My messenger started to do some pretty stupid things. A morning when I logged in, all my contact suddenly were blocked, but I fixed it. But now, when I log in, I get requests from all my contacts, who already are on my contact-list, and I get those requests every time I log in. And also when I then write to one of my contacts, they see me as offline.
View 7 RepliesI just signed into my msn on my Macbook today to find all my messenger contacts blocked, and whenever I tried to unblock them it didn't do anything.
Also when I signed on, almost all the contacts I had showed up like new contact requests, where I had the option to add them or ignore the request. When I used my windows PC with Windows Live, everything was normal and no contacts were blocked.
I am using Messenger:mac version 7.0.2 (090123)
as far as I know, that is the most recent version.
I'm using adium, and its great. But, sometimes when i add a new contact it doesn't seem to send an invitation and neither do i get an invitation when some people add me. I mean everything goes normal when adding a contact. but they never come online, while in real they are.

How can I unblock them and return my messenger to normal?
Whenever I try to delete a contact from MSN Messenger, the following comes up. "The server was unable to remove the user "___" from your contact list."
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm new to using the Apple Calendar to list new events added. Previously, I used Microsoft Outlook 2010 for my business needs on my old PC and that worked perfectly for adding new jobs. Recently I made the change to a 27" iMac running Yosemite (which I love) and I purchased MS Office 365 for all of my business templates and approximately 1,000 customers. The MS Outlook program is having a lot of trouble syncing to the Apple Calendar which wasn't a problem on my old PC.
So, I thought that I could just use the suite of programs included with my new iMac instead of Outlook. Unfortunately, when adding a new event and add a customer as a location, it will only list their address and not their phone number which is something that I must have. I understand that I will have the contacts listed with me always, but I don't want to have to switch between programs to pull up the listed contacts #. If this is not available then I fear that I will have to revert back to MS Outlook and just figure out what is preventing it from properly syncing with Calendar. I use the Calendar app on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air religiously so in the end it all comes back to Calendar.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)

Well, I just noticed that most of the 10,000 songs in my library have at some point lost the original 'date added' they used to have. Now, the earliest date is sometime in February of 2010. And some have been set to just a few days ago. How did this happen? Is this a bug of iTunes 10? I only just noticed this, so I'm not sure when it happened.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith Itunes 9, every song I play gets added to the Itunes library, even if I don't want it there. I have Itunes as my default music player on a Windows 7 (64-bit) computer. For example, if in windows explorer, I click on an MP3 file that is not in the Itunes library, Itunes starts up and plays the song (which is fine), but also it adds the song to the itunes library (which I don't want). I don't see any options to change this behavior.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been googling this for a bit, and I'm only seeing a single tutorial being copy pasted around from back on OSX 10.4. Since iChat has been updated several times since then, I'm not sure how viable the tutorial is.
I got the new Office 2011 so the new MSN Messenger 8 was included. I've tried everything but nothing works. I can't connect. It'll just say "Sign in failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten... blah" I know the password and everything is correct since I can sign in on my windows computer. I've tried using another account and it doesn't work either. I would use Adium but I really dislike the style along with many 3rd party clients. I had MSN 6 installed and that worked fine.

View 24 Replies View RelatedNew Macbook Pro owner.Been using PCs for years.Along with this I have a 10 year old MSN Messenger account.I see Mac for Messenger automatically came with the Mac or Leopard.
In any event I have, over the past 3 days, tried signing into to my MSN Messenger numerous times and each time am told my password or user name is incorrect althogh I have double checked and triple checked many times.So it wont let me on BUT I can sign into Windows Live using the same password.ID info.
I have taken down my firewall, put it back up, thinking maybe that was the problem to no avail.
I have even changed my password twice waiting up to 24 hours to try again and just now for the 5th day in a row it tells me it is wrong when it ISNT. I really do need to get online with it now after being off for several days with this.I just checked yet again and see now that I still cannot log on but can on the web in Windows Live alhtough I sign out of that so it wont interfere.
I AM STUMPED and no longer know what to do next short of just getting a whole new identity but I have used this for 10 years with no problem up until now so a name/password change but I would rather not have to get a new one but just want to be able to log on to Mac Messenger ASAP.
i have messenger for mac 8 beta as i need the video calls option but the annoying problem is is that it keeps freezing in mid-use and is getting on my nerves, i have reinstalled it but that's about it.

When I make a call to one of my contact's computer using my internal microphone and internal speakers everything is fine.
If I switch to my bluetooth headset in System Preferences and retry the call I can not hear them and they can not hear me.
Using the bluetooth headset for Skype calls works fine.
Is this a messenger issue or ??????
Last night I made a clean install on Leopard so today I downloaded Messenger for Mac 7.0.2.
When my buddy list appeared, it was grouped into "Online" and "Offline", these 2 groups only. However, I used to have several groups in my previous buddylist. What happened to those?
My Safari works perfectly fine until I log into Facebook (this problem started to happen about a month and a half ago) - it will freeze on me and I have to force quit Safari. Is there any way I can fix this problem on Safari? I've noticed that my friends MacBook as well as my parents MacBook don't have this problem...
As for my MSN... only pictures taken from Photo Booth will work as my display pictures and I don't receive notifications when contacts sign online (even though I have that preference checked off in alerts to alert me).
