Final Cut Pro X :: Subtitle Video In Several Languages?
Jun 24, 2014I want to subtitle my video in several languages? Is there a program which makes it easy?

View 3 RepliesMy goal is to add subtitles to 640x480 mov video.
When I create a new project of type Hi-def 720p in imovie 06 and import my video, then black column stripes are coming on both sides in the imported video probably to compensate the width.
Someone at work recorded a screen capture video. Within the frame, there's good material but a lot of garbage around the edges that I don't want (what Sally Hogshead would call "screen crapture"). The good stuff lasts the entire duration of the clip, is not perfectly centered, and does not move at all in its placement or change size throughout the clip.
If I crop or trim, I can eliminate the garbage, either making it transparent or black (there's no other clip beneath it to show through) easily enough. Is there a way to then export just the desired portion of the video frame (the non-cropped good stuff) as its own video at a smaller frame size?

Does anyone use a MBP for video editing or do you find it much more easier on a desktop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have a Mac Mini, ssd drive, 2.6ghz quad core i7 with 16gb of ram. Graphics is intel hd4000. Despite it's not having dedicated graphics, would I be able to do some fairly heavy video editing, in Final Cut Pro, with it? I'm still learning, but the computer was an investment and I hope it grows with me. Right now I'm learning with iMovie, but I plan on purchasing FcP in the near future. I am hoping I don't have to worry about purchasing another Mac for at least a couple of years, just because I don't have discrete graphics or iris in this one.
Basically I'm not looking to edit a feature-length presentation, but I'd like to do some music videos, with some cool effects, maybe get into short films or documentaries of 10 to 15 min in length. Nothing too intense, but I'd like to play around with some effects.
I have come across a problem whilst editing in final cut pro.
When i import from my camera into fcp the video quality looks fine and it is hd and when i play it frame by frame the video quality looks fine, it's just when i play it, the video suddenly drops in quality and goes slightly pixelated.
Can the new mini's with the new video cards run final cut pro? I am not a video editor but do some small projects once in awhile. I would max out the mini at 4GB of ram running (2) 24" monitors.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've shot a film on the RED one camera and our editor and colourist worked with Final Cut and in 1920x1080. I've exported this as a single Apple ProRes HQ Quicktime and used the 'DVD: High Quality 90 mins' setting in Compressor - and then used DVD studio pro to burn (all this is using Final Cut Studio 2).

My friend is trying to convert a trailer for web streaming but is having troubles with the format. We filmed the videos in Nashville and then he edited the trailer but every time he sends me a copy it's pixelated... What settings he should be using on the compressor?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Panasonic GH4 camera records UHD in either .Mov or MP4. I choose .Mov.
The newer Pansonic FX1000 camera only records UHD in MP4. I use Mpeg Streamclip and Toast Titanium, neither of which will recognise a MP4 file from the GH4.
Any file converter that will convert MP4 4K/UHD to .Mov 4K/UHD.
(I know FCPX will handle both "formats" but I need to convert outside of a main editing program)

