Mar 19, 2012I am obviously missing something here, but can I synch my iTunes library stored in iCloud to my iPod Classic or must I physically have that music stored on my Mac?

Dec 27, 2010I am running out of space on my laptop so I am moving all my music to an external hard drive. If I keep my file directory structure and naming the same, can I simply "re-point" iTunes to this new storage location and all my songs (etc...) will keep working in iTunes? Will storing the music on an external hard drive effect the performance (speed) of iTunes and/or iPod syncing?

When I plug in an iPod to sync, would iTunes automatically find the media folders (both music and photo)? Oct 9, 2010Normally I have my music stored on an external HD. When I sync my iPhone the music is synced with the content of the external drive. Were I not to have the drive turned on during the sync, iTunes would delete the music on my iPhone as it would sync the "no music" on my pc with the music on my iPhone. Now I am traveling and will be away from my external HD for about a month. I would like to add some apps to my iPhone but if I do a sync I will lose all that music until I can get back home. Not what I want to have happen. Is there any way to prevent iTunes from syncing the music, i.e. just letting what's there alone and syncing the rest of the content?

Jun 10, 2012I have been encountering a current issue that I find to be alarming, and want to know if anyone else knows how to remedy the issue. I have OS X Lion and all my software is up to date; I have an iPad 2 and it is also up to date. There has been an issue when I try to sync my music from iTunes to my iPad. It gets to the final stage of syncing, and then the music starts to download, and then it will only download a couple songs onto the iPad and then the computer will freeze. It forces me to completely shut down my computer, and it is really concerning me now. The whole computer is moving completely slow, almost to the point where a simple click on an application causes the rainbow spinning wheel.

Mar 18, 2012with my iPod 5G, I recently switched from automatic synching to adding music manually, because my library exceeds the 60GB storage. Now, in the appropriate iTunes window, I find the options to do so by lists, artists, genres, and albums, and the only option I can use is this last one. However, it does not list them by the name applied to them in my iTunes library, but instead a mixture of artist and album title, which makes it very uncomfortable to handle. I would rather have this list to be sorted exactly by the album names as applied in the title information in iTunes.

May 25, 2012my imac 2.4 core2duo died. i immediately bought a new 21.5" 2.8 i7 iMac. The only thing I regretted was that I lost my music catalog - imported from PC to the first iMac and added to, this included the napster hey day stuf too. Â
I just realized that all that old stuff is also on an old iPod that i have (how I transferred the music to the iMac 2.4 in the first place.Â
How do I get this music into the new 21.5" iMac? The iTunes on the new computer allows me to play it from the iPod, but not move it into the iMac.Â
