I am in education and am wondering if I could use powerpoint slides (office 2004 and 2008) as flashcards. Is there any way I can randomize/shuffle slides? There seems to be a randomizer for PC, but is there one for mac? I tried to find one, but I couldn't.
I've just installed the latest iWork'09 update from last week. I've been finding strange behaviour...
I can't right click on anything within a slide, although I still can right click in the navigator side bar on the slide thumbnails on the left hand side.
My school provides students with PDF versions of the powerpoint slides that the professors use in lecture. Many students print them out and take notes on them, a system which I dislike because that wastes paper, and I like to keep my notes organized on my computer. I currently take notes using Microsoft Word's notebooks which is okay, but I end up rewriting things that are on the slides. Sorry for the long winded intro, but my question is are there any programs available that would allow for the addition of texts to the PDFs. I know how to do it with Adobe Software, but I was hoping that someone could clue me into a simpler solution for in-class note taking. Adobe's programs are all have more features than I need on a daily basis, I would like a program simpler and more streamlined.
I have an action sequence in my keynote presentation but I can only change slides after the action is completed. Is there anyway to force change the slide to the next one? (Even if the build is halfway through)
So my friend has iWork 09 as well as I and im trying to help her and I cant figure this out. She has a presentation with 9 slides or so and she would like to print 6 slides per page.
Keynote does it, except it makes them all super small. Powerpoint handles this with no problem. So im totally stomped on this. It seems like the old Keynote did this no problem.
I have Powerpoint on the PC, and there you are able to rehearse and save timings, i.e; say you have a project and have music in the background, you can go to the next slide depending on when you click 'Next' or whatever? Get what I mean? So you're able to rehearse timings so you don't have to control it, it's kind of like a movie. Let me know how to do this with Keynote 09'.
how to compile a 10 minutes single video having photo slides with background score/music and videos, in mac. file formats, Input files, provided- photos and hd videos from Nikon camera & music Output file needed - 10 minutes video of avi / mpeg / mkv / mpeg 4 / hd video. I can't figure out how to print multiple slides on a page. On Windows I would just select print preview and then select handouts... done. Now I have no idea how to do such a simple task. I figured it out, but I have another question. Say I wanted to print 4 slides to a page. How do I make these slides larger?
Is there a way to randomize a limited intelligent playlist each time I listen to it or each time I sync it to an iPad or iPhone? It seam the random mode operate only one time during creation of the playlist ...
Ever since I downloaded and installed Lion the screen at the flick of the mouse will move to the right exposing another desktop with widgets and other stuff. The only way to get back to my regular desktop is to click on the arrow at the lower right of this new unwanted screen.
Every time on Messenger, or another window I right click to get to a certain conversation, it never comes up when I want it to... it just simply goes to the first conversation I opened - and then when I minimize all the windows, after a few seconds it slides out from the side.
While in lecture I sometimes take notes on my MBpro in the notes section of the powerpoint presentation. It would be useful if I knew the keyboard shortcut for Next Slide while in editing mode of the ppt slides. I know there are a ton of keyboard shortcuts for next slide while in presentation mode, but I can't find one for editing mode.
I'm new to the Mac scene - but committed to a full switch, e.g. bought an iPhone, MacBook, signed up for the One-to-One classes... I'm tryin'
But until I'm even close to where I am with PC/PowerPoint, I need help with what must be an incredibly simple task - taking a slide from one Keynote deck and adding it to a different Keynote deck with a different format... and having it match the new format. You'd think (or at least I'd think) it'd be like Pages, e.g. "Paste and Match Style"... no dice. In PowerPoint, this is automatic - drop a slide behind a slide and it matches that slide.
Instead of going to each slide and adding the transition and the same time or delay as all the others, is there a way to add the same transition and delay to all the slide at once
When I have Safari open and want to open another app such as Word, when I open Word Safari slides to the right and disappears. When I close the app, Safari reappears. I want both apps to appear on the desktop at the same time. One over the other one.
I have a large text file, and I'd like to turn each page of the text file into a slide in a presentation (PowerPoint, I guess, though I'm open to alternatives as long as they're cross-platform and idiot-proof). Is there any way to do this using OpenOffice or NeoOffice? The text file is currently in RTF (TextEdit) form, so I can easily convert it to .doc or PDF. Formatting should be maintained, but it's nothing too complex; just some boldface and centering. I'm looking to make cue slides out of the lines of a play. I have all the lines, and I can re-paginate it easily enough, but I'm at a loss as to how to make slides out of it. I don't have the time/patience to manually create hundreds of slides and paste in each line one by one.
I recently went through my Applications folder and uninstalled some applications. Now and then, I'll find a file or a folder or a bunch of files and folders from an uninstalled application. Does anyone know of an application that can delete these files that I no longer need?
Sorry for the incredibly stupid question, but I just got the gfxCardStatus application for my i5, and was wondering whether turning on the NVIDIA video card will make applications like Mail, Firefox, etc. faster?
I read something about OpenCL, but am not really sure whether it works for all applications.
I find that turning on the NVIDIA card, instead of using the integrated Intel one, makes my laptop hotter.
I have a second user on my Mac Snow Leopard. I have the calculator in my Applications and Dock...he doesn't. How can I get this for the second user? (I recently upgraded with the disc to Snow Leopard..could that be part of the problem?)
how to not have the disc image appear on my desktop when I open applications that I downloaded. For example I downloaded wondershare dvd ripper and everytime I open it the disc image shows up on my desktop and I cant eject it without quitting the application. This is now happening with every application I open and it never happened before.
Here's a screen shot of my applications folder, Can anyone explain or help me with this?I find this strange that it appears that I have two versions of Logic installed on my computer, Is there anyway I can "merge" or "trash" one without losing any data?
My dad was saving a bunch of Word docs on his Mac - he had one large file that he split up into twenty-some smaller files, which he then saved onto both his desktop and on a flash drive. Somehow along the way (neither he nor I had any clue how) but 4 of those files saved as an alias that point to nowhere. In other words, I can't find the originals anywhere on his computer or flash drives.
Even stranger is that one of those files aliased to the Applications folder. Keep in mind these are all supposed to be word documents. They all still end with .doc, but their type is an alias. I have no clue how they were created as an alias, but they were. It's probably a longshot without knowing where the original is located, but do any of you guys know how to possibly retrieve this?
I have a friends MacBook running 10.6.8 2.26Ghz Intel Core Duo 8 gig ram. I have installed UnrarX a couple of times with no errors in the installation process, however the application does not appear in the applications folder or any where else and cannot find it to open .rar files.
I fixed the issue by simply copying the UnrarX app from my MacBookPro but would like to find out what is going on. I have been told by my friend that she has had this issue before.
When I open my Finder, inside my Applications folder I see...an Applications folder. And an "Applications copy" folder. All full of the same applications. Am I just seeing multiple mirrors of one Applications folder, or did I actually somehow duplicate all my applications?
