Just installed Mavericks and it then updated iPhoto and then iPhoto updated its library. Now Aperture 3.4.5 will not run since it can't read the updated iPhoto library. My Aperture was purchased from Apple and was on a DVD install disk and not from the App Store. How do I update my Aperture now? Doesn't seem right to pay another $80 for it when it is being dropped in the near future.

I have an old version of Aperture (3.1.2) that no longer works on my mac following my update to OSX (10.9.4). I would like to update my Aperture version so that its compatible with OSX but am unable to do so. All the aperture downloads tell me I have to update through the App Store but the App Store does not recognize that I have a valid, if outdated, version of Aperture on my computer and wants me to buy the software again. Is there a way to update Aperture (for free) and keep my library of photos?

I have a late 2009 MacPro 27". I just updated to Yosemite and found out that my current version of Aperture (3.4.3) will not work with with OX 10. When I go to the app store to update Aperture, i get a message stating: "Update unavailable with this Apple ID."
I never changed my Apple ID and don't understand why I am getting this message.

I was unable to download the latest Aperture update because I do not have OS 10.7. I want to delete the red App Store reminder. I tried to do this using the "reset all warnings" button in My Account/Settings but it has not worked, even after a restart. I keep getting this error
"You cannot install Security Update 2009-001 on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
After the update, my MacBook Pro is extermely sluggish. Prior to the update, I was zipping along like most happy MacBook Pro owners. After the update, I constantly see the dreaded beach ball when doing almost anything with the laptop, Safari pages take longer to load, etc.
It's almost as if the udpate had the opposite effect and actually throttled down my WD 500GB HDD performance to a large degree.
Like I said, prior to the update all was good. I've been searching to see if there is a way to revert back to the previous firmware to validate that the update caused the problem but I haven't been successfull in finding anything yet.
It says here on PCMag that we need to install a 256MB patch. So make sure you do it!

After rebooting in safe boot mode (while still IN safe boot mode) I ran software update to install the other 14 items that hadn't yet been done. When this was done, I clicked "restart" and the next thing I know, software update appears to be running "automatically" (with a progress bar the only thing on screen) installing 14 (more?) items! Pretty sure it's the same 14 items I just installed. The second install went a lot faster - assuming it at least figured out some of the items had been installed. I disabled Software Update's automatic download of updates, but it must have downloaded these before I did so.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having some troubles, all of which occurred after installing Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 7. Here are two I've found so far:
1. Terminal takes quite a long time to open new tabs.
2. Quicksilver hangs (and eventually crashes) when I try to type any type of text to search.
When the applications hang, no keyboard input is accepted in any application, though it is possible to use the mouse to move windows. how to revert back to Update 6?

I recently purchased Lion and was excited to install from the app store. Purchased and it appears to be downloading but stops about 3/4 of the way through and I get an "NSPortTimeoutException" error. I tried downloading a simple free app and same situation. I ran disk utility and hard drive is fine. I had no issues with running software update until recently. I thought this may be the problem so I ran software update again. I gives details regarding several updates. When I attempt to install the updates, I immediately get a prompt to restart my computer. I run software update again and the same list of updates come up. The updates are not being downloaded or installed. My Internet connection is fast and reliable.

I installed the latest update 10.7.4. After the nice progress bar finished, I just get a nice Apple logo and a spinning wheel of death. Rebooting gives me a new progress bar and a new spinning wheel of death. OPTION-start does not really help, since there is no DVD drive on the MacBook Air Core2 to reboot from.

I installed 10.7.4 update and now my screen goes black. It is quiet random at times, but mostly goes black after a few seconds from wakeup. Pressing the space-bar restores the screen, then sometimes it goes black again almost immediately.

I had to force it down during the installation cause in hang up. When I tried a restart the grey screen comes up as usually and the small wheel spins underneath. It spins for hrs. I tried the safe mode but it shows that all is good with the HD. Bootcamp works normally as I am writing from that part right now.
