Have created a smart playlist for audiobooks that I haven't listened to. However since a restore of my library, most of them are showing up. Is there a way to mark audiobooks as listened to, just like music/tv shows etc?

I know I can make a data DVD, but that is not what I want to do, because they are audio files. My main issue is that I want to burn the audiobooks to audio CD, but the quality always comes out very poor. I have been searching around to see if there was a way to make itunes burn to a disc image, but I was out of luck. Basically, I only have CD-RW and DVD+R DL and DVD-R blank discs, so I would need to go out and buy CD-R, if it were my only option. So far, I have tried to burn to CD-RW at both maximum possible and 2x, both of which had poor audio quality, when I tested in VLC, since iTunes would not play any of the tracks straight from the disc. How can I burn audio CDs to CD-RWs from iTunes without the resulting audio having static sound, or is there a script I can type up to have iTunes think a disc image is a blank disc, or should I just buy CD-Rs?

My problem is that on the ipod, when I go to audiobooks, it's just a list of individual tracks. Many of them have been copied from my CDs so there's many files per audiobook (that's how I like it--so I'd rather not put them in one gigatic file per book.
Right now, my audiobooks just show a list, like if I went under | Music > Songs | and it just lists all my songs on the ipod.Is there a way to set up the audiobooks on an ipod so that when I get on my ipod I can go...

I have ripped an 8-CD audiobook onto my iTunes. I would like to figure out how to take the 215 "tracks", and turn them into a singular audiobook.

Audiobooks no longer play on any device that I have: ipods, MacBook, iphone... The first 5 minutes or so play and then the track completely stops. The behaviour is slightly different on different devices. On the MacBook, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then skips on to the next book.
On the iPods, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then just stops. On the iPhone the volume stops after around 5 mins though the track keeps playing forwards. This must be a problem with the iTunes 10.6.3 software?
How to import AudioBooks from Macbook OS 10.4.1 onto an Ipad2?
I have many audiobooks which I am currently attempting to have re-loaded via the Apple Support network and have requested that these Audiobooks purchased in good faith between 2008 - 2009 be made available for download on our recently purchased Ipad2 via ITunes. This download procedure has worked very well for the 18 songs purchased in the same period. However, I have followed a discussion on the Apple Support community by TASA posted on the Nov 13 2011 and have made a similar polite request to the Apple Support afficionados, so far with no success. My question is this How can i transfer the Audiobook files which appear as m4b across to the Ipad2. I cannot sync the MacBook because the operating system is a mismatch. Attempting to use a camera connection kit by Apple and using an SD card to copy a single audi file has not worked. What other recourse of action is there?
It is all very well suggesting that Audiobooks can only be downloaded once, as has been mentioned by a discussion pundit. However this was not in the Terms and Conditions from 2008, of which I have a copy.

When I download audiobooks, they come in parts, i.e. CD1, CD2, etc. To make life easier, I join them back into ONE file so when I play it on my iPod, it's listed as one song rather than 100. Make sense so far?
When I join them, the play back time is off. So if the whole audiobook is 12 hours, but chapter 1 is 45 minutes, the play time for the entire audiobook, that I joined, is 45 minutes. When I play it on the iPod, it will play PAST the 45 minute mark, but I cannot rewind or fastforward because the ticker just stays there. On iTunes, it will not play past the 45 minute mark.
I've tried to manually change the time in iTunes but it doesnt change. Does anyone have experience with this/tips to help? I have a lot of audiobooks that are really affected by this.

Recently downloaded audiobooks are not appearing in the 'BOOKS' category, but in the main music library. I have tried dragging and dropping so that they appear there, but to no avail. Have also changed the info so that it reads 'books' or 'audiobooks' but they will not appear in the Books section of my library which makes finding them tricky. I have previously downloaded titles and they have been recognised as Audiobooks and been properly categorized. (These recent titles have been downloaded from Audiogo. )

Most audio books, I either want to listen to only once, or at long intervals. I would like to do the following: Create a playlist to sync to my iphone: The smart playlist has the following criteria:
A: The genre is AudioBooks.
B: The playcount is 0.
C: Pick 25 at random
D: Include partially played books.
The latter is the show stopper. How do I make sure that a book I started to listen to one time is still on the playlist the next time after I sync my phone. I'm willing to have a second playlist of "Books in progress" If it can't be done directly any pointers to an applescript for this?

