View 4 RepliesI would like to scan some documents of printed text with my HP Photosmart All-in-One, convert the image to a text file and then convert the text file to audio and load that into my iPhone so that I can listen to it while I'm doing other things. The question is, are there any apps that do all of this or some set of apps to do this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a program that can turn scanned line art (that's been done with pen and paper) into a computer image that acts as if it were drawn straight on the computer (for example, you could fill a certain section with colour). Either automatically or if you can have it in the background, trace over it with your mouse tools, then take it away.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm looking to take scanned pages and convert them into text files (pdfs that i can search)... i've heard that acrobat pro can do it (i've tried the "paper capture" thing, but with no luck...?), and also heard that omnipage pro can do it (i don't have it though)...

I have been using MassReplaceIt to put named anchors on a couple of my web pages. I was using iWeb'08. I got a new MacBookPro (love it) which has iWeb'09 installed. '09 has converted the text on the two pages (only those two) that had the named anchors to graphics. Now my anchors won't work. Is there any way around this? What's happening is MassReplaceIt reads text, but my text has been turned into a graphic - I think.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a whole bunch of swf files, they all contain basically what is a printed page. I would like to convert them into a PDF/Image. I have tried everything, flash decompilers result in a whole bunch of text/image files all broken up into bits of the page, with no formatting. When I view the swf files with a swf viewer, say iSwiff, the page flashes up for a brief second, then goes away. Tried multiple viewers, including firefox. If I do a screen recording then I can see the page, but only for one video frame. I have tried swf to image/video converters, they only say the file has 1 frame, and that frame has nothing on it. How can I convert these swf files to ANY other format than this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedApparently, there are two ways to convert disk images in CDR format to ISO format:
1. Rename diskimage.cdr to diskimage.iso
Or
2. hdiutil makehybrid -iso -joliet -o diskimage.iso diskimage.cdr
The first method is really quick while the second method takes quite a long time. Do the two methods yield the same ISO file? In particular, I would like to convert a bootable CDR disk image to an ISO disk image.
I have a large text file, and I'd like to turn each page of the text file into a slide in a presentation (PowerPoint, I guess, though I'm open to alternatives as long as they're cross-platform and idiot-proof). Is there any way to do this using OpenOffice or NeoOffice? The text file is currently in RTF (TextEdit) form, so I can easily convert it to .doc or PDF. Formatting should be maintained, but it's nothing too complex; just some boldface and centering. I'm looking to make cue slides out of the lines of a play. I have all the lines, and I can re-paginate it easily enough, but I'm at a loss as to how to make slides out of it. I don't have the time/patience to manually create hundreds of slides and paste in each line one by one.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Notes and connected to iCloud. 2 machines are linked to sync through iCloud. A new Macbook Air and a 2010 vintage Mini Mac.Both running os X 10.9.5 Maverick. After using Notes successfully and continuing to create additional Notes to the app, suddenly I found my largest Notes file, and only this Note, had self converted to html format with this at the heading of the Note:
--Apple-Mail=_8515641A-059B-4C8E-88ED-5A5F96EEB276
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Content-Type: text/html;
charset=utf-8
<html><head></head><body><p>
The rest of the text in the note had been encased in html code and the note had lost about half way through the rest of the text information - gone.Is this a problem derived from iCloud or from the Notes app?Is there a known limit to the size a Note can be?
Info:
Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Mac Air OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently put up an e-commerce site and as part of entering products I can input images in 3 sizes.
1. 100 x 80 which is used for photos put on the main page of the website to be clicked on for further information
2. 200 x 250 to be used for the image in the actual product description
3. 300 x 400 to be used as a larger photo as a pop-up picture if someone wants to see a larger picture.
The pictures can vary in size but unless the variation is small the pictures will all very in size on the main page of my website which will give it a bad appearance.
Unfortunately when I get stock photos many vary in size. I want to know if there's an easy way to resize pictures. The only concerns I have is that making them larger may make them appear stretched or making them smaller may give the opposite appearance. Also, since I am doing this to many pictures I want a solution that is quick and easy, maybe as simple as taking a picture, choosing a new size, and saving it with the change.
I currently have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 with PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Fireworks but am not sure if this does it in an easy way and of course I prefer to use Mac over Windows
I want to capture selections on my screen and add comments. Is there a program out there that will allow me to do that? I don't like the "grab it" program because it saves the captured file in a Tiff format instead of a Jpeg format.

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to specify which folders I want to copy to my external drive, updating existing files within it and copying new ones.
I don't want to backup settings, my whole harddrive nor make a bootable backup. Just something to backup what I want to backup and where.
Not sure if Time Machine can do that, but it wants me to reformat my external before I can even find out..and considering how much is on there, I really don't want to have to remove that all elsewhere while doing so. [Don't think I could anyway, none of my internal drives have that much space.]
So, does anyone know of a relatively painless backup app that could do simply what I want? Doesn't sound all that complicated in comparison to some of the more convoluted backup apps I keep finding.
