i have a brand new iMac 27"/i5 which is all very nice - no screen issues or anything
only one problem, after each boot i find the iMac ignores all/any iDevices plugged into it. The only way to fix this, that i've found, is do follow this -
[URL]
which i've optimised down to removing iTunes, deleting the AppleMobileDevice.kext file and reinstalling iTunes.
my mac does not recognize my iPhone, it used to?

My 2 iPhones 5c (8.1.1) are suddenly not being recognized by iTunes (12.0.1.26). They don't show in the menu bar and don't sync on my mac mini. They WILL connect on my mac laptop from work. So it's got to be an issue with the Mini right?
After reading and trying a number suggestions I found one thread that suggested looking at system log info from the Console application when connecting the phone

iTunes and iPhoto won't recognize my iPhone 4S, or my wife's iPhone 4 when pluged into my MAC. I am running OSX v10.5.8, and both iPhones have the latest version of iOS. I tried a few of the other trouble shooting tips from the community, but nothing seems to work.

My iPod Classic isn't being recognized by iTunes (this has always worked fine until now). I have an iMac. The iPod connects fine and is shown on the desktop, but not recognized in iTunes. My other iPods are recognized in iTunes, just not the Classic. I have reset it, installed latest iTunes, nothing works. The iPod works fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to put new music on my iPod. This has consistently been a problem because Itunes says that the ID that i'm getting my applications from is not the same as the one issued to the iTunes application on the computer I get my music from ( because the iTunes on this computer has no purchased music, only free promotional mixtapes, so it isn't linked to any iTunes account). This forces me to have to restore my iPod to factory quality every time I want to apply new music to my iPod.
This time the problem is worse- I updated Itunes earlier to the newest version ( I hadn't updated my music or Ipod software in a very long time), and now Itunes is unable to recognize my Ipod. I get the error message, "iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services" after iTunes tries to recognize the iPod for a sync for about 30 seconds.
I read this article; [URL] which suggests that I update to the newest version of iTunes, then reset my sync history. The problem now? I can't even get the preferences tab to load. Whenever I try to load the preferences tab, iTunes freezes up and becomes unresponsive. This is extremely frustrating. I have to go through all this troubleshooting, errors, and updating just because my iTunes isn't registered because it has no purchased music?
TLDR:
>iTunes won't respond to my 4th gen iPod
>I get apps from the app store off of my father's Apple ID that I'm posting from
>Causes me to have to restore my Ipod to factory settings everytime I want to get new music for my iPod because my iTunes application on my computer isn't registered to an Apple ID

Windows Vista, iPod touch 4th gen.
I have 100gigs of music so I successfully transferred my iTunes media to an external hard drive, and identified this new location within iTunes/Preferences/Advanced/Location. Everything worked great until I had to shut down and start up.
Now, it no longer recognizes the media library. When I try to play a track in iTunes, iTunes says the original file could not be found. It prompts me to locate this one track, which I do, and that one track will play. All of the other tracks have the (!) sign next to them in my iTunes library.
I have double checked the settings in my iTunes preferences, everything appears to be configured as when I first made the successful transfer (identifying the external hard drive as the location).
I've made sure to restart once the external hard drive is connected.
I am trying to restore my iPhone 5 running iOs 7.1.1 using iTunes 11,1.5 on a Mid 2010 13 inch Macbook running Mac OS 10.9.2. When I click "Restore iPhone", I get an error message saying "Find my iPhone must be turned off before 'iPhone can be restored." However, i have already turned off find my iPhone.

why am I unable to connect my iPhone and iPod to the new iTunes? Each attempt results in a crash
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my computer ( new HD and memory) and i am trying to transfer new music from my macbook to my iphone 3g (running 5.1.1) when I initially opened iTunes it had me upgrade to 10.6.3, now I am unable to drag and drop music onto my iphone like I used to. I have checked manually manage music and videos but when I attempt to apply it, I get the message > The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library. As I have just installed a new hard drive and didn't want to transfer over my old info, my drive is empty, if I sync with the contents of my iTunes library, it will erase my phone completely as the HD is new and EMPTY.Is there anyway around this? I used to be able to drag and drop my music from my hard-rive or even straight from iTunes and now nothing happens at all. I'm not sure where the change was made, but is there a way to fix it or get around it? I am also unable to delete songs from my iphone using itunes.

