ITunes :: Computer Won't Let To Download The New?

I have clicked on "check for updates" in itunes and it tells me there is a new itunes to download, so when i click on down load it goes to my system softwear updates which after a very long time "checking" comes back and tells me there is nothing to update. But i know there is. I have sucsessfully downlaoded the new itunes on my iphone and ipad but just wont do it on my macbook.

I just got a new hard drive and did a clean install. I also installed iTunes, but when I launch it, I can't see any option that allows me to download previously made purchases from the iTunes store. Any ideas how to get it to do this?.......

after changing a number of computers i went to download my previous purchases onto my new laptop, however they now do not appear at all as in i have no purchase history, the same has now occured on my iphone but when checking my account details it shows payments made for purchases from a few days ago.

I'm running 10.6, and I would like to make my computer such that a friend (not on my local network) can directly download a large file from my computer. I would like to set this up in such a way that my friend will only be able to access a single directory (the Shared folder, for instance). Essentially, I want her to be able to download a file from my computer without giving her access to anything else, and without having to give out any sensitive information. I attempted to search, but as I'm not facile with the terminology, I didn't find an answer.

I have satellite Internet with low bandwidth limits meaning that updating software is nearly impossible without packing up my iMac and bringing it to a library or some other open WiFi spot. I brought my laptop to the library and updated it with the newest iPhoto, but I would like to update the copy I have on my iMac.

I have all my music on an external HD that I've used for a few years. I told my old computer (1GHz TiBook G4 with Tiger) to export my iTunes library, which it did, as a .xml file. Then, I opened that file on my new iMac, and only about 1/5 of the songs were found, apparently. This doesn't make sense to me, as the iMac is connected to the HD when I import the old library. If it makes a difference, the TiBook was NOT connected to the HD when I exported the library. I have the two computers networked together via Ethernet right now, though.

I went into system preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver. And then I changed the "Start Screen Saver" option to never, but it said for the others after 10min " Your computer will sleep before your screen saver activates. So will my computer stop downloading a file from the internet if i just leave my computer on over night? How do i change my signature?

I am having a problem with iTunes. When ever I refresh my podcasts it will start downloading then about 5 min in my whole computer freezes. This only happens with this program and this function. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling. All other programs work without incident. I am running XP. I also have the newest version of iTunes.

My computer won't automatically download pdf files from the internet anymore. My instructors post lecture notes in pdf format on our online learning site and they won't download when I click on the link. I used one computer to back up my Iphone, then when I got a new Iphone I used another computer. I would like to use the second computer from now on. They both have different information from the phones. I would like to merge the two accounts on the second computer so that all the information is put back onto the new phone.
I do not want to erase and replace. The two computers are not connected in any way. I do not have sharing turned on at this time. how to get the information from the first computer to the second computer. Step by step. and also how to merge the two accounts without losing any information.

I have a Macbook Pro and a desktop PC with iTunes installed on each with the same account. However, my iTunes purchases are not reflected the same on each computer. For example, my Macbook has two tv seasons of The Wire that does not appear on my PC iTunes. Also, there are a number of apps on my PC that I don't have on my Mac notebook. This is especially annoying as I sync my iPhone 4 most frequently with my desktop.
