May 16, 2010I want to upload a few big dmgs and so need to split them.Any recommendations for cheap or free apps that will do this?Or within Mac OSX - a tutorial?

Applications :: Easiest Way To Split Recorded Tracks?
Jan 7, 2010I have a huge box of records (probably about 50 or so) that i am recording in order to put on CD. I have about 10 of them done already, with each side of the record in its own garageband project. Now i need to go about splitting each side into separate tracks. Is there an app designed to streamline this process? I've tried splitting the tracks apart in garageband but it just takes forever.I recall hearing that Toast has an app designed to record vinyls, is that what im looking for?

Jan 3, 2011I have a Samsung external drive from which I can play and view these small discs that are not compatable with iMac. I need to upload from these discs to a New Project or a New Event in iMovie. I cannot figure a way to upload for editing and produce a finished movie. My iMac forced me to get a Canon HF-R100 camcorder with an SD card for the iMac SD slot.

Jan 10, 2010I've been having a remarkably difficult time finding a "quick and easy" method of doing precise and/or easy screen captures from a DVD.
Things I've tried:
VLC: Works, but recent builds have been crashing like crazy when playing DVDs, so are nearly unusable for that. (Anybody else been experiencing this?) Also lacks the ability to capture a precise frame, since there are no "step forward/back" controls.
MPlayer OSX Extended: Left to its own devices, can't handle playback of many commercial DVDs--it stops playing at the first title change, so is useless. If I use FairMount to unprotect the DVD I can play the .VOB files directly with it, which is semi-functional, but it also lacks precision--no single-frame step commands, and if you do a screencap when it's paused you actually get a frame or two later. Also, this leaves you guessing what part is in what .VOB file, and it chokes badly on multi-angle video.
DVD Player + screencap app: This also works, but I really just want the DVD frame, so I end up having to manually crop out the window border, which is time consuming.
My goal is to come up with a smooth enough workflow I can do, say, a half-dozen screencaps from a bunch of titles quickly, so my primary goal is efficiency. (It's for movie reviews, so it's even completely legal under fair use, if probably anti-DMCA due to the stupid encryption loophole). Secondary is to include deinterlacing and being able to more precisely select a frame.

Jul 27, 2005This may be the dumbest post in history, but is there an easier way to play a full album in itunes than having to make a separate playlist out of the album or having to check the box on every single track on the album? This seems slightly more complicated than it needs to be, but I can't figure out any other way to do it.

Is there an easier way to do that then opening up the file, extracting a single page, saving that page, then repeating 9 times?

Feb 21, 2009I would like a little more information on create a split rar archive in OS X 10.4.11. At the moment I have downloaded winrar and copied the rar file to /bin/ and I can execute the command

to create a split archive, each part 50mb each.
But the only problem with this is that it will create files using the extension .part#.rar and I would like it to use .r00 .r01 .r02 etc.

Sep 28, 2009Does anybody know a good program to split a pdf page in two? Not splitting a pdf into two pdf's, but one page into two pages within the pdf.
I have some articles at work that were photocopied 2 pages into 1. Now they are pdf's, but I want to split each of those pages in half. I have had terrible luck with PDF clerk pro, where I have to take 8 steps and it makes duplicates of all pages in the process.
I have documents with a large number of pages, so I'd prefer not to having to do it one page at a time.

Jun 28, 2010Tried a search but was tough to wade through the many threads - so forgive me if this is an oft-asked question:I record continuous DJ mixes straight from vinyl records -> mixer -> macbookpro running garageband. I do all of my mixes in one take and no post-processing or anything like that. So my technical production skills are lacking, to say the least. However, I can't stand the one and half hour long single track.
Is it possible to add track markers and track names within garageband - but do so in a way that no gaps are between songs - then export the whole thing as a file for download (or, rarely, burn to a CD)?This way, the listener can skip around to their favorite song, or listen to the whole thing with no gaps to ruin the "journey"

Oct 18, 2010It's remarkably annoying...if I want to upload photos onto my flickr account, I have to move all my iPhoto pics into a picture folder first, and then upload it from there.
Is there any way I can just click upload and browse through and choose my photos straight from iPhoto?
I'm new on these forums so I don't really know how to navigate my way around. This is my first mac ever (macbook pro 13) and I've had it for several months.
