View 2 RepliesI have an avi [Generic MPEG-4, 688 x 288, Millions, MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 48.000 kHz] and a corresponding srt subtitle file.
I can open the avi in QT but only if I remove the srt from the same folder.
So the avi is good.
If I have the srt in the same folder and try to open the avi, QT crashes immediately.
I am using handbreake to convert some files to AppleTV. I am adding subtitles, it is fine. But I dont know how I can set subtitle size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy goal is to add subtitles to 640x480 mov video.
When I create a new project of type Hi-def 720p in imovie 06 and import my video, then black column stripes are coming on both sides in the imported video probably to compensate the width.
I really like the way Quicktime X looks, with no controls or borders when playing a video.

If this is in the wrong forum then mods please feel free to move it. I'm looking for a program that will search online for Korean subtitles for my movies. Does anyone use any such program or have any recommendations for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI encoded a bunch of anamorphic h264 videos, all done with the same settings and software, and in Quicktime's inspector, some show as "current size: 640 x 480" and others say "current size: 640 x 480 (actual)". Although they all display CORRECTLY, I am worried something went wrong with the PAR on encoding or when setting the current size in Subler (to get comptibility with older devices). What does the "actual" part really mean?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a mac mini with 8 gbytes of RAM. When my wife and I are both logged in (but only one actively, of course),
the memory usage goes up to maximum (7.94gbytes). Of this, only 2.8gbytes are app memory, with 4 gbytes of file cache.
This seems ridiculously high. Is there a way for me to instruct the mac os to use less file cache?

It appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI see that you can make video screen captures in Snow Leopard, using Quicktime Player's New Screen Movie feature. This is great for my needs, except for one thing: They're too big. It makes life-size recordings of my entire 1,900 x 1,200 screen, and the files seems to come out around 11 megabytes per minute of video. I don't see a way to resize the screen capture videos to a smaller size, in Quicktime Player. Is there a way?

why the iphoto library file size in the finder appears to be a certain size, while iphoto itself reports a very different size. Is there any way to recover any disk space or reconcile the numbers here? Please see the attachments below, it may make a bit more sense that way. I would like to recover the disk space and if it really is a 16gb difference somewhere.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using iTunes 9.2.1 and it states that my music library is 159.99gb with 25,994 songs, however the folder containing music files is 171.26gb with 30,309 files. This is a difference of 11.27gb and 4315 files. The folder only contains mp3 or m4a files with their respective album and band folders; no images, text files or anything else. The iTunes folder is located elsewhere. I added the folder to iTunes again to see if there were 11gb of songs I'd forgotten to add and there was no difference. I even deleted all iTunes settings and the current library and added the folder again and it is still missing 11.27gb.
I'm about 95% sure that none of my music collection is missing from iTunes so my first thought was that iTunes is just reading the file sizes and count inaccurately and it really is 171.26gb, but I'm not sure.
Can anyone think of a solution without going though my entire collection and comparing it to iTunes to see if anything is missing?
I dragged a folder from an external hard drive into iTunes containing the songs I want on my new MacBook.
But, for some reason the file size shown in iTunes is 47.66GB whereas Finder says my iTunes Music folder is 50.38GB
I purchased Xslimmer recently, and I've just notice a big issue. In Xslimmer, it says the current size of the app is say 20 mb, but Finder says it is 50 mb. Same thing after I slim it. I checked on a different computer, and it said the same thing. Could someone check the filesize of Mail.app in Finder (mine was 77.4 mb), and the current size in XSlimmer (said it was 25.5mb).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recorded a lot of videos with my Samsung HD video cam. I chose 1280x720 H.264 as video format. When I want to watch the videos on my mac (Snow Leopard, Quicktime Player 10) the height of the videos is too low. According to Quicktime the format is H.264, 1280 x 720 , 16.7m colors with 50 fps, but the current size is 1388 x 440 pixels. How can I watch my videos with the real size of 1280 x 720 pixels? Up to now I need another video player, e.g. VLC.
