Mar 19, 2012I have clicked on "check for updates" in itunes and it tells me there is a new itunes to download, so when i click on down load it goes to my system softwear updates which after a very long time "checking" comes back and tells me there is nothing to update. But i know there is. I have sucsessfully downlaoded the new itunes on my iphone and ipad but just wont do it on my macbook.

I have a card reader, but i left it at school for the break and i was trying to get file transfers to work over bluetooth.after poking around in the phone settings and getting the phone to be recognized by the computer, i got it connected fairly easily, but my problem is this: firstly, in the bluetooth menu, it says the phone is "not connected" and i can't find a way to make it stay connected. Second, when i try to browse my phone via bluetooth, i get an error that says that my phone doesn't have the necessary services.

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems. Â
Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

Library.xml is located on the INTERNAL Drive. The iTunes Music File Folder is on an external G-Drive Mini. I just purchased newest Mac Mini running Lion and iTunes 10.6. I want to move the iTunes folder and the Music File Folder from my old Mac Mini to the NEW INTERNAL Drive eliminating the external drive.

Dec 8, 2009I have all my music on an external HD that I've used for a few years. I told my old computer (1GHz TiBook G4 with Tiger) to export my iTunes library, which it did, as a .xml file. Then, I opened that file on my new iMac, and only about 1/5 of the songs were found, apparently. This doesn't make sense to me, as the iMac is connected to the HD when I import the old library. If it makes a difference, the TiBook was NOT connected to the HD when I exported the library. I have the two computers networked together via Ethernet right now, though.

Aug 7, 2009not sure if this have been asked, i couldn't find anything in the forum search... I've noticed since i've done the latest OSX and iTune updates on my Macbook, that iTune will often freeze, esp if i have it running along any other apps, such as safari, firefox, or just even if my screen saver comes on while the music plays. The activity monitor will show iTune as Not Responding.. therefore i always have to Force Quit the application. if I dont do so, the whole system will freeze and i'll require to reboot it with the power button..
anyone else noticing this problem? I noticed that my other macbook pro does the same, thought I'd throw the question out there and see if other ppl are experiencing the same issue.

1) Can I go to 10.6 or higher?
2) If I change the processor out to an Intel, can I go higher?
3) Is there any upgrades that would allow me to put a later OS X version on it, and if there is, is it worth upgrading?
I know it's old, but it works fine, and this is my first Mac (I've had it for 1 year - It was given to me), and I am breaking myself slowly from the PC

This only happens with this program and this function. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling. All other programs work without incident. I am running XP. Dec 29, 2008I bought an airport express about 2 months ago, it was working perfectly until today when it stopped working all of a sudden. It doesn't appear in my wireless networks list and it doesn't appear in airport utility either.
The light is constantly amber, never flashing and it only turns green for a second after turning it on, then goes back to amber.
I tried to do a hard reset but it doesn't flash the 4 green lights. It just flashes amber for about 15 seconds and then the light turns off completely until I let go the reset button, then it goes back to the constant amber... really strange.

May 1, 2012I re-ripped one of my CDs recently (for reasons of no importance), and I noticed that the audio improved. There was less distortion and I could notice more details (smoother sound). I tried this with a few more albums, and the result was the same each time: better sound. This confused me; how does ripping actually work? And what could be responsible for the sound difference? P.S. X Lossless Decoder also produces results different from iTunes.
