I try to open an exported Keynote '08 document.
Here's what happens: I create a Keynote '08 document and export it as Power Point. If I either double-click or try to open from within PPT '08, I get a crash stating that PPT has encountered an error and needs to quit. This happens EVERY time with EVERY single exported presentation. Oddly, it never happened in PPT '04.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I am running MS Office for Mac 2008 under OS X 10.6.3...
I do not get a printer dialog box when I print my slides so I do not get the chance to print speaker notes. Also, when running Word, I go directly to print bypassing the printer dialog box in Word.
I have repaired permissions, updated all my software (OS X, MS Office), rebooted.
I transferred a Powerpoint 2008 presentation using a USB memory stick from my new iMac (latest OSX) to an older iMac (OSX 10.4.11) but could not open the file either by double-click or from the Powerpoint 2004 application on that computer. The file icon as transferred is a Zip file and when I double-click iI get a window saying 'Archiving file ...' but it doesn't open. Neither do I get an unzipped icon to open. I confirmed that BOMArchivehelper is enabled and exists on the computer. What am I missing?

However, today I downloaded one, it's TrueType, I can use it on keynote but not on power point

It's the on highlited and it has a dot on the right.
I already copied and pasted it on all the fonts folders on my mac.
My G5 Power Mac Dual 2.0 run well. But I want to start the system from the dvd. Every time I try it, the mac crashed by starting up. On the screen you read. please start again.... If the Systems runs from Hard disc it runs perfect. And you insert the DVD, there is no problem. I tried two different System DVDs 10.4 and one 10.3. All run normal, but when I boot from it them the Mac crash every time. The same when I boot with "alt" and change to dvd start.

Is anyone else getting this problem? When I hit Command+S in a worksheet, Excel unexpectedly quits. Very frustrating as backing up is kind of a problem.

Well it looks like he never hit save one time after starting the doc and then his MBP crashed and it's all gone.
Is there an autosave or temp file created somewhere that it'd be possible to recover this from?
He's running 10.6/snow leopard fwiw.
I have problems opening PP. It looks as though it tries to open a couple of files that were left open when I logged off, with no success. Do you know how to block the opening of previously left open files when I launch the program?

I have Guitar Pro 5.3b1 on my system, which is claimed to be snow kitty friendly. However, every time I open the application, it immediately crashes. Any ideas? I can't really think of any alternatives either, other than finale, and that's just overkill.
View 24 Replies View RelatedOne of my clients just purchased a Macbook Pro over the holidays (first time switcher from Windows PCs), and is using Entourage 2008 in place of Outlook 2007. (I used the excellent conversion utility from [URL] to move all his Outlook data over to Entourage.) So far, so good, except he ran into a bug I couldn't resolve for him. Apparently, if his laptop goes to sleep, when he wakes it back up, he receives a bunch of new emails into Entourage that all have the exact same date/time stamp on them (of the time the machine woke from sleep). Other than turning off sleep mode, or always making sure Entourage is closed down before the laptop goes to sleep, is there a fix for this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently staying in university residence where our internet access is all through wireless access point through the building; in this environment, is it possible to setup a time capsule such that it connects wirelessly to the nearest access point and then allows me to connect to it (the TC) wirelessly or by ethernet (then get an address by DHCP in the TC or the access point)? I was hoping to use the TC as a backup for my imac and macbook, as well as a mounting point for drives I plug into it but thus far haven't been able to come up with anything that works ideally (i.e. tried connecting all my stuff to the access point but the backup worked way too slow over 802.11g to do anything realistically when its shared among many other people).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI started to have problems with a used PowerMac G5 that I bought on December last year. The computer came with dual G5 at 2.0GHz, 8GB and 160GB Sata hard drive. The computer was running Leopard 10.5.8.
Once in my home I erase completely the hard drive and installed Leopard from scratch and ran software updates. At this point the computer was functioning good, sometimes crashes when I tryed to import images on iPhoto or Aperture, but appart from this nothing more. Few weeks ago I installed a new hard drive, the disk it's ok and doesn't give problems. The problems started two weeks ago, when computer crashes constantly and at any time with any reason, kernel crashes reports sometimes reports for Safari, other times for iTunes, others for uTorren, mdworker and mostly by Unknow application. I must to restart the computer by force shutdown, that only put thing worse. I was looking for documentation about solve my problem, but there is not so much responses.

My MacBook Pro locks up and shows the message "Please reboot your computer by holding down the power button" every time that Time Machine tries to run a backup. I turned off Time Machine and no more crashes... Sorta makes my 500 Gig Time Capsule useless.
View 8 Replies View RelatedUpdated to OSX Lion. Now everytime I'm not connecting it to the power adapter, sooner or later the screen flickers and it crashes or freezes straight away. It's usually caused when I'm using the browser to open a flash site, which is probably heavy on graphic processing. Or watching a video on quicktime or youtube, even when it's not using a flash player on youtube. Or working on a graphic heavy processing apps like Photoshop. It's updated with latest software updates.
