App Store :: Remove App Store Account That Isn't Mine?
Mar 12, 2012
I open App Store application and it shows that I have 1 update available for an app I never purchased. I try clicking the update button and get the message "You have updates available for other accounts: Sign in to [url]... to update applications for that account." -- I have no clue what this account is or where it came from but it's not mine. MY updates seem to be working OK but I can't get rid of this 1 update available message.
I've tried all the different methods I can find of deleting/mark as hidden but I keep getting annoying weekly updates come through. I don't like the game and will never play it but it seems without starting a new Apple ID and losing everything I have paid for on iPhone and Mac. I am stuck with a continual App Store badge icon for a game I don't want.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I know what it is, so I know simply deleting it won't help. I don't understand why it's suddenly showing up on the desktop though! More of a nuisance than anything.
I went to run some updates and found a copy of Angry Birds, bought with an ID attached to a Russian email address. I didn't recognise it, so it looks pretty dodgy.Â

I recently moved from France to the USA. So, I modified my Apple account to USA, but I losted all my purchases. Is there a way to recover them ? Or is it still on the French store, so I just have to re-change my country to found my precedent purchases ?
I purchased quite a few apps on my husband's iTune because we synched on the same computer. Now that I am using the iCloud I want my own iTune account so that my husband's devices don't synch with my devices. Do I have to purchase the apps again in my new account or can I transfer them from my husband's account?
Is there a way to remove an app from the App store? I have one the company accepted my iTunes receipt to transfer it from the App store to their Web site because they offer more with their Website version the App store can't offer (enhancements and subscription). I removed it from the purchase list but it's still in the update list, and it's several versions behind now. How can I remove it?
Does anyone know how one would go about disabling and removing the Mac App Store outside of using Parental Controls? Here's what I've tried:
1. Trashing App Store.app entirely - which seems to re-assign the "App Store" link in the Apple menu back to "Mac OS X Downloads..."; the only problem is that when you attempt to open a file type that OS X doesnt recognize, the dialog asks you if you want to search the App Store at which point you hit the button and it does nothing. Not a proper solution.
I have just upgraded to 10.6.6 and App Store has installed itself on the Dock. I wish to remove it from the Dock as (a) I am unlikely to use it, and (b) I don't want a cluttered Dock.
However whenever I drag the icon off the dock and it disappears in the traditional cloud of smoke, the next time I start up the computer the icon is back on the dock.
I just bought a MacBook Pro and for some reason there is an update available for angry birds. When i try to update it tells me i have to log on to an account that is not mine. Even crazier, I've never in my life saw that Apple ID before and i only logged on with my own ID on my brand new Mac. I know it's a small thing but it is annoying.
When my ex and I bought our phones with both loaded them on our computer, I used my Apple ID that I had previous and he never signed up for one. Now, I have just found out that he has been using my account to download apps, they have been free, and has access to some features in my phone. Â
How do I remove him from having access? Do I just change my password?Â
Will the apps that he has downloaded still be available to him and if so, what happens if there are updates?Â
I have problem on updating some apps in "appstore". It doesn't work when I click " Updates ". It keep asking me at the below : -Â "To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."Â In fact, I have 2 apple ID. 1 for my iPhone 4S & 1 for my MacPro book. I tried to use both of the Apple ID, it doesn't work?
It is called "how to remove app from launchpad" but actually talks about deleting the app by means of launchpad. So how these actions are actually done? I mean, there's a lot of apps I do not need in the launchpad - like small utilities I rarely use. Yes, i know I can arrange them into folders and move these to some pages of the launchpad, but still. If they write "remove from launch pad" there must be a way to do exactly that.
I've been using it briefly and it seems to be relatively reliable however tonight I uploaded a photo from my iphoto to another facebook account for someone and now their account is in my iphoto alongside mine. Any idea how to delete their facebook account integration but keep mine intact. I love using iPhoto with my facebook but I don't really want someone elses up there. This is probably a simple fix, I however can't seem to find the solution.
I have £30 left in my app store account ( which was from a gift card) and want to buy an app for £35. Will this amount be taken as a whole (£35) from a card...Or only the £5 remaining?
Two apps (GarageBand and IPhoto) appeared in my App Store updates. When I click to update them, it says I need to sign into account I used to purchase... I only have one account- I double checked the password and it is correct. It also will allow me to download other items but not update these...
Looking at my account in the App Store, I found an item, which I have not downloaded, listed as purchased.I did not purchase this item. How do I get rid of it?
I bought a bunch of itunes cards to get some money into my itunes app store account, but when I try to purchase Logic Pro 9, the app store directs me to a page with credit card or paypal buttons. I want to use the money in my itunes account. How do I go about this?
we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization! This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again.
having difficulty with accessing app store account since updating to 10.7.3Â Cant see my purchased apps or get into my account pages since i updated to 10.7.3 this morning also struggles with updates page.
I'm able to make a free account on mac app store. There only three option comes under payment method that is VISA MASTER CARD & AMEX. nothing like free option.
