Whenever I use Utorrent or Bittorrent it downloads fine for about a minute then comes up with either "error invalid download state, try resuming" or "Error Permission denied" I have obviously tried resuming the torrents but the same happens in another minute or so.

I was doing a software update in an outdated Mac OS X 10.7.3 to get all the latest updates through its Apple Software Update. However, one of them failed to upgrade: iTunes v10.6.1 to v10.6.3. After rebooting to let Mac OS X 10.7.3 to 10.7.4, Apple Software Updater shows it 97% partially downloaded. I have over 31 GB free, so it can't be a free disk space problem. I tell it to resume download, but it quickly fails from 169 MB to about 172.7 MB (176.9 MB is the whole size) with "The update "iTunes" can't be installed. The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during the downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs."Â
I think the download is bad and is needs to be manually(?) deleted for me to retry. Where is this corrupted file at?
But then when I access a download site and run the download, I get a text edit mess and not a download of software. How can I get a Quicktime update so that I can use iTunes (the whole program is stopped)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.
