OS X V10.7 Lion :: AD Account Canot Create A Mobile Account
Apr 10, 2012Working on a 2011 Macbook Pro with 10.7.3.I"ve setup many other macs with the same build and they all have created the mobile account when logging in for the first time, but this one will not allow the mobile account to get created.I'm connected to the line that gives me LAN access. I can log in with my own credencials and that works fine.I suspect it's the way the AD account is setup on the server but I'm not an admin for that. The same account sets up fine on a Windows box. Once I log in for the first time, it goes directly to the desktop. Basicly a local account but no user directory is created. With Fast User Switching turned on I see that it's showing someone elses name there, not the user that I logged in with. i.e. It should show 'joe jones' but it's showing 'fred smith'
Can't get screen grabs because there is no access. Can't show the FInder drives for the same reason, even if I go make the user an admin from a local admin account.I've seen some fixes in the forums but nothing works. I could just give in and create a local account an leave it at that, but that is not a fix

Jun 22, 2012Switching website from Mobile Me to Go Daddy if pages made with Go Live (not iWeb). Do we access the SITES folder or the WEB ->SITES folder. I remember a while back Apple switched from accessing our webpages from the SITES folder at the first level. They created a folder entited WEB and put an RSS and a SITES folder within it. They did something to the index to "point" to this folder.Â
1) I've created my pages with Go Live. I have successfully used them with my iDisk. I did not use iWEB.
2) I have bought hosting on Go Daddy.
3) I cannot seem to have the webpage open as it does in iDisk
4) Am I supposed to access and transfer the files INSIDE this path:Â iDisk --> WEB --> Sites
OR
this path:Â iDisk -> SitesÂ
5) I can't remember why Apple started the new folder, but the dates seem older if I go to iDisk --->WEB --> Sites
6) I've been uploading my new files to iDisk--Sites. The dates are my newer filesÂ
I uploaded the folder to Go Daddy, but I need to type a longer path to get it to find the index.html fileÂ
I also have other folders I put at the root level. I'm not even trying to get to them yet. I'm trying to get the site to open to
one folder only at this time. I can't even get it to do that.Â
Can someone please tell me what Apple did about 2 years ago to create an index that "pointed" the the correct opening page? Or, can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I copied the entire folder.Â
Software :: Separate ADC And ITunes Account From Mobileme Account?
Apr 3, 2009The AppleID of all my accounts (iTunes, ADC, Apple Dev Center, apple store) is my mobileme email (username@mac.com)
I would like to change this (using some other appleid to separate these accounts from mobileme) so that I don't need to renew my mobileme subscription. From Apple websites, I cannot do this, AppleID cannot be changed if it is a mobileme id.
How can I do? What will happend if my mobileme subscription finished? All accounts will be finished or what else?

I was actually trying to setup screen sharing between my personal Macbook and my Work iMac, but failed. disable that feature on my account? Also, why are the Mobile account settings grayed out?

Mac OS X Lion Server :: AD Mobile Account Login Trouble
Jun 20, 2012I have a brand new iMac running 10.7.4 bound to AD with mobile accounts to be created at login. We've had dozens of users log into this Mac with their AD credentials with no problems. Login proceeds as expected, home folders are created, etc. One user cannot log in. The login window will freeze (spinning beach ball) after he enters his credentials and the computer has to be manually shut down. After a restart you can see that his home directory has been created, with proper permissions, but he still cannot log in (spinning beach ball). However, he CAN log onto other AD bound Macs, just not this one. And he CAN log onto a bound Windows machine, so apparently there's nothing wrong with his account. There is no OD server in the mix. The computer is bound to our AD domain only. The system log shows the proper UID but indicates that the user name can't be found. But then the user folder (with the correct name) is created anyway. Later there is an entrry that the UID can't be found.

MobileMe :: Error Message But Never Had Account
May 12, 2012In the last few weeks when I open iphoto on my iMac (OS 10.7.3) I get the following error message, "MobileMe didn't recognize the stored password for (my name)'s MobileMe account". As far as I can remember, I never had a MobileMe account, but I did put in the password I use for my Apple account and it rejected it. I created a brand new password, and it still wouldn't recognize it. I don't care about MobileMe and I have other Cloud accounts, so I just want to get rid of this annoying error message. Where do I go to stop this message for good? I have looked everywhere I could think of. I also checked on my iPad. My contacts and calendars are successfully synching.

Aug 22, 2008my iTunes store is registered under an old email address and I wanted to change this address to my MobileMe address.iTunes would not let me change the address to an existing MobileMe account, but I was successful in creating my .me account seperately. Ok.
Now my problem/question: I no longer wish to use my old @rogers account and only want to use my @me. iTunes will not recognize my previous purchases made from the @rogers when logged in using my new @me. Fair enough... so now I would like to transfer all my purchases from the old account to my new MobileMe.
Can this be done?? I certainly am unable to do this from my side.

Jun 9, 2012I suddenly cannot get mail on my IMAP account in Mail 5.2. The rotating 'get mail' symbol continues non-stop. I can send mail, but it is extremely slow to go, and will not send me a copy as requested, even for a 500 byte post. I mostly have to use a dongle for mail/internet, but have now tried from a MacD wifi site too. I can get onto internet OK.
