Applications :: OSX Equivalent To Convert X To DVD For Windows?
Feb 8, 2009
I'm a fairly recent switcher from Windows, and the only program I use quite a bit in Windows that I can't find an OSX replacement for is ConvertXtoDVD. The specific function I need from that program is converting .avi to dvd files.
I have an fcp file that is 244 mb - but when I export it to quicktime to convert into mov - it ends up being 2.2gb!! What am I doing wrong? My final mov final needs to be less than 1 gb for where I am submitting it. I even tried cutting and pasting only the 10 min sequence I want from fcp into a NEW PROJECT (in fcp) and then exporting only THAT sequence into mov---but it still makes it 2.2 gb. Need this asap-
So maybe there is no Keynote for Windows, but is there an equivalent? I'm kinda stuck on a PC right now so I can't get Keynote. And no, PowerPoint is not acceptable
I have my Keynote presentation on Dropbox, but forgot to export it as PPT before leaving home this morning. I have a presentation today. Is there a way to convert it to PPT on a windows machine?
Okay so before everyone starts to say search before you post a new topic. I searched about this and im confused i saw various methods. I want to have the same library on mac and windows 7. Also, when i add music to my mac library will it automatically loads the new music into my windows side.
I use a HP Compaq Tablet PC at work every day. It's a convertible tablet/laptop. I use Windows Journal to write with a pen stylus onto a notebook-lined template or to a graph paper template. I just hate my work computer.
I'm seriously thinking of buying my own Mac notebook and using an external tablet or slate by Wacom. (or purchasing a Modbook)
Is there any Mac software similar to Windows Journal?
I've looked at Evernote, Journler, Circus Ponies Notebook, SoHo notes, Zengobi Curio, The Omni Group, MacJournal. None of them are similar to WIndows Journal. Circus Ponies Notebook comes closest.
Does anyone know of a similar type of utility made for Windows that expands text through key commands? Here is a strange additional request, I'd prefer that it not be freeware.
I am looking for the equivalent of the windows favorites folder in Mac. Can you tell me where all the links are stored. ( Like when I like a site I add to the favorites in Mac), where is the folder where they are stored?
I am configuring a MAC OS X 10.6.5 for multiple users on a domain. I want each profile to have specific applications in the dock along with right click enabled for all users. I am new to Mac's and havent found any material on creating a default profile for OS X 10.6.5.
Where do I find the equivalent of Remote Desktop Connection on Mac OS X Lion? I like the feature in MS Windows where I can click on the "MS orb/All Programs" and all of my programs are there? Is there a way to customize something like this in Mac OS? I hate to go to an Application folder and launch my application that way.
I need a software like Putty on Windows, but for OSX. I have a USB-RS232 'dongle' and serial cable I use to access the console on some UNIX servers, but I need a serial terminal software to use it.
iPhoto is great, but I need something like windows Paint, that can edit photos, i.e. color in/out a license plate on a car pic and what not. I'm looking for a simple and hopefully free equivalent, not a professional program at this time. I'm new to mac, so I don't know what's out there and didn't see anything listed in the help menu for mac apps here.
good Graphmatica equivalent for OS X? I've tried geoMac and EdenGraph, but like neither of those.
EdenGraph can't plot multiple curves at the same time, and while dragging, the curves disappear, while with geoMac I have to manually specify the range when drawing a graph of the function, and I don't know how to get the coordinate of a point on the graph.
I'm desperatingly looking for the AnyDVD equivalent on Mac, the famous Win software from Slysoft. I tried to use DVD2One, which itself is very fast (considering that it uses all the CPU cores), but unfortunately it cannot handle copy-protected DVDs. First ripping the DVD on the Hd with Mac The Ripper is a time wasting, considering that in Windows AnyDVD simply removes the protection via software, without any previous extraction of the DVD content.
I just transferred from PC to Mac. On my PC, I kept all my passwords and personal info in RoboForm. I would like a similar program on Mac that I can use to keep track of all my passwords. It has to be able to import my Roboform data into it and it also has to be compatible with Firefox.
Its been a while since I have switched over to mac now but basically the only thing I miss about windows is MS Paint, I liked to have the free, simple photo editing tool, I basically just used it for cropping screenshots and things of that nature, anyway, I'm wondering if there is any free equivalent of MS Paint for mac.
Just curious if anyone knows of a program with similar features to Little Snitch that is shareware.
This has probably been brought up in another thread already but I wasn't able to find the answer I was looking for. If you happen to know of that conversation it would be awesome if you could post a link to it.
I have a fall 2008 model macbook, 2.4 GHz 4GB ram, etc. I run windows XP SP3 on bootcamp, with a fat32 partition. I believe the external harddrive I run games from is also fat32 formatted.
I've had enough problems with transferring files over 4GB that i've decided to attempt to convert from fat32 to ntfs. I'd like to do it while on my windows partition, with the CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS in the command prompt. What precautions should I take before I attempt this? How difficult will it be to also convert my external drive to ntfs? Will anything be deleted in the process? Will I still be able to use parallels?
im running windows 7 allongside osx but the problem is natively osx has no ntfs write driver only read so there are 3rd party drivers but im getting tiered of them being slow and/or corrupting data and on the windows side i use macdrive has issues aswell so i want to convert the ntfs drive to fat32 i heard there were ways to get vista to run on fat32 even though it wouldnt install so im hoping this is the same
anyone know how i could achieve converting the driver from ntfs to fat without loosing data?