I can not get HDMI video output through FCP-X 10.1.3. I tested the card and I get video through it to my HDMI monitor using Blackmagic Media Express, so I know the card, monitor, and cable are in perfect working condition. I have windows>AV output selected in FCP-X, but can not get a signal through. I think it is a bug, and a major one at that. I really need this for color grading and to properly view my actual clips.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIm trying to Capture videos from a sony dvd camcorder. im using a canopus advanced DV converter (ADVC-110 is the model #). quicktime version 10.0 is installed on this computer.
iMac 6.1 using OS X 10.6.2so this is what happens. i will attempt to capture a video from the camcorder to final cut express hd and during the capture, the video will momentarily freeze on the computer, however the playback on the camcorder continues. the result is that the video freezes while the audio continues to capture (and during playback as well). any ideas on what the problem could be?
i dont use this computer for any software/music downloading or anything like that so viruses are pretty much out of the question. if theres any other information you may need let me know.
i've connected my DV camera into my computer, its been recognized by final cut, and will let me import (capture). But when i go to import it doesnt divide the footage into clips as its being captured. Is there a way to modify this? Or does it divide after its done importing? Or not at all?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bella Pro Series video editing keyboard mapped for final cut. It has Media key and a jog wheel. Anyway, because of the symbols on the keys it is hard to see the letters. I have the aluminum keyboard that came with my mac pro sitting around and I was wondering if it was possible to use both the aluminum keyboard and my editing keyboard at the same time Or will it create conflicts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a mp4 file with Share/Export File… (settings: Computer, H.264 Faster Encode, 1920x1080 - edited from an HD camera): its video always freezes at a definite point when played on my BD Player connected to my HDTV through HDMI (audio instead continues on the frozen image). It seem that the issue is a sudden video bit rate pick of almost 50 Mbps while its average is around 20-30 Mbps. It is not clear to me if this freeze is caused by the BD Player or by the HDTV not being able to handle such pick.
As a test I used Compressor to control the output bit rate (settings: average 20 Mbps and pick 25 Mbps) and this seems to fix the problem. To be more certain I should do more tests.
if there is a way in FCPX to control such picks (without using Compressor), either in the Share commands (but it seems to me that they don't provide enough setting controls) or in the timeline. By watching the Video Scopes I can see a quite strong signal in the area where the output file has the bit rate pick. But I don't know any way to have a measure useful to identify them before sharing and avoid a trial and error approach...

I'm a drummer and use a few different camera's to record my drumming. I have one camera capable of recording 720p or 1080p, but my other 2 only shoot 480p. I want export the whole video after editing in all the different shots, at 1080p or 720p. My problem is, the camera's that shoot 480p, have a border around them, so can I fill in that border somehow?

So ive been having alot of trouble with rendering a 6 minute video on Final Cut Pro X.
I go to file, share, and use HD 1080p, the video gets about 25% through when this error comes ups:
and then when i click on 'details' this comes up:
Ive looked up this problem and I cannot find a solution, I've tried doing whatever i can think of like copy and pasting it all into a different project and trying that, creating a new event and pasting it into a project there, ive tried turning off App Nap too.
Also, all throughout editing this actual video i kept running out of disk space and alot of errors would come up, so when this error came up i thought it might be that and i deleted alot of things i didnt need and cleared out my trash but it hasnt made a difference.

I filmed a show with 2 different cameras (one is a canon vixia, the other is a canon dos 7D, i realize the quality is different for them) and I used the multi cam editor to match h up the clips and audio file to switch back and forth. I think i created proxy media to use for the multi cam clip. Whenever i export my movie, the movie plays with horizontal lines, and whenever there is faster motion, the person gets blurred. What is making final cut pro x export like this? How do I fix this? I've tried exporting with Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy), and H.264, but all video files have the lines going through it and the motion is a bit blurry.

I'm not sure exactly what the appropriate terminology is here, but what I'm looking for is an app (not necessarily FCPro) that allows dynamically rotating or "straightening" a video taken with a head POV video camera (i.e. GoPro, et. al.)
Situation, you are sitting with a head camera strapped to your head (looking appropriately geeky or stupid, whichever), and recording video. As you do so, your head looks left, right, and due to the environment, you may tilt your head 20-45 degrees to get the view you want to see (NOTE - what I/me/myself want to view with my eyes - camera is "along for the ride" so to speak). Then you look out "level" again, etc. Now look to the other side, rotating your head again, etc. (wash, rinse, repeat).
I'm wanting to take "head tilt" out and keep the video "level", based on some reference/key frames. Is there a specific app that can do this without destroying too much quality? Does FCPro even accomplish this? This is NOT a case of stabilization, I need to dynamically rotate the video to make the video appear level/straight, even though the camera was tilted, etc.

When I synch audio/video I get either a file with audio only or a graphic representing a compound clip.
if I could choose two clips and let FCP X synch them with a click, but that's not my experience at all...
I don't know how to explain the effect but i will show you what i want...
if you see this video from 1:00 the pictures that changes and the face effect the tracking is there anyway to do that in final cut pro? [URL] ...
