May 29, 2012My playlists on my iphone and ipad have all triplicated. Is there a simple way to correct this? or should I just delete 2 of each?

May 30, 2012I have my iPad connected to my iMac. In iTunes I am trying to add new playlist to the iPad (on the Mac). The problem is my new playlist option in the File drop down list is grayed out. I cannot edit anything on the iPad nor create new lists. Is it working as intended? I can add and edit playlists right on the iPad itself, but thats not as convenient as doing it from iTunes on the iMac.Â

Apr 17, 2012I recently got a new mac and moved all my music over manually from my old mac.after finally setting it all up, and finally getting my playlists working in iTunes, I synced my iPhone 3GS with the new computer.Before syncing, I selected about 30 of my playlists to go onto the iPhone by checking their boxes under the "music" tab of my iPhone in iTunes on my mac. All the music in those playlists copied to my iPhone, and the titles of the playlists show up on my iPhone, BUT THEY ARE EMPTY..I've re-syncing like 30 times over the space of a month, and no deal. On my Mac, the playlists are just fine!Â

ITunes :: Voice Memos Not Appearing In Iphone Playlists?
Feb 14, 2012I have about 100 voice memos recorded on my iPhone 3GS and which have successfully synched with my MacBook Pro, which i recently upgraded to Lion. When I open up iTunes, there they all are listed in my Voice Memos playlist.Â
The voice memos are lists of french vocabulary and so I created themed playlists in iTunes on my mac and arranged the voice memos in the different playlists. When I open the playlists on my Mac's iTunes, they are all there. I have synced them with my phone and the name of the playlists appears on my phone but when I open the playlists, they are empty. I am manually selecting music and playlists to be synced. i have checked the boxes for:
sync music
selected playlists, artists...
playlists (the specific playlists)
and in the genres topic, i have selected voice memos i created a music playlist just now and that works fine, but not with memos.Â

Aug 29, 2014My iPhone 5c used to sync with my old Windows laptop via iTunes and both devices held all music information on them such as iTunes rating, playlist information and the selected songs to be synced (there are more songs on my iTunes on my laptop than my iPhone).  All of these songs are also saved on an external hard drive. None were purchased through iTunes.
When my old Windows laptop died, it died abruptly so I did not have chance to consolidate the iTunes media folder. I have now bought a new MacBook Air to replace my old Windows laptop.
When I plug in my iPhone 5c to my new MacBook Air, when iTunes offers to sync it advises all information on my iPhone will be lost.
Is it possible to transfer the ratings and playlists from my iPhone to iTunes on my MacBook Air, at least for the corresponding songs that exist on my iPhone? Note I have the original songs on an external hard drive so the song files themselves do not have to copy across. All the files in the iPhone exist in the external hard drive.

Mar 30, 2012Just like the title says Throughout the life of iTunes, I have been able to do this. Now, I cannot. It's super annoying, as I now have to go and sync each individual file. I've got thousands of files. It would drive me crazy to individually check each one to sync. Drag 'n' drop is much easier.Â
The only difference has been that I stopped using a mouse and began to use the Apple Magic Trackpad. I'm not sure if this has had any deleterious effect.Â

Mar 13, 2012I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

May 30, 2012I download apps DIRECTLY to my iPhone and iPad 2 I do not download via iTunes.
When I plug in my iPad or phone (device from now on) and sync it in iTunes, it transfers and backups MY purchases fine. However the left window pane does not show the INSTALLED apps.
Theres only a list of apps, none with check marks , even if they are present on the phone or iPad. If select sync apps, it tells me it will DELETE all the apps on my device.Â
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to make iTunes place a check mark or recognize what IS ALREADY on my device with out having to start from scratch and delete all my apps by forcing me To manually select what apps I want installed on my device (which are already on my device!) Â Am I missing a step someplace? Shouldn't my library on my device show up on the left side of ITunes pane with apps INSTALLED already checked?Â

Apr 18, 2012Is there any way to permanently keep my iphone and iPad apps OFF of my macbook pro? Every time I connect, I ensure that "sync apps" is not checked, but then iTunes says I will lose my purchases if I don't transfer them over. This does not seem to be the case, however- aren't all of your app purchases automatically registered on iCloud? So I click transfer purchases, but this of course then puts EVERY APP onto my iTunes, which takes up a whopping 36GB of space. I can't afford to have that much space taken up! Should I just ignore the iTunes warning, or is there another way to ensure that iTunes doesn't keep these seemingly useless and HUGE backups on my macbook?
