Apr 25, 2012I had to rebuild my iTunes library and now I'm going through the process of getting my iPhone syncing again. When I select the playlist that I want to sync with my computer from within iTunes and hit the sync button I get the message: The iPhone “x's iPhone” is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library.

Now that ive got a new macbook, i want to transfer preferences, messages, settings, songs, pictures, contacts and jailbroken applications etc on my iphone 3G to the new macboook. i dont need to have play counts or ratings transferred. just hoping to be able to sync my iphone to the new macbook like it was able to with the vista with nothing lost. my contacts are not saved with outlook.

OS X Mavericks :: Required System Files Can't Be Found - When Upgrading
Jun 19, 2014So, we have a bunch of computers that we need to install Mavericks on. After the second or third download, we decided to try to be smart and copy the installer to an external hard drive before installing. Now, when trying to install it on some of the remaining computers, it doesn't get very far and then comes up with an error that says something about required system files not being found. I will get the exact wording later when I go back to the lab. The installer already deleted itself from the other computer.
You must understand, downloading a >5GB file on a 25KBPS internet connection is agonizing, and these remaining computers need to get Mavericks on them soon.

Dec 4, 2014Today I went into my Itunes on my Macbook Air using OSX 10.9.5...Normally I play my songs on my Ipad but thought I would use my Macbook instead. The majoirty of my songs have an "i" besides the song and when I click to play it, I get the following message. "The song “*******” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it"? I then have the option to locate or cancel. The songs are still playable on my Ipad.

restoring via back-up
Uninstalling then re-installing iTunes
Rebooting computer
Have approx 1300 songs only 60 are accessible. Songs are not available on my Itouch. Itouch syncs but no songs there. Issue happened on 2/25 after my wife bought a song from iStore.

Feb 28, 2012After I moved my iTunes media and library back from an external drive back to my new laptop (with a larger drive), I can't open iTunes. I get this message "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the "Music" folder. The only option it gives is to click "OK" and iTunes shuts down. I tried reinstalling iTunes but the problem persists. I've checked and my iTunes Library.itl file is in its proper location.

The error comes at the start of syncing the photos. I have removed the photos from my iPhone it syncs fine, so the problem has to be with the photo library, RIGHT? May 2, 2010I added about 20 new contacts and edited about 10 other contacts on my iPhone since the last sync. I just hooked my iPhone up to iTunes, went to "Info" and checked the sync contact field. Then I synced it, but no matter what I do, the new contacts dont show up on my Address Book on my Mac. It asked me for one duplicated entry, where I had to choose one and I choose one. It even says Sync Okay in iTunes.

However, my media was on a different drive, which is still spinning. Additionally, i had my library synched to my iPhone, and i had Matched what iTunes could Match to the cloud. So i have all of my media locally, i have most of my media in the cloud and or on my phone, and i have most of my playlists in the cloud or on the phone. What is the best way for me to put my data back into iTunes and return to normalcy? In that i have an empty library right now, i have turned synching off on my phone. What i most want to get back is playlists. What i secondly want to get back are playcounts and ratings.

I have a bizarre situation when I try to play back entire an entire music album from iTunes. The music is on an external drive with the library on the computer. There is more music on the disc than will fit on my iPod so not all music is checked for syncing. When I select the first track from an album that has been checked, it will play the entire album and even go on to the next one. If the track is not checked, it will play that track only and nothing I seem to do will play the tracks in succession. is normal behaviour or if it is a bug or what. And if there is anything I can do to change it so that unchecked files will play one after the other.

The info says that it is compatible with the nano 5g but I cannot get it to show up. It does show on Itunes though [ v 9 ]. I have plenty of memory available. Feb 2, 2012When I manually add songs to my iphone 4 from my iTunes library they are not showing up on my phone under when I go to the artist. Oddly, when I search for the song title the song will come up and it plays, and it shows the artist name correctly when it is playing. I updated both iTunes and the phone. I've done a reset. I've deleted the songs in question from the phone and then re-added them, only to have the same problem.
This problem doesn't happen with every song I add, but it always happens to the same songs. When I sync the phone, I can find them in the phone window of iTunes and they're there correctly sorted by artist (and play fine)! These songs are CD imports (not iTunes purchases). I have "manually manage music" on, and iCoud is off.
