I want to export some old emails from my old hotmail account, as I now use Gmail and the hotmail account never gets used. How would I ' export' emails from my hotmail account and add them to a new folder in Mac Mail without adding the account as I don't want to receive any email from my old hotmail account.
View 3 RepliesThis may be purely coincidence but within the first 2-3 days of shifting over to outlook 2011, none of my emails sent to user@hotmail.com are going through. I get a system mail admin return e-mail saying unable to deliver for 4 hours. Basically saying hotmail.com is not responding. I have never had this problem on mac mail or outlook for the PC. Is this coincidence or does Outlook 2011 get the blame?

So when I update/send emails/move email from one folder to another on my mac they update online and on my business partners (PC), and the same at the other end so it update son my Mac.
I also need to be able to send HTML e-newsletters.
This is for my business with 6000+ email addresses so I don't want to really have to change my works email address and use googlemail instead or something.
Currently I use a combination of Windows Live Mail (its actually pretty good for hotmail) and Outlook 2003 (flakey at times but great and easy for sending HTML emails).
I have my hotmail synced to go into mail on my macbook and it works great. How do I get that to work on my iphone using cloud? The only email that is coming to my iphone is my [url]... account which I dont really use.

I had a mac air and when I set up the e-mail, I received mail with no problem. Why am I not receiving mails on my Mac Pro?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI setup my hotmail in Mail some time ago. And I guess I forgot some setting, because what happend was that ALL my email was transfered from the hotmail server to my local Mail on OSX. How do I transfer them back to the hotmail server, without loosing date stamp?
I am thinking of i.e:
1. Create some pst file (or alike) that can be uploaded to Hotmail.
2. Find some setting that will sync the emails back to hotmail.

I have about 10 of them done already, with each side of the record in its own garageband project. Now i need to go about splitting each side into separate tracks. Is there an app designed to streamline this process? I've tried splitting the tracks apart in garageband but it just takes forever.I recall hearing that Toast has an app designed to record vinyls, is that what im looking for?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having a remarkably difficult time finding a "quick and easy" method of doing precise and/or easy screen captures from a DVD.
Things I've tried:
VLC: Works, but recent builds have been crashing like crazy when playing DVDs, so are nearly unusable for that. (Anybody else been experiencing this?) Also lacks the ability to capture a precise frame, since there are no "step forward/back" controls.
MPlayer OSX Extended: Left to its own devices, can't handle playback of many commercial DVDs--it stops playing at the first title change, so is useless. If I use FairMount to unprotect the DVD I can play the .VOB files directly with it, which is semi-functional, but it also lacks precision--no single-frame step commands, and if you do a screencap when it's paused you actually get a frame or two later. Also, this leaves you guessing what part is in what .VOB file, and it chokes badly on multi-angle video.
DVD Player + screencap app: This also works, but I really just want the DVD frame, so I end up having to manually crop out the window border, which is time consuming.
My goal is to come up with a smooth enough workflow I can do, say, a half-dozen screencaps from a bunch of titles quickly, so my primary goal is efficiency. (It's for movie reviews, so it's even completely legal under fair use, if probably anti-DMCA due to the stupid encryption loophole). Secondary is to include deinterlacing and being able to more precisely select a frame.
I want to upload a few big dmgs and so need to split them.Any recommendations for cheap or free apps that will do this?Or within Mac OSX - a tutorial?

I inputted the information correctly, because all of my folders are now showing. But none of my mail is loading. I am guessing the size is to big? I emptied the cache, and that did nothing.

After this I tried to import my old backedup emails from the dmg that was created from my erasure and Mail cannot see them. It tells me there are no valid mbox files. I've tried selecting every folder all the way out to the full Mail folder and no luck.

I have an Excel worksheet of about 200 names, street addresses, and email addresses, one contact in each row. One column is the email addresses, which is all I want. If I could get the names too that would be nice. Â
I try the Contacts import command, but cannot import the section of the worksheet I want. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I highlight the contacts column in the worksheet and go to the file with the Contacts import command and find it is "dimmed" -- I cannot click on it.
I have recently deleted an old hotmail account. It was never used and had been hacked. Now that it is deleted, whenever anyone sends me an email to my .Mac account they are given a failed delivery notification. It says that the hotmail address is no longer active. I am getting what they have sent as it's addressed to the .Mac address though. The thing is I have never knowingly linked these accounts. I have been through all the system preferences and there is no mention of them being linked.

I was able to download my messages and send them BUT: - My Hotmail have few folders on the InBox and I can't see it on Mac Mail. - Once I read a Hotmail email message on Mac Mail it does not update on my Hotmail (server) account displaying that it has been read. - When I delete a Hotmail message on my Mac Mail it does not update on my Hotmail (server) account. Now, it will send emails happily, but it refuses to receive emails. The program I use is HttpMail Plugin Version Leopard 1.53 (by daniel parnell). Its worked up till this last update on software. I've also tried Firefox and my iPhone's Safari and it works fine.
Has anyone else been experiencing these problems?

Setting up hotmail in Entourage. I've tried countless solutions but none seem to work in my case. The problem seems to be that I can't send or receive mail (typical problem). POP server is pop3.live and I've entered my hotmail address and password. The smtp server is [URL]. I've tried many combinations of POP and smtp ports like,
110, 25 (respectively) Error message: -3259
225, 25 Error message: -3259
995, 25 -17897
I've also had Error message -16999 but I've forgotten which combination I had for that. In advanced options for POP server, SSL and Secure Password is checked; for smtp server, SSL and require authentication are checked. I've tried using the same settings as mail server and also logging on using my Account ID and Password. Also, I have a rule set up for send and receive every 1 minute (Entourage doesn't seem to like that; it wants me to do it every 15 minutes which isn't suitable). It seems like I've exhausted all possibilities and I still can't send or receive my emails! The odd thing is that when I initially set up my hotmail account, it was able to download all the messages from the server without a hitch.
I can't figure out how to sync it with my hotmail address. I have thunderbird and it works well with that, but i want the full mac experience. I don't wanna get another email address. Does anyone know how to link a hotmail address with mac mail?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI just installed Mac Office 2011 and am having trouble connecting my hotmail account to Outlook. I go to add my hotmail account and everything seems to work, but it does not show up on the left side under inbox or anything. When I go back into settings, it shows the hotmail as my default account, but I can't see any of my messages. Also, periodically alerts pop up in the bottom right hand corner showing "new" messages, however they are really, really old emails from my hotmail account.
I can click on the alert and read the old message, but I can't find where those messages are on Outlook. I have successfully added my gmail account and my home university's account. One other thing to mention, when I delete the hotmail acct and try to add it again, it always adds "On my computer" under the inbox section. This "inbox" keeps popping up with old old emails. So I go into preferences/general and hide it.
