ITunes For Mac :: Not Localized / Just Upgraded To 11.2.2
Jun 2, 2014
Just upgraded my itunes to 11.2.2 and now it will not open. Message pops up saying, "This version of iTunes has not been correctly localized for this language. Please run the english version." I cannot do anything else in iTunes though. It just shows me that message.
What's the deal with that? How can I fix it? I already tried reinstalling Safari, so obviously that didn't work, unless I didn't do it right. Any ideas?
Evidently through automatic upgrades my iTunes has upgraded itself to version 7.7.1 - I just tried to open it and got a pop up window telling me that in order to use iTunes I need OS 10.4.9 (I have 10.4.6). How could it have downloaded for an OS that it won't work with? I don't feel like shelling out the bucks for the OS upgrade, and when I tried to install an older version of iTunes, I got another pop up window telling me I couldn't because a newer version was already installed. I'm afraid that if I dump the newer one I'll lose all my tunes.
I recently upgraded to the newest version of itunes (10.6) and now I am getting an itunes error 13005. I have my itunes running through an external WD Passport. I have read the threads on this and have tried deleting the genius/.itdb files and I am still getting the same error. I have also searched for .lock files, but I can't find any of those files.
I don't remember doing this in the last few days, but I must have updated to 10.6. Just launched iTunes and the Library comes up blank/ new - it created a new one. I Option + launched to navigate to my existing Library (on external hard drive) and it is grayed out, iTunes will not recognize it.
When I quit iTunes the window closes and the glowing dot fades out. Then it comes straight back. Also I thought iTunes was now 64-bit? But Activity Monitor says its 32-bit.
I upgraded to iTunes 11.4 today, and now I'm not able to sync my iPhone 5s. The sync button is greyed out. I tried reinstalling, reauthorizing, signing in again in iTunes and my iPhone. I also restored my phone twice...not sure what else to do. I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on an iMac Intel Core Duo.

I can't deposit a new midi into my library. I try following the instructions but the song doesn't appear on the main Music library list, and I can't drop in to the Playlist file, where I need to have it as an mp3, so I can make a new CD of this song list. Â
I just had my iMac mini cleaned up and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.4 and things are not working the way they were. Before this, I was able just to drag the midi into the main Music library list, turn it into an mp3, then drag a copy into the Playlist.Â
Info: Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.4), just upgraded; things don't work
I just "upgraded" to the most recent iTunes and now I can't import CD´s anymore, it says that I don´t have write access permissions to the iTunes Media Folder but I do, I am the administrator. I checked the permissions and gave "apply to enclosed items" and it still doesn´t work, I tried in the Music, iTunes, and Music folders too but nothing.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.2)
Ever since I upgraded to 10.6.4 I'm often getting high CPU % - it's getting annoying. It happens while watching YouTube vids, using VMWare etc., and I've also noticed Finder frequently becomes a freakin' CPU hog, bumping the % to 100%. Also, I think my MBP is running a couple degrees hotter in 10.6.4 too. What the hell
I have upgraded from using iMovie but I seem to be having a problem. I am trying to capture HD video from a Canon XH A1s and it works fine on iMovie but no matter what settings I have tried in FCP it always says that it could not connect to the deck and to try and make sure all the wires are connected. Basically it cannot connect to my camera but yet iMovie has no problems how do I fix this? EDIT: discovered a few things don't know if its helpful or not but I notticed: 1. imovie is in fact capture SD using the DV standard even though the camera is capable of HDV (also I have no problems capture DV in FCP ether just HDV )2. If I set the controls to DVCPRO I can control the camera in FCP but I can't capture or see a video preview.
3. No matter what I try it will not let me control or even recognize the existence of this camera in HDV format.Edit 2 : Problem Solved! The camera was set to auto detect HDV or DV and was not working right so I forced it into HDV and now it works fine
I currently have a 17" 2.8GHz MBP, it's the previous edition just replaced in this latest release (purchased about a year ago). I'm considering selling my current MBP and replacing it with the new i7, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm a photographer and do all of my editing on this laptop, so any boost in speed *should* help my workflow. I'm also a p/t student, so I qualify for academic pricing, and the free iPod they're currently offering.