I'm new to iTunes and I haven't found a convinient way to resume an album after I closing itunes. Let's say I'm playing an album (no playlist just a double click on the album), so that I see all track titles listed: Now 2 questions: Whats the easiest way to resume to this view, after e.g. browsing the iTunes store, to select another song from the currently playing album? When I close iTunes how can I resume playing the last played album? I can replay the last played song easily by selecting the last played playlist. But then I can't replay the complete album.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI opened the iTunes equalizer and it wasn't showing on the desktop. I tried using Expose (show all windows) and I see the equalizer "open". But when I exit Expose I see my Equalizer flies up and behind (or possibly over) the toolbar on top. I tried everything I could, but to no prevail. There was no way that I could possibly click behind the toolbar, I tried to bring all the windows up front and that didn't work. Tried clicking on the equalizer from Expose and it flies up again. Is there any other way to bring the little window back?

iTunes (11.3.1) keeps deleting episodes of podcasts when I auto-sync podcasts on my computer with my iPod (Classic 160 GB.). However, this only happens with some podcasts. This is in spite of the fact that I've checked all available boxes in the standard settings, and the particular settings for each specific podcast, as "Do not delete any played episodes."
Some of the podcasts no longer exist, so if they disappear from my computer or iPod they're just gone forever.
I bought a chapter of the Greek tv show today and is not playing the audio.

I have all of my music stored in the default location for iTunes and when I play a file outside of iTunes, it will add it to the library database.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith Itunes 9, every song I play gets added to the Itunes library, even if I don't want it there. I have Itunes as my default music player on a Windows 7 (64-bit) computer. For example, if in windows explorer, I click on an MP3 file that is not in the Itunes library, Itunes starts up and plays the song (which is fine), but also it adds the song to the itunes library (which I don't want). I don't see any options to change this behavior.

It does NOT do this with audiobooks downloaded from Autible.com or music from the iTunes store or ripped from CDs. I am having this problem on multiple iPhones. The 3GS is over two years old and the 4S is brand new. The software and firmware for both devices is up to date. For these reasons, I don't think it is related to the iPhones. It started very recently (June 2012). It occurs on the headphone jack and on music systems that connect through the dock. It occurs when using the stock music player application. I am loading the audio files via stock iTunes, which is up to date. I wonder if it is realated to the last iTunes update.

I came over to "help" and after clicking the eject button in ITunes and then holdiing the eject button on the keyboard down for some time, the drive is stuck in kind of a loop trying to eject the CD. Here are the things that we have tried:
restarting the iMac
shutting it down and rebooting after waiting a while
shutting it down and unplugging it. Waiting for a while and then plugging it back in and rebooting
rebooting while holding the eject button down (on keyboard)
resetting the PRAM by holding down option-command-p-r while booting

I have a playlist that I burned to cd. Worked in my car but not on my friend's cd player. All of the files burned as mpeg. I guess that is what my import settings are set to. I know how to change this in preferences. I don't know which file is best to choose that would play in about any cd player. My choices are mp3 encoder, wav encoder, apple lossless encoder, aiff encoder, aac encoder. I am burning it to a memorex cd-R, 52 X 700 mb. iTunes 11.1.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've run into an odd problem where iTunes (v8.0.2.20 Windows Vista) will not add, play or do anything with audio files (mp3) that it has previously played in the past (same version of iTunes). It played it one day, then the album disappeared and will not allow it to be added again, it does how ever work perfectly in Quicktime player, Winamp, WMP and other players. When I use Add Folder to Library, I get a quick "Processing files" dialogue, then it disappears (Same if I drag the folder into the library itself), and when I try to play the files individually, nothing happens at all. I've tried everything short of reencoding the files, which I want to save as a last resort (So as to not lose audio quality) and Ripping the CD again isn't an option since I no longer have the original after my car was broken into.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new MBP that came with Snow Leopard and I use it mostly for internet and iTunes for videos. I've noticed that watching videos through Front Row does not update the last played and play counts in iTunes. They just show as partially watched with half a blue dot.
I'm wondering how many other people have this happening as well.Did your computer come with Snow Leopard? Did you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard?
I have reinstalled my system (via Lion's system restore), reinstalled iTunes, including reseting the library and reimporting media. Same thing. Everything I hit play, or another songs plays at the end of another, the dock & finder relaunches. Everything else is flawless. I have another OS on another drive, for music, which shares the library and it's fine. 10.7.4 OS's & 10.6.3 iTunes.