Getting errors when trying to update to 5.1 on iPhone 4s and iPad 1. Iv tried to update through the device and on iTunes and its not working. Both devices are NOT jailbroken. iTunes saying network connection can not be established. And trying through iPad's software update on the device says " Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update." And I clearly have internet connection.

Before, in iTunes I could drag several albums, one after the other, over to my iPhone for copying. iTunes would just add the subsequent albums to a growing queue behind the scenes, happily copying until everything was done. Now, for some reason, when I am in the midst of copying one album and drag a second over to copy, iTunes stops copying the first album and begins copying the second; it's as if the hidden queue has disappeared. So I'm left with a bunch of truncated, random songs off each album I've tried to copy.

Subject pretty much says it all. The Mac is a macBook with Yosemite. The iPhone is an iPhone6. When I plug the iPhone in, select the iPhone, select apps,
I see a list of apps located approximatly in the middle of the screen, with the option to select remove or install. On the right the home screens are shown etc.
I'm unable to select an icon on any of these screens. When I click an icon and attempt to drag it, ITunes wants to move the entire home screen.

I have updated my iPhone 5 to the 8.1.1 iOS, and am trying to clear space by removing songs from my phone. When I open my iTunes, it registers there are 243 songs on my phone, but when I open the music app on my phone there are 268 songs showing. So I can't delete the songs via my iTunes on my Macbook. Apple support first told me to turn off "Show All Music" under the Music tab in Settings, which I did. Then he told me to hold my finger over the song and "swipe left" to get the delete option. This works for any other song on my phone except for the ones that were iTunes purchases, including this just average U2 album that magically deposited itself as well. Do not know of any other way to remove songs from my phone. Possibly restoring the phone to original settings? I don't really want to do that.

When I plug my iphone into my Macbook pro I get the chirp so I know it is charging but I don't get any icons showing the phone is connected nor do I see it on Finder. I also have an Air and my iPhone works great for that. I can't seem to find the setting difference that allows my Air to see the iPhone but it doesn't allow my Macbook Pro to see the iPhone.

Image Capture no longer shoes my iPhone 4S as a device when plugged in. I've used it successfully for over a year but now it is playing up. I've changed cables, restarted the machine, my hubby has done a disk check. IPhoto recognises it still and the phone charges when plugged in. Have tried both USBs.

I have had several issues with the USB on my brand-new Core i5 macbook pro. It randomly disconnects USB devices. I've had the issue with multiple USB devices - same story with each one. Further, iTunes will only recognize my iPhone if it is in the port nearest the magsafe connector. The other port fails to recognize my iPhone entirely. Anyone else having a USB issue on their base 15" that was released today?
Furthermore, any suggestions of what to do about it? I'm having a hell of a time restoring my iPhone with this issue... And the Apple Store is over an hour away-I planned a special trip to buy this laptop.
How do I access Notes backed up from iPhone onto Mac without using an iPhone?

A month or so I got an iMac and it's been pretty awesome, despite two dead pixels! Today I wonder if perhaps I'm beyond help, and how in the world this could happen. This story begins with me using my Logitech MX Revolution mouse. It's a nice mouse, I really like it! When I first go the mac I promptly went to Logitech's site and downloaded the official logitech control center and everything worked out fine. Until a day ago, when I read that the logitech drivers are sort of sloppy, and using an utility such as USB overdrive, or steermouse would be better. (I decided to go for steermouse, as it looked to be more recently updated)
I uninstalled the logitech pref pane, and installed steermouse. This is where my troubles began. I couldn't quite seem to get the mouse to work properly, no matter what I tried on the menu. So I decided that, well, I guess this program is crap, and uninstalled it. When I went to reinstall the logitech pref pane, things started getting weird......................
I have a 12" G4 Powerbook model A1010. It has the 1ghz 1.25Mb Ram 40GB HDD. I turned it on and I get the blinking question mark and mac folder. Went to Apple store, they told me I had a bad HDD. I replaced the HDD with a new one and it does the same thing. I booted from a leopard disk and it wont recognize any HDD i have installed. Now when i turn it on the fan kicks on overdrive and doesnt stop. Could I have a bad logic board? or a bad cable?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pretty old (4-5 years old?) PowerBook G4, running 10.4.11. Recently the superdrive quit playing commercial DVDs. It will recognize CDs without a problem, but when I insert a DVD, the drive makes noises like it's reading the disc for maybe 20-30 sec. and then ejects the disc. I also tried to install Photoshop, but the drive wouldn't read the instal DVD either.
