When I plug in my Ipod touch, Itunes does not recognize it as a device. I can get the Ipod to charge and be recognized as a camera for iphoto, but nothing from itunes. My apps, that I previously had on itunes and my ipod are also missing. I've already tried all the trouble shooting tips?

I just bought the new 27 inch iMac I have been using Time Machine on my macbook4 pro and used the backup with migration assistant to the new iMac. When I did the restore, everything went fine except iTunes does not recognize my iPhone or iPad. It does not show up at all when plugged into the iMac. The one thing I had to do when using the restore was change the name of my user account info as it would not transfer to the iMac with the same user info. Anyone got a clue on what I should do to get iTunes to recognize my iPhone and iPad?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i decided not to sell my free ipod touch, however my mbp won't recognize that i've plugged the ipod touch in. I spoke on the phone with applecare and was able to restore the touch but neither the laptop or itunes will even recognize it's there. However, applecare is closed now and i would really like to be able to use it for work tomorrow.
I know my usb ports work, i've tried 3 different cables, tried restarting the touch , the ipod touch charges but since it's new the startup screen telling me to plug it into the computer, is all i can access on the touch. I just updated itunes and restarted my mbp and still nothing.
I used this iPod (new) previously on my husbands PC. I recently purchased a refurbished iBook G4 and it works great with the exception of not recognizing my iPod! When I plug it in, it give me the error message: Disc Insertion - The disc you inserted was not readable by this computer. What does this mean? It has been a while since I've used a mac. I've tried restarting my iPod both off and on the mac with no change. I'm worried I'll lose all my music. Have also tried repairing and verifying with no results.

This upgrade sent out 5th/6th February 2010 has caused my family's iPods and my AppleTV to disconnect from the iTunes library and demand a return to factory settings for all units. Still have not got any of them to sync with the library or reload the back-up settings in the case of the iPods

How do u fix the syncing problem with iTunes and iPhone on a desktop Mac. iTunes will not recognize my iPhone after it's plug into desktop since downloading the last last iTunes update.

a new problem with my MacBook I think. The iTunes widget on my dashboard isn't working correctly, when I click on the i button to turn around the widget to select a playlist, the dashboard freezes temporarily and when it turns around there are no playlists to select. I know I have loads of playlists and I am using the original iTunes widget that came installed on the machine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open up iTunes on Vista x86 it appears empty with all my playlist, videos etc. gone. The folder that iTunes gets my music from hasn't changed. When I open iTunes the iTunes Library Extras and iTunes Library Genius are always sent to the recycle bin and there is nothing I can do to stop that from happening. When I check my music folder new versions of those files are there. I am really scared that I won't be able to get my music back as I have a lot.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a MacBook Pro and when I tried to import all my music files, from an external drive, iTunes did not recognize the .wma files.Â
I ended up copying all of the files (50GB worth) from the external drive to the Music directory on the MacBook. That is when I was able to determine that it was the file format that iTunes did not recognize. And clearly I see why, they are Windows Media files.Â
Is my best option to use Switch (or similar file converter program) to convert all the files that are currently .wma to .mp3 and just be done with it. Or is there an add-on for iTunes that can do this?Â
I am more than okay with deleting all the music files from the MacBook and starting over. I just want to get this right, from the start.Â

It has been a while now that my iTunes is not recognising my password.
This it's only happening on my iMac as I can sign in with my apple sigh on everywhere else.
Ok so my iTunes account is not recognising my iPhone at all. I recently bought a new MacBook Air, and when I turned it on for the first time I installed a Time Capsule backup. iPhone was fine with my old iMac, but now on the Air, iTunes just will not recognise it! I'm pretty sure it's not a USB problem, as when I plug it in to the Air, it chimes and charges, but the iPhone is not showing in the iTunes device list! I tried to solve this last night by deleting and reinstalling iTunes. It solved the issue temporarily and the iPhone was recognised, but when plugging it in again after that, same old story.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an older iPod that has some playlists on it that are not in my iTune library. I want this same playlist on my iPhone but when I do an 'export' then try to drag and drop into my phone I get a message saying it did not copy because 'it cannot be played on this phone'. I also cannot drag and drop it into iTunes anywhere either. All of these songs are in my library, I just don't want to have to go through and remake this playlist to add to my phone.

My parents have an iMac and a 4g iPod. The iPod hasn't been used for a while, but still plays music and podcasts beautifully. The problem is, the iTunes Library isn't on the iMac anymore. When I try to sync, I can see the tunes in the iPod, but when I disconnect the cable, the songs don't appear in the iTunes library.
How do I get my parents' iPod to sync and update items through iTunes?
They use 10.5.8 on an iPod 4, using iTunes 10.6.1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI opened itunes today and all my music was gone for no reason. The files were still there, so I imported the itunes music folder. That would have worked, but most of my music is in .wav, so all the albums and artists got lost leaving a big jumble of songs. Everything is still intact on the ipod. Is it possible to restore the itunes library from the ipod or am I stuck re-ripping all my CDs?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHere's the scenario: I Let a friend borrow this iPod from me for about a year. She used Windows and her own music, and I'm pretty sure used "Manually Manage Music" to get the songs on it.
The iPod appears on my desktop, but only has one folder in it, which has one song in it...none of the other music can be found. It says "600 MB" is available, but it's a 4 gig iPod.
I want to try to restore it, but the iPod Mini won't appear in iTunes. I don't care about losing the music on the iPod, because it isn't my music. Do newer versions of iTunes recognize iPod Minis?
My brother reformatted my ipod in a windows computer and now it itunes won't recognize it on my macbook. In the finder window, the icon shows i inserted an external drive.
