Nov 4, 2010im using the new msn 8, and each time i use messenger then turn off my computer and turn it back on or restart the computer, i keep getting recovered files in my trash.

Applications :: Office Recovered Files?
Nov 9, 2010So I recently installed Microsoft Office 2011 Home and Business. Its great I "LOVE" it. Which is odd for me because I hate 2008 and only had little using time with 2004.
I noticed though that whenever I log into my computer there is a file in the trash called Recovered Files. Just wondering what all of that is about. I'm assuming that since it is in the trash it is safe to delete?

Nov 7, 2010Whenever I start the Mac, there is always a folder named "recovered files" in the recycle bin...even though the bin was empty before previous shutdown. There is a "wkresources" in the folder. What is this? I really want to see a clear bin when start. Can I do something to change that?

Jul 23, 2009I have a hard drive that is in the process of dying and had to use Diskwarrior in order to rebuild the drive; luckily, it seems to have recovered my files.
I looked in Users/Library/Pictures to find my iPhoto Library file, however it doesn't seem to my newer photos that I imported into the library.
Is there a secondary/hidden location that the original files are stored in? Where exactly can I find them?

Nov 26, 2010I got the new Office 2011 so the new MSN Messenger 8 was included. I've tried everything but nothing works. I can't connect. It'll just say "Sign in failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten... blah" I know the password and everything is correct since I can sign in on my windows computer. I've tried using another account and it doesn't work either. I would use Adium but I really dislike the style along with many 3rd party clients. I had MSN 6 installed and that worked fine.

Oct 17, 2009New Macbook Pro owner.Been using PCs for years.Along with this I have a 10 year old MSN Messenger account.I see Mac for Messenger automatically came with the Mac or Leopard.
In any event I have, over the past 3 days, tried signing into to my MSN Messenger numerous times and each time am told my password or user name is incorrect althogh I have double checked and triple checked many times.So it wont let me on BUT I can sign into Windows Live using the same password.ID info.
I have taken down my firewall, put it back up, thinking maybe that was the problem to no avail.
I have even changed my password twice waiting up to 24 hours to try again and just now for the 5th day in a row it tells me it is wrong when it ISNT. I really do need to get online with it now after being off for several days with this.I just checked yet again and see now that I still cannot log on but can on the web in Windows Live alhtough I sign out of that so it wont interfere.
I AM STUMPED and no longer know what to do next short of just getting a whole new identity but I have used this for 10 years with no problem up until now so a name/password change but I would rather not have to get a new one but just want to be able to log on to Mac Messenger ASAP.

Jan 11, 2011I installed MS messenger 8.0 on my MacBook and the only problem so far is audio.
When I make a call to one of my contact's computer using my internal microphone and internal speakers everything is fine.
If I switch to my bluetooth headset in System Preferences and retry the call I can not hear them and they can not hear me.
Using the bluetooth headset for Skype calls works fine.
Is this a messenger issue or ??????

As for my MSN... only pictures taken from Photo Booth will work as my display pictures and I don't receive notifications when contacts sign online (even though I have that preference checked off in alerts to alert me).

Feb 21, 2010A few months ago I noticed that the messenger will not keep my display name anymore. Every time I log in I have to retype my name. Also, it doesn't save the personal messages for contacts to see. No one can see my display pictures anymore. In addition to that, I have problem communicating with people who has yahoo messenger. I don't receive messages from them sometimes or I can see them typing but nothing shows on my screen. Does anyone have the same problem or I am unique?

Mar 9, 2010I've been using Yahoo Messenger with Snow Leopard just fine for a while, but now all of a sudden the webcam feature does not work. When I try to invite someone to view my webcam they just see a black screen that says "Starting Webcam Session...", but it never loads. Similarly, when I try to view someone's webcam, the same thing happens on my end. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Like I said, it was working fine until a few days ago.

Apr 13, 2010Since today, I cant login with any online messenger out there. I tried the whole lot, about 10 or so. They al can't seem to make a connection with the internet.
Internet seems to be working fine though, since transmission, limewire and firefox are all up and running.
I'm currently using eBuddy for the time being, but I'd really like a solution for my problem. I've deleted some preference files, but this didn't change anything.
P.S.: If you were to spot some faults/incorrections in this post, please notify, I'm Dutch and would love to improve my language skills.

Jun 10, 2010When a friend of mine istalled office for mac, a version of messenger was installed as well, and i liked that whenever someone wrote to me, the icon on the dock jumped and it made the typical messenger sound.
On sunday, I saw that you could now downlead messenger 8.0 beta, i did and it removed the previous version that I had, however I couldnt change the image on the 8.0 so I decided to re-downlad messenger 7.
The problem is, that with this version, it no longer jumps or sounds, so i don't know when someone is talking to me, and since the messenger that I liked came with the office installer and I don't have it I don't know what to do!
Is there any way to apply the ''sound'' in messenger 7.0?
Why can't I change my image in 8.0? I can choose it on my folder but it just won't work!

When sent the invitation from a contact, I can answer, but there is no sound nor video. And when I send the invitation, it never arrives or loads. This has been going on for ages, and I am absolutely boggled as to what it is.
