Some of my music isn't playing on my MacAir. At the beginning of half of my songs there is an exclamation mark. How can I remove to allow my songs to play?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have updated my iPhone 5 to the 8.1.1 iOS, and am trying to clear space by removing songs from my phone. When I open my iTunes, it registers there are 243 songs on my phone, but when I open the music app on my phone there are 268 songs showing. So I can't delete the songs via my iTunes on my Macbook. Apple support first told me to turn off "Show All Music" under the Music tab in Settings, which I did. Then he told me to hold my finger over the song and "swipe left" to get the delete option. This works for any other song on my phone except for the ones that were iTunes purchases, including this just average U2 album that magically deposited itself as well. Do not know of any other way to remove songs from my phone. Possibly restoring the phone to original settings? I don't really want to do that.

I copied a lot of songs to my cell phone so I can here them wherever I go. However, i noticed that because of the album artwork, I couldn't copy as much songs as I wanted. Is there away I can remove the artwork embedded in the mp3 files WITHOUT reimporting them back to iTunes? I don't want to remove the artwork from the iTunes library, just from the phone card. Is there a separate application that can batch-handle ID3 tags and artwork? i copied the songs from my macbook to the m2 memory stick using a usb adapter so i can use the songs on my ericsson. I think it is really annoying that iTunes requires songs to be in the library to handle them. I could really use a separate application or a script/folder action that would do the trick - freeware or shareware

So iTunes keeps crashing when trying to "Match". I just want a single Playlist with a few selected items to be available to Apple TV so how do I change things? As a result of trying to find a way into iCloud to amend things I started a process that threatened to erase all my Address Book and Calendar data and couldn't easily stop it - kept going round in circles! Lost all Calendar data on my computer so had to restore from Time Machine - how do I cancel that part of iCloud?

So all my itunes purchases are in the cloud which is great. What about playlists. Doesn't seem there is any way to put those on a cloud? Is the only way to replicate them everywhere by manually plugging in and syncing?

I have a ton of material in the itunes store which I have not downloaded because I decided to save space on my drive, and use the streaming cloud option instead. I have the iTunes preferences setup as: Show iTunes in the cloud purchases
I have the iTunes View setup as: Show movies in the cloud However all my cloud content (links) has disappeared. I can only see what is physically downloaded. The artwork with the little cloud banner is not there anymore.

I nearly purchased and downloaded James Cameron's Aliens, when I noticed below the purchase buttons the note that This movie will not be available from iTunes in the Cloud. Why? Isn't that point of a digital copy? I could just as easily buy a used DVD cheaper and rip it. The film is still for sale in the iTunes store, why could I not get it in the Cloud? Does this also mean I can't download it again if it's deleted?

I just purchased a new iMac with the latest iTunes (12.)
I'd transferred my iTunes off the old Mac Mini onto an external HD. During the setup of the new iMac, I imported to library from the external HD. Now my music list includes songs from the iMac HD AND the cloud purchases. When I play the songs, iTunes will play both those copies on the Mac as well as DOWNLOAD the song from the cloud.
i'm on a limited data plan & I don't want songs downloaded which already exist on my HD. Where's the "stopper" for this?

I am obviously missing something here, but can I synch my iTunes library stored in iCloud to my iPod Classic or must I physically have that music stored on my Mac?

If I don't want to restore content from my backup with old Apple IDs (wife's old deactivated account, brother's account, etc), how do I remove that content from a backup? I skip in the restore process, but that doesn't seem to remove anything. I'm assuming the content/media from the other accounts isn't loaded.
I guess I'm looking to create a fresh backup with only the iTunes items associated with my account. I can't find a way to identify what media is from these other accounts in iTunes, so I keep getting this issue when I restore from a backup.

So over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?
I transferred all my itunes library to an external hard drive.I had all my songs in itunes and then went to "preferences" and set itunes to look on my external hard drive for my itunes. Then I went to "library" and then "consolidate", and it moved all my library over to my external. I can verify that my songs are all there on my externalHowever, now, itunes won't play any songs of mine. I double click on the song in itunes and it just wont play. There's no error message, there's no exclamation point, it just won't play. Any idea what is goign on? Preferences still shows that my library is directing to the external
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook with about 5,000 songs on it, all of which are burned from actual hard copies of CDs that I own. Rather than re-burning each CD to my new Windows computer, I would like to see if there's a way to transfer all these songs from Mac to PC using an external hard drive.
The real question is how can I format my external hard drive to be recognized on both a Macbook running Snow Leopard and a PC running Windows 7?

I have 2 macs with two completely independent iTunes databases. They are used for differnt purposes and contain different music. I really do not want to merge these two databases.
From time to time I need to selectively transfer some few songs from the one computer to the other one. Is there a clever way I can achieve this? I would like to transfer the files including the metadata.
I recently cleaned out my computer and reinstalled all of my applications, photos, videos, and music. Now, some of my songs are being cutoff before the song reaches the end. I suspect this is due to iTunes inaccurately placing gaps between my songs.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow come this feature has never been released? How many times have you been listening to music with friends through a stereo, or simply enjoying a good shuffle list, and all of a sudden you're struck with an urging to hear a different song. Problem is, you don't want to leave the one you're on, you only want to listen to it next. And even after you finish listening to it, you want to be able to resume your previous shuffle list. Seems common enough right?
Then why has Apple never released this feature? I understand the ability to make customizable playlists, but we're not talking about lots of songs. Just one single song. And it could be designed to only allow one song to be qued. Not too challenging I would think.
And it would be so easy to implement. Add a button next to the genius button on the bottom of iTunes with a big Q on it. Highlight the song you want, press that button, and BAM. Done. On an iPod touch/iPhone, just swipe over the song you want to que up (like in email), and a red button will pop up saying "que" and done. And on an iPod with a click wheel, maybe hold down the center button and the fast-foward button when you're highlighted over the song you want to que and done.
