I have the iTunes View setup as: Show movies in the cloud However all my cloud content (links) has disappeared. I can only see what is physically downloaded. The artwork with the little cloud banner is not there anymore.

Apr 17, 2012I nearly purchased and downloaded James Cameron's Aliens, when I noticed below the purchase buttons the note that This movie will not be available from iTunes in the Cloud. Why? Isn't that point of a digital copy? I could just as easily buy a used DVD cheaper and rip it. The film is still for sale in the iTunes store, why could I not get it in the Cloud? Does this also mean I can't download it again if it's deleted?

Dec 10, 2014I just purchased a new iMac with the latest iTunes (12.)
I'd transferred my iTunes off the old Mac Mini onto an external HD. During the setup of the new iMac, I imported to library from the external HD. Now my music list includes songs from the iMac HD AND the cloud purchases. When I play the songs, iTunes will play both those copies on the Mac as well as DOWNLOAD the song from the cloud.
i'm on a limited data plan & I don't want songs downloaded which already exist on my HD. Where's the "stopper" for this?

Aug 31, 2014If I don't want to restore content from my backup with old Apple IDs (wife's old deactivated account, brother's account, etc), how do I remove that content from a backup? I skip in the restore process, but that doesn't seem to remove anything. I'm assuming the content/media from the other accounts isn't loaded.
I guess I'm looking to create a fresh backup with only the iTunes items associated with my account. I can't find a way to identify what media is from these other accounts in iTunes, so I keep getting this issue when I restore from a backup.

IMac :: Viewable Area Of 24" ACD?
Mar 24, 2010I'm thinking of buying a 24" ACD, but I have one major dilemma - I really want the viewable areas to match up PERFECTLY (it's a huge pet peeve of mine to have the viewable areas mismatched on monitors). I currently have a 24" iMac, so I know I will have to adjust the height of the 24" Cinema Display to match the viewable area of the 24" iMac. So, my question is this - does anyone know if the viewable areas on the 24" iMac and the 24" Cinema Display are the exact same dimensions? I know they are both 1920x1200 but I can't find any mention of the exact measurements.

Jul 29, 2008I have a Mini that I am going to be using as an HTPC. I would also like to use it just to surf and check E's and general stuff like that. My question is that if I am sitting 6-8 ft. away from a 46" TV will the font be viewable or will it be to small (or fuzzy) to be a practical surfing set up. Anyone have any experience with this type of set-up? TW - the TV I am looking at getting is a Samsung Touch of Color LCD.

I don't understand this message. I thought that if I bought a song or an app from my iPhone it would be brought to iTunes on my MacBook when I did a synch, or direclty from the store. How would I identify what items the message is referring to, and how would I add them to my library?

Random Items Missing From ITunes
Jun 16, 2012My iTunes library resides on an external hard drive, and I wanted to reformat it from FAT32 to Mac OS Extended. I moved the entire contents to another HD, reformatted, then moved everything back. I started iTunes and all items had an exclamation point next to them (original file could not be found). I checked iTunes>Preferences>Advanced and was surprised to see that iTunes Media Folder Location was still set to the original location on the MacBook's HD, since I've been using the external for a few months now. In any case, I changed the folder location to the iTunes folder on the external and that mostly fixed the problem with the exclamation points. There were still certain songs that couldn't be found. I chose one, clicked Locate and found it on the external. iTunes then very helpfully found 127 other items based on that location. However, there are still 149 items that can't be found, and they don't seem to be on any of my HDs. Some of them were purchased from iTunes, some were ripped from CD and some were free tracks found on various artist/label sites. Where could they have disappeared to?

Applications :: Copy Items To IPhoto And ITunes?
Nov 3, 2010In preferences for iTunes and iPhoto you have the option to copy items to the applications or not when importing. Obviously if you copy them when importing then you will take up more hard drive space since you will now have the items in two locations.
Is there an advantage to copying items instead of not? I did have it set up to copy items (defaults that way) but would prefer to save hard drive space.
Whats are your preferences and why?
OS X :: ITunes Not See Home Recordings As Separate Items
Jul 19, 2009I have lots of stuff recorded in local studios with various vocal quartets as well as stuff done on my 4 track and eight track recorders, my problem is that when I try to download them into iTunes (all now on CD) it does not see them as individual recordings (even when the album title and song info is on the original disc as in studio recordings and some of my home recorded stuff). The result is that I record the first album without a problem and give it a title, then, when I download the second album it simply adds it to the first, so that the first track of the second album starts with the next number after the last track of the first ie the last track of the first album is say 14, the first track of the second is 15.
More to the point I cannot give the second album it's own name and the only way to access it is bring up the first album and select track 15. I am sure this is because they are not 'Professional' recording even though they were made in pro studios, the titles do not appear in any search lists. Load my non commercial CDs into iTunes in such way that I can access them as individual recordings and not just a giant list of everything that I have recorded in my lifetime. For the record I might add that I think the whole iTunes programme is counter intuitive and a complete pain in the nether regions to navigate, but I will put up with it since it is one of very few things that get me down about my Mac Pro.

Jul 4, 2010Any time I try to remove an icon from the dock or an item from the login items and then logout/restart they come right back. It's like OS X is remembering my last login and then just duplicating it. I can't get it to keep it the settings I give it. Google and a quick search of the forums gave me nothing.
