ITunes :: Rebuild Its Library File From IPhone?

Jun 16, 2012

Foolishly, i excluded my ~/music folder from my Time Machine backup, and when i restored following a recent system drive meltdown, i lost all of my iTunes library files - the .itl, the Previous iTunes Libraries, the .xml, everything. However, my media was on a different drive, which is still spinning. Additionally, i had my library synched to my iPhone, and i had Matched what iTunes could Match to the cloud. So i have all of my media locally, i have most of my media in the cloud and or on my phone, and i have most of my playlists in the cloud or on the phone. What is the best way for me to put my data back into iTunes and return to normalcy? In that i have an empty library right now, i have turned synching off on my phone.  What i most want to get back is playlists. What i secondly want to get back are playcounts and ratings.

Applications :: Backup ITunes Library Delete All Songs From My Iphone, Then Rebuild?

Nov 16, 2009

Basically somehow my iTunes got jacked up.. just the music part of it.. Anyway, they are all songs from my CDs or mp3's, but just as a failsafe, I would like to backup my entire iTunes library to my external hdd.

I would then like to delete all the songs from my iTunes, and from my iPhone. *edit* figure'd out how to remove all the songs from my iphone.. just unchecked all songs and sync'd.. now I just need to backup itunes and delete everything from it, then reput what I want back into itunes and resync.. sweet

After which, I would like to rebuild my iTunes library using my mp3's and CD's and basically start from scratch.. so that this time around I can properly name songs/albums/artwork/etc

Then I want to take this new iTunes library, and fill my iPhone back up with my new Library in Itunes..

so basically I just want to backup my itunes just incase for some reason I cannot find a particular CD or mp3 in my collection.

Just for the record, I am using a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.2, and I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB running the latest 3.1.2 firmware (jailbroken using blackra1n rc3)

ITunes :: Rebuild Library From Scratch On New NAS?

Apr 2, 2012

Just bought a new NAS with an iTunes Server function. But it requires all my music be in the iTunes Media/Music folder, all movies be in iTunes Media/Movies, etc.Unfortunately, after 6 years of upgrading iTunes, and letting it auto-consolidate/organize my library, my iTunes folder hierarchy is a mess. I have an iTunes Media folder within an iTunes Music folder, with another Music sub-folder below that, and a gaggle of "Previous iTunes Library" files floating around in there, too.

There's also some media folders outside of the iTunes Media folder, like old audio books and TV shows. Despite Apple's best efforts, there are still remnants of the old iTunes folder hierarchy in there. So I'm contemplating just starting a brand new iTunes Library and manually importing my songs, apps, audio books, movies, and MANY podcasts and ringtones in to it. I just want to clean up the iTunes folder hierarchy so I can properly use this iTunes Server app (and maybe improve my iTunes app performance).

ITunes :: Rebuild Library One Song At A Time?

Feb 26, 2012

Just got an email from Apple saying they cannot help me with this, even if i pay their service charge! Great customer service apple. My library crashed during the fix so i am attempting to rebuild my library from my hard drive and transfer it to itunes all on the one same computer, but its not working.I followed the instructions on Apples website:[URL]But when i got to:

7. Choose *File > Library > Import Playlist.*

8. Navigate to the "iTunes Library.xml" file on the Desktop.

- *Mac users:* Click Choose.

I open the file and it says "some of the songs in the file "itunes Music library.xml were not imported because they could not be found".So, THEN I tried copying all my music files into a folder on the desktop, and then going:

File>Library>Import Playlist>itunes folder (desktop) > Artists
folder>Artist album> individual song>Open

THEN it WILL transfer to itunes library but only ONE SONG AT A TIME and is not letting me "select all" and am having to import my songs one at a time! Seeing as though I have 4,000 songs, this will take me forever!

ITunes :: Apps Already On IPhone And Sync Music With A New ITunes Library?

Jun 12, 2012

I have a new-to-me MacBook (running Lion) and I just downloaded all my music into iTunes. I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously.  If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)?  I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking).  What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?

ITunes For Mac :: Not Syncing To IPhone After Several Library Changes

Dec 1, 2014

i Have an iPhone 6 (128Gb) with over 60gb of music synced and I have noticed that whenever I make several changes on my iTunes (genre changes, files directory changes, etc) to multiple songs and then try to sync it to my phone it gets stuck on the last step until I'm forced to unplugged the phone (trying to stop the sync doesn'to work).

Once I reconnect my phone and the backup process starts again all my music files now appear as "other" and thus ITunes now tries to sync all my music again causing an error message stating that I do not have enough capacity..

i Have tried to troubleshoot this issue to isolate the problem but with no success. I was just forced to reinstall all my apps and music once again and I am extremely annoyed since it happens quite often (since I do end up editing large amount of songs on a constat basis). after making all those changes on ITunes i always make sure ITunes recognizes those files. I try to close and open iTunes to ensure it updates its library and all the files' links. All songs do appear and play normally on iTunes.  Everything works on iTunes but then when I plug in my phone all new or modified songs appear grayed out with the circle to the left (indicating they will be synced, but it never happens)

ITunes For Mac :: Can't Move Library To New IPhone 5s

Jun 29, 2014

I just upgraded from a iPhone 5 to 5S.  I upgraded the storage and am trying to move all my songs from my iTunes library on my mac to my phone.  When I go to play them on my phone, they're all in there, but have the cloud w/ the down arrow and won't play.  I try to download them, but it says my iTunes match is expired.  I have them stored on my computer, have tried syncing all, checked all the individual songs, albums, and playlists, and tried dragging them over.

MacBook Pro :: Play My Itunes Library Over 3g On My Iphone?

Dec 2, 2010

Ok so i am trying to figure out the best way to do this over 3g. I want to purchase a WD My book live to store my photos, videos, and all of my music. I know that I can remap my itunes to find the files while i am on the same wifi network.

What i am trying to figure out is can i remotely access and play my music from the WD My book live? Basically by passing my laptop. Is the best why to do this is with a VPN? If so what will let you access an external NAS drive, and run a itunes app?

Is this possible to do or is more pain then its worth?

I had to rebuild my iTunes library and now I'm going through the process of getting my iPhone syncing again. When I select the playlist that I want to sync with my computer from within iTunes and hit the sync button I get the message: The iPhone “x's iPhone” is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Applications :: IPhone Music Library Restore To ITunes / HDD?

She has all her music in her iPhone, but if I replace the HDD in her laptop for her, is there a way to transfer the music from her iPhone to her computer? I think this is a pretty common questions but I just Googled it and found some random "sketchy tutorials" with self-promotions for random tools like "tansee iPhone -> PC" and the like...

Just wondering if there's a handy/favorite program you guys out there use? Windows or Mac software is fine.

ITunes For Mac :: Cannot Sync All Songs In Library To IPhone 6 And IPad Air 2

Dec 1, 2014

I have over 10,000 songs in my iTunes library--about 7,000 are songs I ripped from CDs and about 3000 are songs purchased through the iTunes store.  I am able to sync all the songs to my iPod Classic without any problem.  However, only about 7,000 songs are synced to my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2--a mix of all the songs purchased and some of the songs ripped.  How can I get my complete library synced to the iPhone and iPad, both of which are 128 GB and have plenty of room for the songs.
