ITunes :: On Mac - Audio Songs Are Played Very Poorly?
Jun 4, 2012What is the cause of any audio songs played through iTunes since the most recent update to playback very poorly, low volume, low quality and volume phases in and out. I don't think it is the speakers, they work fine in other apps???

Jan 18, 2010I downloaded my first TV show from iTunes for the first time the other day. But, sadly, when I go to play it, all I can get is the audio and absolutely no visual. Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? I have iTunes version 9 and use Mac OSX, version 10.5.8. I've already tried downloading the latest version of Quicktime to see if that would help but to no avail.

Jan 7, 2011Sometimes I will notice the audio is out of sync on my iTunes store bought videos. Rebooting the computer helps until the next time. This really started to become a problem over the last few months. This is a 15" MBP, 2009 bought in March, 4GB ram. Storage is on a 1TB WD drive in a LaCie 2 big tripple enclosure with firewire. No extra software installed and the computer is only used for iTunes and internet. Has all updates.

Jan 2, 2009I'm new to iTunes and I haven't found a convinient way to resume an album after I closing itunes. Let's say I'm playing an album (no playlist just a double click on the album), so that I see all track titles listed: Now 2 questions: Whats the easiest way to resume to this view, after e.g. browsing the iTunes store, to select another song from the currently playing album? When I close iTunes how can I resume playing the last played album? I can replay the last played song easily by selecting the last played playlist. But then I can't replay the complete album.

Jan 24, 2009I opened the iTunes equalizer and it wasn't showing on the desktop. I tried using Expose (show all windows) and I see the equalizer "open". But when I exit Expose I see my Equalizer flies up and behind (or possibly over) the toolbar on top. I tried everything I could, but to no prevail. There was no way that I could possibly click behind the toolbar, I tried to bring all the windows up front and that didn't work. Tried clicking on the equalizer from Expose and it flies up again. Is there any other way to bring the little window back?

I have all of my music stored in the default location for iTunes and when I play a file outside of iTunes, it will add it to the library database.

Nov 18, 2009With Itunes 9, every song I play gets added to the Itunes library, even if I don't want it there. I have Itunes as my default music player on a Windows 7 (64-bit) computer. For example, if in windows explorer, I click on an MP3 file that is not in the Itunes library, Itunes starts up and plays the song (which is fine), but also it adds the song to the itunes library (which I don't want). I don't see any options to change this behavior.

Jun 30, 2007I own a PowerMac G5 but for my anniversary my girlfriend got me a G4 Cube because she knew how much I loved 'em. I just found out that you need USB speakers.
1. (Even though I don't have speakers) When I put an audio cd in the CUBE.. it recognizes it, but when I hit the play button on iTunes, the swirling beach-ball will just sit there. What's up with that?

Jan 18, 2009I've run into an odd problem where iTunes (v8.0.2.20 Windows Vista) will not add, play or do anything with audio files (mp3) that it has previously played in the past (same version of iTunes). It played it one day, then the album disappeared and will not allow it to be added again, it does how ever work perfectly in Quicktime player, Winamp, WMP and other players. When I use Add Folder to Library, I get a quick "Processing files" dialogue, then it disappears (Same if I drag the folder into the library itself), and when I try to play the files individually, nothing happens at all. I've tried everything short of reencoding the files, which I want to save as a last resort (So as to not lose audio quality) and Ripping the CD again isn't an option since I no longer have the original after my car was broken into.

Sep 17, 2009I have a new MBP that came with Snow Leopard and I use it mostly for internet and iTunes for videos. I've noticed that watching videos through Front Row does not update the last played and play counts in iTunes. They just show as partially watched with half a blue dot.
I'm wondering how many other people have this happening as well.Did your computer come with Snow Leopard? Did you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard?

Mar 12, 2012I have some audio books that i have on CD which I ripped and they show up under the "music" section on the sidebar in iTunes 10.5.3 (3) even though I set the genre to "Audio book" (in "get info") How can I get it to appear under the "books" section like audio books purchased on the iTunes store? It's really annoying to be playing my music library shuffled and then have to skip through audio book chapters. I realize that I could make a playlist with only music, but this seems pretty counterintuitive as I'd have to update it every time I added a new song.

Aug 25, 2014iTunes (11.3.1) keeps deleting episodes of podcasts when I auto-sync podcasts on my computer with my iPod (Classic 160 GB.). However, this only happens with some podcasts. This is in spite of the fact that I've checked all available boxes in the standard settings, and the particular settings for each specific podcast, as "Do not delete any played episodes."Â
Some of the podcasts no longer exist, so if they disappear from my computer or iPod they're just gone forever.
ITunes :: Podcasts Skipping And Scratching When Played On IPhone?
Jun 24, 2012When playing podcasts on my iPhones, the audio skips and scratches and sometimes freezes.  It does NOT do this with audiobooks downloaded from Autible.com or music from the iTunes store or ripped from CDs. I am having this problem on multiple iPhones. The 3GS is over two years old and the 4S is brand new. The software and firmware for both devices is up to date. For these reasons, I don't think it is related to the iPhones.  It started very recently (June 2012). It occurs on the headphone jack and on music systems that connect through the dock. It occurs when using the stock music player application. I am loading the audio files via stock iTunes, which is up to date. I wonder if it is realated to the last iTunes update.

Jun 5, 2014My husband (who has my old iMac) inserted a CD that a friend gave him into his disk drive. He played the disk in iTunes, but then could not get it to eject. I came over to "help" and after clicking the eject button in ITunes and then holdiing the eject button on the keyboard down for some time, the drive is stuck in kind of a loop trying to eject the CD. Here are the things that we have tried:Â
restarting the iMac
shutting it down and rebooting after waiting a while
shutting it down and unplugging it. Waiting for a while and then plugging it back in and rebooting
rebooting while holding the eject button down (on keyboard)
resetting the PRAM by holding down option-command-p-r while booting

Jun 23, 2014I have a playlist that I burned to cd. Worked in my car but not on my friend's cd player. All of the files burned as mpeg. I guess that is what my import settings are set to. I know how to change this in preferences. I don't know which file is best to choose that would play in about any cd player. My choices are mp3 encoder, wav encoder, apple lossless encoder, aiff encoder, aac encoder.
