ITunes For Mac :: Purchased Song Will Not Play
Jun 17, 2014I recently purchased an album and one of the songs plays for only 4 seconds before switching to another song. The song is supposed to be much longer. I tried deleting it and redownloading, but the song is available with an "album only" purchase so I cannot redownload. I have restored the song to my library but it still only plays for 4 seconds.

Apr 21, 2012I purchased an entire album on iTMS, on my Mac(Lion), and all but one track will play on iTunes, and iPhone4(iOS 5.1). I've additionally downloaded the purchased album on another Mac(Snow Leopard), and all tracks play, except the one track in question. When I go to play this song, it prompts me to 'authorize' the track to be played. I put in the correct info, and it does NOT play. This happens on each device. There were no iterruptions in any of the downloads of the tracks.Â
I purchased this music and I want to be able to listen to it! Apple

Mar 3, 2012I purchased a song from iTunes today and after it downloaded I was unable play it after being told my computer was not authorized to play the song. After going through the steps to "authorize the computer" I was told it is already authorized. Thinking I was then going to be able to play the song, I was once again being told that my computer was not authorized.

Dec 2, 2010I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..
Is there any way that I can line up a song to play after the current song without interrupting the current song and immediately playing the song I want next?

Jun 8, 2012I cannot play a song on itunes by double clicking the song. I can only play a song by fast forwarding or fast backing from the original song played to the next song I want to play. I can then hit play and the song will play. what is my problem other than general ineptitude?

May 8, 2012I just purchased an album from the iTunes store and it downloaded the whole album except one song, which it tells me it can't download because the file is corrupted. It tells me to re-download by pressing "Check Available Downloads", which if done many times and it doesn't work! It just keeps telling me the same thing over and over. I think the error is -100000.

When I go then to my MacBook and open the album in iTunes (12.0.1.26) on Yosemite, for some reason at least half of the tracks aren't there. When I went to the iTunes store to try and re-download them to my iTunes, it told me that I'd already purchased them, yet it gave me no option to download anywhere that I could see. May 14, 2012After purchasing 2 albums, one song on each will repeatably download 5 times and then error with err = -100000. I have reproduced the error on 3 Macs with the same account, iPad and iPhone. Support reset the download and I removed the downloads folder, but the same thing occurs. Macs are Lion and devices are iOS 5.1.1. Music in the Cloud is enabled. All others songs on the albums downloaded fine. I regularly purchase music and have not had problems until recently. Only changes would be Apple Software updates.

Jun 13, 2012I just bought an album on iTunes (same account I always use, the only one computer I have), and for some reason only ONE of the songs is telling me "This song is not authorized to play on your computer." I tried typing in my info to see if that would work, but it didn't, it said this computer is already authorized (which I already knew, because every other song on my iTunes plays, including all the other songs on this particular album). I followed all the tips on the support website for this particular issue and nothing worked. I also went into my account, deauthorized all the computers (my old computers that I don't have anymore were still on there), then reauthorized this one, and still no luck. How do I get this song to play?

Feb 20, 2009When I go to play a song in iTunes (any song at all, and all the files are definitely there) it just won't play. The play/pause button will change to the pause symbol but nothing else will happen. The ticker-thing at the top which tells you what is playing will say that, that song is on but the timer just stays at 0:00.
Currently running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes but this happened before when I was on Vista too. Seems to happen every time I open iTunes now...

May 28, 2012This has been happening to me for a while now. Sometimes when I drag music files into iTunes, only some of the songs will actually work. The ones that don't will play the first few seconds and then skip to the next song. I know that these files are NOT corrupted because if I keep deleting it from iTunes and reading it, I will eventually get the whole song to play. It's super annoying and I hate having to manually upload every single track multiple times. When I sync my iPhone to my computer, the same songs will only play a few seconds!
