Applications :: Band's Entire Website Gone
Nov 16, 2008Just a few minutes ago, I pulled up iWeb to work on my band's website, only to find that it's nearly all gone. Only one page of the site remains, and everything else just shows a blank screen. When I try and publish it to a folder, it gives me "Publishing error, an unknown error occured." I simply can't have this happen. This website has taken me over a year to create, and now it's trashed. Where does iWeb store the website? Is there some way I can get it back? I've tried everything, but have had no luck.

Feb 11, 2009Need some recommendations to doing full image backups of my entire hard drive.I currently use Acronis TrueImage 11 for my PC's but since i have a Macbook, i need to be able to backup both my HFSJ partition (OS X) and my NTFS boot camp partition (Vista).Acronis TI does not read HFSJ partitons and will only backup my NTFS partition.Simply put. I want to have backup images of my entire drive in the event my drive takes a dump.

Mar 2, 2010Here's my problem: I'd very much like to download an embedded flash video from this page: http://bit.ly/d24fEU. (One has to click 'start' for the flash to load.)
But web developers have become wily it seems. No longer do the old methods appear to work. I've tried: Apps for downloading youtube videos, using the Activity window in Safari (only a small SWF file of about 21kb appears in the activity window), numerous Firefox plugins� To no avail.
There are apparently apps for Windows that can manage to download these tricky types of videos, is there anything or any method on the Mac? I've been ripping my hair out trying. I've searched the forum, but none of the suggested methods work.
Applications :: Any Program To Download Website For Offline Viewing
Jan 18, 2009I am looking for a program to download websites for later offline viewing. I am spending tomorrow with my grandmother and she doesn't have the internets but I'd like to download some free programming manuals for later viewing. Unfortunately they don't have a PDF. Internet Explorer for Mac had a really nice feature where you could download a site for later offline viewing. I haven't seen a comparable feature in any other browser.

Windows On Mac :: Backup Strategy For Entire Disk Image?
Dec 31, 2009I'm just curious as to what everyone's backup strategy for Windows is? I've been exploring the options of the Windows XP Backup utility, but I also like being able to have a entire disk image with Winclone. However there's no way to back up incrementally with Winclone. I'm sort of mum on both options, or would like to know if there's a better option? So what have the other Boot Camp participants been doing for a Windows backup?

Dec 2, 2010I bought Office 2011 for mac from a reputable academic download company. I downloaded the file today and tried to launch the disk image, but when I do I just get a message that it couldn't be launched because it is 'unrecognised'. Why? I did a Yahoo search but couldn't find an answer. Would some bright spark amongst you please come to my aid?
I am using a new MBA running Snow Leopard, if that makes a difference.

Jul 2, 2009When I try to download something from download.com or other websites, it just goes to a blank page and the download never happen, I open the download tab and saw it was blank.

Windows On Mac :: External Display - Image Not Filling Entire Screen?
Dec 24, 2009I just bought a tv to use as a external monitor for my mac however when i boot into windows 7 the resolution (1080p) is fine but its not filling the screen completely, there is 1 inch of black on the top and bottom and about 1.5 inches of black on the left and right sides. it does not do this when i am booted into osx.
i think this could be because of how hdtv's are made and the resolution isn't exact (usually a little bit greater) so windows isn't "stretching" the image to fill the screen. i think osx does it automatically but windows doesn't. if this is the problem how do i get windows to stretch the image? i tried switching the screen mode on my tv's remote but that didn't work.

Jan 18, 2010I'm wondering if the notebook is powerful enough to do digital video editing, some web site design, image manipulation and digital art? I was thinking of using the Mac Pro a long with a graphics tablet and secondary monitor via an USB external graphics adapter for a three monitor setup. I would bump the ram and possibly get an SSD using the original internal hard drive as an external.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Recovery Installer Still Trying To Download 4gig Image From Internet
May 18, 2012I just bought an SSD for my MacBook Pro and I am trying to use a Lion recovery installation USB hard drive that I created when Lion was first launched. I have successfully used this drive to install Lion on my old MacBook but I can't actually remember using it for this MacBook Pro.
When I try and do a clean install of Lion on my MacBook Pro with this new SSD, instead of installing from the drive like I have successfully done in the past, it's trying to download a 4.044 GB package from the Internet. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't estimating 5-6 hours to download and it's already failed to download twice?
I figure it's downloading it again for few possible reasons.
1. There is a more current installer available than this one I am using so its trying to download a current version.
2. I can't use this installer because it was was created on a different MacBook.
What the reason might Be?

Dec 12, 2009im looking to get a 10,000rpm velociraptor drive and transport all of my current apps and osx from the standard 320 gb drive to the velociraptor. how would i go about doing this? would i need to save everything on an external drive and then transfer it to the velociraptor? or could i just insert the velociraptor into drive bay 2 and then drag everything from the 320 gb hdd in drive bay 1 onto the velociraptor? ive never installed an os on a computer before so this might sound like a dumb question but any information that you might have would be helpful.
