ITunes :: How To Transfer Music From Ipod To An IMac Without Erasing All The Songs From The IPod
Apr 22, 2012
I have an old macbook that has all my songs on, as well as my iPod. I have recently got an iMa which currently has no music on, how would I transfer the music from the iPod to the new iMac, or alternatively from the old Macbook to the iMac?
My itunes library is empty on my new computer, but I have a full library on my ipod. How do I "reverse" sync? I don't see an option in itunes to put all the info from my ipod onto my computer. I see it the other way, which would then erase all the data on my ipod.
I'm trying to transfer some songs from my friend's band onto my friend's iPod. However iTunes just opens up a window saying that I can either "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases From Another iPod". Is there a way to just open iTunes up and transfer my music to the other iPod?
Anybody know about a good program to transfer music from an iPod to iTunes? Just got a mac mini, and time machine didn't back up my library. I was able to recover purchased songs, but not the rest.
My old computer crashed so I'm not able to get my music from it to put onto my new macbook. But I do have all my music on my ipod touch, so can I somehow transfer the songs from there to my macbook?
my imac 2.4 core2duo died. i immediately bought a new 21.5" 2.8 i7 iMac. The only thing I regretted was that I lost my music catalog - imported from PC to the first iMac and added to, this included the napster hey day stuf too.
I just realized that all that old stuff is also on an old iPod that i have (how I transferred the music to the iMac 2.4 in the first place.
How do I get this music into the new 21.5" iMac? The iTunes on the new computer allows me to play it from the iPod, but not move it into the iMac.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4), 2.8 intel i7
I tried to synd the music from my husbands Ipod to his new IMAC. Thought I was doing everything right and then now there is no music and nothing on the Ipod. OMG, freaking out.
A friend of mine PC's hard drive fried recently. He's was thoroughly sick of his ageing PC anyway and I convinced him to buy his first Mac. Anyway, he hadn't backed anything up from his PC. He's not too worried about this bar the fact he's lost all of his music.
Fortunately, he's got his entire music library stored on his iPod. Now, I've don't know the first thing about iPods. Is there an easy way to transfer all of his music from his iPod into iTunes on his new iMac? He's worried about losing his music, unsurprisingly.
I got a new IPod. Now how can I transfer my playlists and music from my current iPod to my new one? I'd rather not have to copy them all to my HD and back as my old iPod contains 6.48 gigs of music and I don't have that much HD space. Anyone know of any good Apple Scripts or programs?
i just got a new mac and didnt want to migrate everything so that i could keep this new mac "clean" of my old stuff however im having a hell of a time transfering ical and address book over! Most importantly i got a new ipodtouch also and im wondering if anyone know how to transfer the stickie notes from my old ipod to new ipod?
I have a 1st generation ipod (10g) and a new macbook pro. I don't have firewire on the macbook pro and need a cable that will work so I can transfer music from my old ipod onto my macbook. I have a 400/800 firewire adapter which connect fine to my ipod, but doesn't connect to my macbook.
i deleted songs from my itunes and now i cant find them. i still have them on my ipod, is there any way i can keep adding songs to my ipod without my computer syncing and deleting all the songs i dont have on my computer?
I am thinking about getting an iPad, but have hundreds of CD's that I don't want to waste. Is there any way to transfer these on to my iPad without needing to go through iTunes on a PC?
Couple days ago I deleted a playlist on my Itunes accidentally. Luckily I have all my music backed up on an External HD. I remade the playlist on Itunes, transferred the music from my Ext. HD to the playlist, connected my ipod to have it synced, then disoconnected my HD and Ipod after sync and when I search the playlist on my Ipod I only get 29 of the 142 songs synced. Can someone please tell me what could be going wrong?
How do I transfer my iPod Touch songs to my MacbookPro through iTunes? I stopped it from syncing, but I have no songs on my MacbookPro and a bunch on my iPod. I got my iPod songs from iTunes on a PC. I want to plug my iPod Touch into my new MacbookPro and transfer the songs from my iPod to my Mac.
My iTunes (the latest version on a MacBook Pro) is not allowing me to copy music from the library to an iPod. Most of the music is imported in, not purchased from iTunes. When I drag to load on to the iPod, it says "File Not Found" - I am guessing it is because it is a mp3 not a mp4? I am not sure how it cannot be found, when I can play the song in iTunes on my computer? Do I need to convert these song files to mp4? If so, what program can I use? I used to use AudioHub before it went away - I have since purchased a new machine and cannot access it any more.
I don't know what happened but all of a sudden itunes won't let me drag and drop a song onto my ipod or iphone, It won't even let me drag and drop a song in a playlists within itunes.
My laptop has died and so I am off to purchase a MacBook Pro at the weekend. My concern is my iTunes account and credit which is on my laptop. My iTunes library is a combination of purchased songs and songs copied from my own CDs.
Will I be able to sync my iPod to the MacBook Pro thereby retrieving my credit and songs?
Yesterday I bought 10 songs from the iTunes store on my iPod Touch. I realized, this was a mistake, and I'd rather listen to them on my Macbook. How can I copy the tunes over?
My parents have an iMac and a 4g iPod. The iPod hasn't been used for a while, but still plays music and podcasts beautifully. The problem is, the iTunes Library isn't on the iMac anymore. When I try to sync, I can see the tunes in the iPod, but when I disconnect the cable, the songs don't appear in the iTunes library.
How do I get my parents' iPod to sync and update items through iTunes?
They use 10.5.8 on an iPod 4, using iTunes 10.6.1.
with my iPod 5G, I recently switched from automatic synching to adding music manually, because my library exceeds the 60GB storage. Now, in the appropriate iTunes window, I find the options to do so by lists, artists, genres, and albums, and the only option I can use is this last one. However, it does not list them by the name applied to them in my iTunes library, but instead a mixture of artist and album title, which makes it very uncomfortable to handle. I would rather have this list to be sorted exactly by the album names as applied in the title information in iTunes.
