I don't remember doing this in the last few days, but I must have updated to 10.6. Just launched iTunes and the Library comes up blank/ new - it created a new one. I Option + launched to navigate to my existing Library (on external hard drive) and it is grayed out, iTunes will not recognize it.

I upgraded to iTunes 11.4 today, and now I'm not able to sync my iPhone 5s. The sync button is greyed out. I tried reinstalling, reauthorizing, signing in again in iTunes and my iPhone. I also restored my phone twice...not sure what else to do. I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on an iMac Intel Core Duo.

my mac does not recognize my iPhone, it used to?
Info:iPhone 4S
My 2 iPhones 5c (8.1.1) are suddenly not being recognized by iTunes (12.0.1.26). They don't show in the menu bar and don't sync on my mac mini. They WILL connect on my mac laptop from work. So it's got to be an issue with the Mini right?Â
After reading and trying a number suggestions I found one thread that suggested looking at system log info from the Console application when connecting the phone

iTunes and iPhoto won't recognize my iPhone 4S, or my wife's iPhone 4 when pluged into my MAC. I am running OSX v10.5.8, and both iPhones have the latest version of iOS. I tried a few of the other trouble shooting tips from the community, but nothing seems to work.Â

When I plug my iphone into my Macbook pro I get the chirp so I know it is charging but I don't get any icons showing the phone is connected nor do I see it on Finder. I also have an Air and my iPhone works great for that. I can't seem to find the setting difference that allows my Air to see the iPhone but it doesn't allow my Macbook Pro to see the iPhone.

My Macbook Pro will not recognise my iphone 5s when I plug it in with a USB cable, yet using the same cable with my ipad it is fine. (Also iphoto will not recognise the phone)

I'm trying to switch photos from my phone onto my computer easily and my mac does not recognixe my iPhone.emailing myself all the photos - which is time consuming.

Image Capture no longer shoes my iPhone 4S as a device when plugged in. I've used it successfully for over a year but now it is playing up. I've changed cables, restarted the machine, my hubby has done a disk check. IPhoto recognises it still and the phone charges when plugged in. Have tried both USBs.

i have a brand new iMac 27"/i5 which is all very nice - no screen issues or anything
only one problem, after each boot i find the iMac ignores all/any iDevices plugged into it. The only way to fix this, that i've found, is do follow this -
[URL]
which i've optimised down to removing iTunes, deleting the AppleMobileDevice.kext file and reinstalling iTunes.
Just upgraded my itunes to 11.2.2 and now it will not open. Message pops up saying, "This version of iTunes has not been correctly localized for this language. Please run the english version." I cannot do anything else in iTunes though. It just shows me that message.
What can I do?

Was burning a few CDs when I got the notice to upgrade.Â
Upgraded.Â
Now it won't burn CDs...
I upgrade to Lion after being told that it would upgrade my iLife to iLife 11. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had several issues with the USB on my brand-new Core i5 macbook pro. It randomly disconnects USB devices. I've had the issue with multiple USB devices - same story with each one. Further, iTunes will only recognize my iPhone if it is in the port nearest the magsafe connector. The other port fails to recognize my iPhone entirely. Anyone else having a USB issue on their base 15" that was released today?
Furthermore, any suggestions of what to do about it? I'm having a hell of a time restoring my iPhone with this issue... And the Apple Store is over an hour away-I planned a special trip to buy this laptop.
Evidently through automatic upgrades my iTunes has upgraded itself to version 7.7.1 - I just tried to open it and got a pop up window telling me that in order to use iTunes I need OS 10.4.9 (I have 10.4.6). How could it have downloaded for an OS that it won't work with? I don't feel like shelling out the bucks for the OS upgrade, and when I tried to install an older version of iTunes, I got another pop up window telling me I couldn't because a newer version was already installed. I'm afraid that if I dump the newer one I'll lose all my tunes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to the newest version of itunes (10.6) and now I am getting an itunes error 13005. I have my itunes running through an external WD Passport. I have read the threads on this and have tried deleting the genius/.itdb files and I am still getting the same error. I have also searched for .lock files, but I can't find any of those files.

When I quit iTunes the window closes and the glowing dot fades out. Then it comes straight back. Also I thought iTunes was now 64-bit? But Activity Monitor says its 32-bit.

I can't deposit a new midi into my library. I try following the instructions but the song doesn't appear on the main Music library list, and I can't drop in to the Playlist file, where I need to have it as an mp3, so I can make a new CD of this song list. Â
I just had my iMac mini cleaned up and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.4 and things are not working the way they were. Before this, I was able just to drag the midi into the main Music library list, turn it into an mp3, then drag a copy into the Playlist.Â

I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem for a while (a few months), but I never remember to bring it up anywhere.
It just happened again, so here I am.
iTunes stopped recognizing that I put a CD-R in. The Mac itself doesn't even realize it, as I usually see it on the desktop when it's recognized.
They are Memorex brand, and they used to work just fine on this same Mac.
DVDs work fine, so I'm thinking it's not a faulty drive...
So long story short, while running iTunes once i must have held shift and it asked me to "load a library." I panicked and found a library file in my iTunes folder and clicked on it.
Heres where the problem is... This jumped my iTunes back to December 2009. With all the music I had then, and then when i noticed some were missing I dragged everything in my music folder over and it created duplicates. I fixed everything in that regard9renaming and cleaning).
After about a week of random cleaning here and there, its time to finally sync my iPhone(not jailbroken if your wondering, want too though ) to iTunes.
1. It doesn't recognize it and Now is saying that I have to change the iPhone to this library, but its technically the same library. Is there any way i can make it recognize it?
I have the ipod 120 gb, and my itunes all of a sudden will not recognize my ipod.

My 2008 iMac hard drive (2TB) went belly up for good. I have always added new OSX versions as they came along, right up to and including Mavericks. I had all my iTunes (over 1 TB) on this hard drive. No panic as I also have a daily SuperDuper back up of the entire iMac hard drive on a WD 2TB external HD (SuperDuper Clone OLD). I decide to replace the iMac with a brand new MacBook Pro Retina (256 GB, so obviously no room for iTunes Library), and a new WD 4TB external HD for the iTunes Library.Â
Wanting to do a fresh install on this new MacBook, unlike the 2008 iMac which had one install going right over the previous OSX. Now, I move the entire iTunes file from my old SuperDuper back up (SuperDuper CLONE OLD) over to the new WD 4TB external hard drive (iTunes NEW), drag and drop, nine hours later it has fully transferred.Â
I now fire up iTunes on the MBP, in the Advanced Pref I point the iTunes Media folder location to the new external HD: /Volumes/iTune New/iTunes. I then shut down iTunes and restart it while holding down the ALT/OPTION key, pointing it to iTunes Library.itl.Â
Yet this new iTunes Library on my 4TB WD external hard drive (iTunes NEW) does not show up with music. What does show up are a 3535 old PodCasts.Â
