View 2 RepliesIve had a trawl through the Internet looking for someone else having this issue, but no luck.
When using Aperture, I get a very strange choppiness of photos. (Ive tried both 32 and 64 bit mode)
Please see the photo: [URL]
It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.
My aperture library shows thumbnails of all my photos like normal, but if I try to view a Split View or Viewer view of the image, after a period of time where Aperture says it is "Loading.." in which the image still looks ok, the image snaps and then appears corrupted. It looks like the viewport is looking at random patches of video memory, showing bits and pieces of various graphics from around the system.
This only started happening very recently, but I haven't been using Aperture daily, so I can't say if it was after a recent OS X update or Aperture update.
I'm assuming my masters are just fine, so it's only an annoying bug, but it makes Aperture completely unusable for the time being, other than browsing thumbnails.
I am trying to print an 11.98x17.97 image on a 13x19 sheet. I specify .51" borders top and bottom, and .52" right and left.
Instead, I am getting a 7.5x10.75" printed image with L 1 1/8" + R 7 1/8" borders and T 1/8" + B 5 3/8" borders. In short, a smaller image, shoved up and left on the sheet. See screen shot below.
Same happened when I tried to print a 4x6 image on an 8.5x11 sheet, until I was told by Kirby to enter the sheet size as a standard 'letter size' sheet instead of entering a custom 8.5x11" size. Is this the same? If so, what's the 'standard' size for 13"x19"?

I like to use Faces versus Names because I seem to be able to crank through it much quicker.
My flow:
1) I click a project name that has not already had faces assigned
2) I click the faces icon. Then I see the "main" part of the screen with the Faces instructions, and the section under that has the faces that need to be named. So I start naming them. There are 100s in this project.
3) Then I come across a face I only "kind of" recognize. I don't know if they are in the background in a crowd, of the focus of the photo. I need to understand the images composition so I can skip them or figure out their name. I would like to quickly just get a peek at the whole photo.
4) So I switch to the Viewer and it takes me to the first photo in that project. That's no good.
5) When I switch back to Face I also have to scroll to get back to that face.
Is there a better way to quickly see the whole photo without breaking up my workflow?
3.5 moves adjusted image to front of event folder; how to stop that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'd like to automatically save each photo filename as a keyword for that photo, so if the file name is changed later through different versions it retains the original filename within its EXIF information to identify it, preferably while importing it.
I there some form of dynamic keyword that lets you have Aperture replace it with the current file name?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am trying to import images into Aperture 3.4.5. I get the message:
- You don’t have permission to save the file “nilpe” in the folder “Användare”.
- To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info.
To my knowledge there is no account nilpe on this computer, the account name I use is different.Somehow Aperture has mixed up permissions.(Have run the "Repair Disk Permissions" in Disk Utility.app and restarted, without any effect)(Mac Pro with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63), start up disc is a SSD and the Aperture Library is on another disk.I have previously imported thousands of images into Aperture, I am at a loss as to why this has suddenly appeared.

I'd like to save individual disc images of the OSX and Win 7 installs on two partitions on my drive so that I can restore the operating systems if I need to. How can I do this since both have different file systems? Do I use Carbon Cloner? How do I restore the Windows partition if I do this?
Also:
I installed Windows 7 32-bit Home edition on a 200gb partition using Bootcamp. I am installing and tweaking the Windows installation and would like to take a snapshot of the system after I have installed all programs and settings.
just curious when you "save image as desktop wallpaper" where does that actual file save to?

I used Acronis True Image 2011 on my previous Dell laptop to take a disc image of my installation then used that on subsequent reinstallations using an Acronis boot disc and disc image accessed from a USB hard drive.
How can I reinstall the disc image of an Aronis True Image partition on a Macbook Pro 13" 2010 if part of the drive has OSX? Could I boot from an Acronis boot CD then reinstall the Windows partition on the MBP?
I am trying to take a screen shot and save it as an image.

My Macbook is brand new! (Barely 4 months old) Just recently my laptop will flash a black screen. It starts from the bottom and quickly flashes up the screen higher and higher each flash! i have read on some other pages it is a bad inverter on the inner core of the Macbook. Other than that I do not know what to do!

I have a newly refurbished emac running the latest OSX 10.9.3. I used to be able to move images from iPhoto to the desktop and using Preview change the file size. I need to do this to upload images of a specific size to a website. Now Preview will not save the adjusted image size. I adjust the size from a 5 meg image to a 1.5 meg image but when I go to upload the image it is still 5 meg. I try saving it before closing it but it doesn't do anything (by the way I hate the new options or lack thereof when it comes to saving in Preview)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI noticed that Aperture 3 is priced really, REALLY low on the Mac App Store. So I made the decision to buy it. But... I already have Aperture 2 installed. So what happens when I buy Aperture 3? Does it recognize that I have Aperture 2 installed, and upgrade it, or will it install Aperture 3 alongside Aperture 2?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSafari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?

One software says I cannot upload an image because the image or the container folder does not have permission. Indeed there is one "unknown" in permissions, that I cannot get to a read write no matter how hard I try -- both on the folder, the desktop, and the file (this is all on my laptop) I've done a repair permission.

When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.

I just got this mac and was a normal PC guy. My gfs parents gave us there G4 and it has 10.2.9 and I think that is panther? I need tiger to run all of the new stuff right? Where can I download tiger from?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have my PowerBook G4 connected to a Hitachi video projector, using a DVI to VGA adapter.
The problem is that the only projected image I can see is that of my Desktop image. It doesn't display the Dock, menus or any windows.
What settings do I need to change?
I recently right clicked a picture to set it as my desktop picture but didn't have the foresight to save the picture in case I wanted to change it later. I still have the picture up but I cannot find where the picture is stored so I can save it for later. I checked HD/Library/desktop pictures but no luck. Does anyone know where these pictures are saved?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click to save a picture online, it doesn't give me the opportunity to save something as a JPEG. I instead have to save it as a preview and then export it to JPEG. This seems like something relatively new.
