I'm using adium, and its great. But, sometimes when i add a new contact it doesn't seem to send an invitation and neither do i get an invitation when some people add me. I mean everything goes normal when adding a contact. but they never come online, while in real they are.

I have been using Adium for years, previously on my iBook and now on my new MacBook without any problems. Recently, it stopped working. I use my AIM and Jabber screennames on it. When I open it, it shows that I am connected and online. However, it tells me that none of my buddies are online, even though they are. My friends have also told me that I don't appear on their Buddy lists even when my Adium tells me I'm online.
I downloaded the latest version of Adium and this didn't help. It still does it. As far as I know, it's only the AIM that isn't working. I think the Jabber still works, but I am not positive. This also occasionally happens with my AIM app on my iPod Touch when it happens on my Adium. I am assuming this means there is something wrong with my AIM screenname and not necessarily with Adium? Do you think getting a new AIM screenname would help? It's definitely just the AIM that isn't working. Jabber works fine.
I have a contact that is present in two separate accounts. However, the contact only shows up in ONE account. This makes me wonder if Adium combines the contact from two accounts. *note* both contacts are in groups in separate accounts. But the weird thing is, I have another contact thats present in both accounts, but he shows up as 2 contacts in adium.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used aidum for a while and then changed to the msn for mac. Today I decided to use adium again, and when it opened a lot of pop up windows appeared saying
"is on the local list but not on the server list, would you like to add this buddie to the server list?"
My messenger started to do some pretty stupid things. A morning when I logged in, all my contact suddenly were blocked, but I fixed it. But now, when I log in, I get requests from all my contacts, who already are on my contact-list, and I get those requests every time I log in. And also when I then write to one of my contacts, they see me as offline.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to using the Apple Calendar to list new events added. Previously, I used Microsoft Outlook 2010 for my business needs on my old PC and that worked perfectly for adding new jobs. Recently I made the change to a 27" iMac running Yosemite (which I love) and I purchased MS Office 365 for all of my business templates and approximately 1,000 customers. The MS Outlook program is having a lot of trouble syncing to the Apple Calendar which wasn't a problem on my old PC.
So, I thought that I could just use the suite of programs included with my new iMac instead of Outlook. Unfortunately, when adding a new event and add a customer as a location, it will only list their address and not their phone number which is something that I must have. I understand that I will have the contacts listed with me always, but I don't want to have to switch between programs to pull up the listed contacts #. If this is not available then I fear that I will have to revert back to MS Outlook and just figure out what is preventing it from properly syncing with Calendar. I use the Calendar app on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air religiously so in the end it all comes back to Calendar.

I'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)
Both my Macbook and iMac and my friend's Macbook cannot connect to Adium for MSN right now.

David was just some random name I picked when I made my email and I don't want my username to be it. However, it seems as though I am constantly having to switch my name to Trinimini whenever I log in, even though my preferences says that my display name is Trinimini. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine recieved her Macbook this morning, and is alrady having some isues with it. She's unable to get a connection with Adium or MSN over her wireless network. In Adium she's tried both an MSN and GoogleTalk account, both of which try and connect for a bit, then give a error that there is no connection. Safari and Skype work flawlessly over the same wireless connection. And when plugged straight in with the ethernet, Adium can connect.
The internet is running through a Zoom ADSL wired moden, to a iMac G4 (running 10.4, I believe) with an Airport wireless card. And the problem isnt specific to her Macbook. Her father's Macbook is also unable to connect to MSN over the wireless network.Since it works wired, it must be something with the wireless. Any ideas on what specifically might be causing the issue? Any ideas on solutions?
Adium keeps getting rid of my custom away messages and putting in the "away" default. I have to become available and put up a custom message every time I want a custom message to stay up. Then after i go idle and come back to my computer Adium has the damn default away message up again. Is there some preference where once you go idle for a certain time it automatically defaults the away message? I know this might be a silly problem but it's very annoying. my custom messages are all saved and appear on the list they just dont stay up after a while.

This has been happening recently. I get an error message from Adium, saying I have been "Signed on at another location". First thing I do is change my password. 2 days later, i get the same message!! I have again changed my password. The strength of the passwords are "strong". My original one was "Strong" in the first place. I honestly hope this is a bug or something, because I don't want a hacker on my hands...I haven't signed on MSN on anyone else's computer recently either.

I've tried deactivating and reactivating it via the Window menu, I've tried changing the settings on when it's supposed to appear, and I've even tried reinstalling the application once, but nothing is working. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this, or should I just stick with iChat for now?