I upgraded my ram with Crucial 8gb kit for my Macbook Pro (Mid 2010). After playing a game I noticed that my fan speed was much higher than it originally was when I hadn't changed it and it was 4gb. I already tried resetting SMC and nothing has changed.
Can a Macbook that runs on 10.4 Tiger be upgraded to 10.6 Leopard?
I bought a used Macbook. It has the following specs: MacBook 2,1 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz 4 GB Memory 667MHz
I reformated the Mac for a fresh start (20GB+ of the space were used up and the seller claimed that everything was erased)
However, the sad news is that the discs that the seller sent me appear to be 10.5.2 Tiger. In the auction, seller claimed that the OS is upgraded to 10.4 Tiger. When I tried to install, I get the error saying that "This software cannot be installed."
So... now it looks like I will have to buy an installation disk?
My question is will this laptop be able to run a 10.6 Leopard (I just put this example in because it seems to be the most popular one or something. I am new to Mac.)? Or will I receive the same error for that 10.5 Tiger?
would like to say that is my first mac and I am loving it. I've got the new 13" 1.86ghz 128gb and the upgraded ram 4gb. Now I've fully charged it and left it on a further 2 hours or so, following the instructions for calibrating the battery. Now that I'm using the macbook, I'm noticing the battery going down fairly quick, already at 88% after 30mins of use. Is it supposed to go down this quick?
pretty set on getting a single processor Mac Pro, 2.8 in the standard configuration.my dual 1.8G5 died a few weeks back, and as patient as i'd like to be about waiting for a new Mac Pro, i don't think i can wait until June...of course, if i *knew* it were march, i might be able to, but who knows...it's all a matter of rolling the dice.my question is this: is it worth spending the extra $150 (or slightly discounted) on the 8880GT video card in terms of "future usage"?i am not a gamer nor need great video power for my things (i do photoshop but no video editing, etc.)
However, i note that a new 8800GT costs in the 230+ range and i wonder aloud if i'm better off buying it now and being set for the life of the machine.my plan/hope: i will keep this machine, just like i did my old Powermac, for hopefully 4-6 years (assuming it doesn't die...if my G5 hadn't died, i'd still be happily using it for another year or two).or should i wait...and maybe a couple of years down the road, buy a faster video card for about the same $150 (or will such a thing be available once new Mac Pros come out)?
So a lot of people are recommending that I upgrade to 4GB of memory on the 13" MBP 2.26ghz, but does it really make much of a difference? I do a lot of photo editing work and occasionally play games like The Sims 3.
I'm starting my masters program (interactive multimedia) in September and my powerbook won't cut it. So I plan on upgrading. I think of now I want the 17" 3.06 with the 500 GB 7200 RPM drive. My question is can the RAM be upgraded easily at a later date when it won't cost me almost a grand to max it out. Do you think I should go glossy or antiglare?
Also apple always updates the laptop line in september along with the ipod line, do you think apple will update them again even though they were just updated in June? What do you think will be updated? If I go with the above specs, how much faster will the MBP be then my current IMac? (see sig for specs) Will it be significant?
After making sure my Macbook was properly backed up (Time Machine and cloned to external), I put the SL disk in. Waited the 30 minutes for the install and got the language selection window. Then, after clicking continue once or twice I got to the Install Mac OS X window where the hard drive SHOULD have been and that little white box is blank. Disk utility only shows my DVD drive. Not sure what is going on....
Seems that this happens with the original Leopard install disks as well so I am mistaken and this is NOT a SL issue. I did put in a Western Digital 320 gig drive as an upgrade an am pretty sure that I cloned my old drive to it. Wondering if there is a problem with the Mac recognizing the drive or a jumper setting that I need to play with. Apple care has been great and is still on the phone working with me on this.
UPDATE: Installed by putting HDD into firewire enclosure and then back in after install was done. Seems to be working fine now.
