May I know how to resize keynote presentation to 200 width X 100 height, instead of default sizes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dual monitor setup at present with a 24 inch iMac (waiting for my 27" i7 to arrive) and a 23 inch Cinema display. The problem is that the height of the Cinema Display is much lower than my imac, I currently have it sitting on a couple of metal Oakley sunglasses cases to raise it to the same height as my iMac 24" but it looks messy - does anyone have any great solutions for raising the height of the 23 inch cinema display to align with an iMac 24 or even better 27?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of buying a 24" ACD, but I have one major dilemma - I really want the viewable areas to match up PERFECTLY (it's a huge pet peeve of mine to have the viewable areas mismatched on monitors). I currently have a 24" iMac, so I know I will have to adjust the height of the 24" Cinema Display to match the viewable area of the 24" iMac. So, my question is this - does anyone know if the viewable areas on the 24" iMac and the 24" Cinema Display are the exact same dimensions? I know they are both 1920x1200 but I can't find any mention of the exact measurements.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to upgrade my 13" MBP from the standard 500 GB HDD to a Crucial m4 SSD. Cause there are 2 versions of this SSD (heights: 7mm and 9,5mm), I wanted to ask which height the standard HDD in the MBP has. Is it possible to plug in a SSD with 9,5mm height or do I need the 7mm version? Â

I love Safari's Reader function...I just wish it took up a wider portion of the screen.Currently, the text itself, not including the margins of the "paper", takes up less than 50% of the screen width.

My 'right-click' window has become huge and unwieldy because of a Canon website link at the end that I can't find a way to get rid of (see attached image).
How do I remove or shorten this link (I'd prefer to totally remove it)?
Can anyone explain how this might have happened?
Is it possible to adjust the default width of columns in Finder? As you can see from the attached screenshot, almost all of my file names are too long to fit in the column, and I have to continually resize the width of the column to show everything.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCan you change the default size of the widths of the columns when you open Finder in Column View? I'm getting tired of grabbing the drag-bars and adjusting every time just so I can read the truncated text in sub-folders.

When view folder through finder and bumping up the size of the icons it makes the window wider so I need to use the horizontal scroll bar to see all the items. This really does not make much sense and I would rather have what it does in iPhoto, the images get bigger and it just pumps the list down (makes the vertical scroll longer etc.). I hope this makes sense, I can not seem to find a setting to change it however.

I have a Mini that I am going to be using as an HTPC. I would also like to use it just to surf and check E's and general stuff like that. My question is that if I am sitting 6-8 ft. away from a 46" TV will the font be viewable or will it be to small (or fuzzy) to be a practical surfing set up. Anyone have any experience with this type of set-up? TW - the TV I am looking at getting is a Samsung Touch of Color LCD.

When I attach files to Mail 7.3 it often displays the entire file, not the icon. I find this highly annoying. Yes, I can one-by-one right click on the document and instruct Mac to send the file as in icon only. But I would prefer Mavericks Mail to default to a convention where attachments are (View as Icons) and not to display entire document...
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got my new macbook pro last week, been having some problems ever since i changed my ram to Kingston 1066MHz DDR3, supposedly to be compatible with the MBP.
I have experienced horizontal lines of flickering and freeze of my entire system, which requires me to do a hard reset. I have recorded a video of it here.
I have also experienced similar type of freeze, but the screen pixels just cluster together at the top 20% of the screen, much like this.
I have ALSO experienced my keyboard totally not responding when i try to recover from a password saved screensaver!! The mouse is working fine, but the system just can't detect any keystroke input, forcing me to shutdown forcefully again!
I don't have time to send in my MBP as i need to work on it, and cannot do without a machine, any ideas how to resolve this?
May i also know which rams are compatible with Mac?
the desktop, from which all icons and folders have disappeared, when I press command shift n, which should create a BLESSEDLY VIEWABLE folder on the desktop, nothing happens. I am a MAC convert, but have built up my hate muscle on this one.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI hope you don't mind helping a guy out in his choice in what he truly needs... so I guess I'll get down to the basics.
First off, music is my main priority when it comes to computing, I write all sorts of electronic music, I'm used to working in Windows under Ableton or FL Studio, so I'm not hip to the Mac software for these functions.
In addition to the electronic music I write, I'm also very much into music instruments, I've been playing drums for around 8 years now, bass for 5 years, guitar even... so I plan on multi-track recording... up to 16, maybe even 32?I do plan on opening up my own home studio, I would be using this PC, (not sure if the MBP or the iMac)
I'm also a lightweight gamer, playing games such as Team Fortress 2, World of Warcraft, or StarCraft II (Diablo 3 will probably be my biggest gaming vice when it comes out) sparingly in my free time, which would be better for this sort of light gaming?I sometimes spend up to 8 hours on the computer, also, so if these screens are too harsh on the eyes after extended periods of time, I'd appreciate if someone could enlighten me to that.
SO, with all that said, which do you guys think would suit me better? (and I'm really thinking the iMac would)... I used to want portability, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable taking a $2,000 laptop with me around campus at the local community college.
- Needs to be able to record up to 32 tracks of audio
- Needs to be able to render high quality tracks
- Minimal latency
- Able to run some of the less graphic intensive games out now
- Easy on the eyes for extended periods of time
Oh, I'm also an amateur filmmaker, I love filming, editing, and producing, etc.Would you guys suggest the i5? i7? Oh, and what clock speed does the 2.93GHz i7 run at when in turbo-boost using all cores?Oh, and what's the resale value of the iMac compared to the MBP? I heard the MBP retain pretty well, is the same true of iMac's?
System Spec: Late 09 21" 3.06, GeForce 9400, 4gb ramCurrently I have itunes and safari running, if i enable the visualizer my imac is noticeably slower, especially when browsing the internet.I thought it might be the fact I was running a second 1080p display from the 9400 would have caused the slow down. But the same thing occurred after i disconnected it. After repairing permissions and restarting, pmram etc.Is the 9400 causing the slowdown? I know its fairly old but itunes visualizer and safari should be quite basic tasks. Its not the end of the world i know but does the 27" imac have similar issues as i plan to upgrade my machine in 2011.
I had a DLink DIR-655 Wireless N router and my wireless was running very fast, 9.7MB using [URL] with no lag looking up sites. I had to upgrade the router since I was hosting a site and the router wasn't working properly for that.
So, I bought a Linksys WRT610N Dual Band router. I have the iMac running on the 5GHz band and it runs around the same speed.
HOWEVER, when I open Safari or Firefox, in the status bar, it says "looking up google.ca..." or whatever site I'm browsing for and can take up to 5-10 seconds before it starts to display the site. When it is on the site, browsing around is fast as long as it doesn't change domains.
ANOTHER HITCH, I have VMWare's Fusion installed on the iMac and Vista installed there and there is no lag to browsing a site. When I type in the site, it immediately goes to the site and I am able to browse fine.
Any thoughts on this?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI sent an email to Steve Jobs about my yellow tint 21.5 iMac issues (three exchanges, all affected, resulting in a refund). I got a call from Dena at Executive Care within 24 hours.
She said they are aware of the problem and do not know how widespread it is. According to Dena, the issue is not resolved and that ordering a new iMac will not result in a fixed display.
She said the engineers are working on it now and they are not sure if it's hardware (most likely) or software related. Further Apple stores cannot do repairs because they haven't determined what the issue is.
I have been reading and reading but I can't seem to find the answer. Im trying to figure out if the optical drive for the iMac has a slimline sata connector or a standart sata connector. Reason is I'd like to install an SSD and use an optibay adaptor.
