Jul 24, 2010
I will buy a new Mac (iMac or MBP) soon to replace my current iMac G5. What is the quickest and easiest way to transfer files including my iTunes library & iPhone apps & safari bookmarks to the new Mac?
I recently purchased a Macbook Pro, and now want to put all of my music from my iphone4 to my itunes library on the computer, I cannot do this, so I have made my iphone a device so that I used to be able to "grab and drop" downloaded music into my device of the iphone, however recently upgrading my itunes I cannot do this anymore!
When I transfer. I get told that 75 songs can't be do to an unauthirized computer. When I authorize the computer I get told it's already authorized. I repeated that sequence 3 times. no change.
Im trying to transfer the music from my iphone to a new imac, the help centre notes say to go to the store, click authorize computer and go from there, i know its a dumb question, but i can't find the authorise computer bit
I was previously using windows vista and my iphone is synced on the vista. Now that ive got a new macbook, i want to transfer preferences, messages, settings, songs, pictures, contacts and jailbroken applications etc on my iphone 3G to the new macboook. i dont need to have play counts or ratings transferred. just hoping to be able to sync my iphone to the new macbook like it was able to with the vista with nothing lost. my contacts are not saved with outlook.
I have some large video files on an external drive, and I'd like to put them on my iPhone. I have very limited hard drive space on my computer, so I'd rather not copy all of the files onto my iTunes library. Is there any way to transfer the files directly onto my iPhone from the external drive?

My cousin is trying to move her library from her desktop PC to her laptop PC. She used the itunes backup tool to transfer her library. She authorized her laptop to play her itunes store music and videos, but if she tries to play one of those protected files on the laptop it says she is not authorized to play it.
I want to transfer my itunes library complete with playlists and such from my macbook to new Imac. However, I did want to mention that currently the Itunes Library File is being shared by two users on this macbook. I want to transfer using an external hard drive. Is there an easy step-by-step process to do this?
I recently brought a MacBook Pro laptop and I already have a IPhone. My IPhone is already synced up to my windows computer but I would like to now use my laptop with the IPhone. How do I transfer my my music from my itunes library on my windows which my IPhone is synced to onto my new MacBook. I have tried to plug my IPhone in my MacBook but I am worried it will wipe it clean. How to transfer library from windows to mac?
I just got a new MacBook Pro 15" and I love it. I just have a quick question, though--how do I go about transferring my itunes stuff from my old Mac laptop to my new one? I tried consolidating the library, and then dragging the iTunes file to the new computer (and then going into preferences and selecting the iTunes Media folder location), but that didn't work.
Just a quick question, I have a friend who recently the HDD go out in her laptop. She has all her music in her iPhone, but if I replace the HDD in her laptop for her, is there a way to transfer the music from her iPhone to her computer? I think this is a pretty common questions but I just Googled it and found some random "sketchy tutorials" with self-promotions for random tools like "tansee iPhone -> PC" and the like...
Just wondering if there's a handy/favorite program you guys out there use? Windows or Mac software is fine.
Basically somehow my iTunes got jacked up.. just the music part of it.. Anyway, they are all songs from my CDs or mp3's, but just as a failsafe, I would like to backup my entire iTunes library to my external hdd.
I would then like to delete all the songs from my iTunes, and from my iPhone. *edit* figure'd out how to remove all the songs from my iphone.. just unchecked all songs and sync'd.. now I just need to backup itunes and delete everything from it, then reput what I want back into itunes and resync.. sweet
After which, I would like to rebuild my iTunes library using my mp3's and CD's and basically start from scratch.. so that this time around I can properly name songs/albums/artwork/etc
Then I want to take this new iTunes library, and fill my iPhone back up with my new Library in Itunes..
so basically I just want to backup my itunes just incase for some reason I cannot find a particular CD or mp3 in my collection.
Just for the record, I am using a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.2, and I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB running the latest 3.1.2 firmware (jailbroken using blackra1n rc3)
I have a new-to-me MacBook (running Lion) and I just downloaded all my music into iTunes. I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously. If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?
I recently had my Microsoft music media library shared on my Sony tv through some sore of home share. However, My media library is not that up to date and I want to update it fully with my itunes library? How do I do this?
I have a Macbook with about 5,000 songs on it, all of which are burned from actual hard copies of CDs that I own. Rather than re-burning each CD to my new Windows computer, I would like to see if there's a way to transfer all these songs from Mac to PC using an external hard drive.
The real question is how can I format my external hard drive to be recognized on both a Macbook running Snow Leopard and a PC running Windows 7?
I bought an iPhone 4S about a month ago and used iTunes from my old pc to sync songs. More recently, I bought a Macbook Pro. When I try to sync songs into the iPhone through the Mac iTunes, nothing is transferred. The pictures are syncing correctly through iTunes, but songs on the iTunes library are not. What should I do to transfer songs?
I just bought a mac book air and i want to transfer all my data from my iphone 4s to my new itunes account without affecting my the data on my phone. Im hoping to keep all my music, ringtones and playlists exactly how they are on my phone now. Is this possible? I dont want to start over again with making ringtones and creating playlists.
I need to transfer my itunes to my new macbook pro. I have no access to my old PC, therefore the only access to my itunes is my phone. I have my purchased files transferred, but can't transfer "non-apple" purchases. I spoke to customer service, and he recommended dowloading a software to help.
I have my iMac here which I use to Sync my iPhone 6 Plus - This iMac 'belongs' to my iPhone 6 plus if you know what I mean..
Now a friend of mine who does not own a computer, just bought an iPhone 6 and wants to move all the photos form his old iPhone 4S to the new Phone..
So.. I imported all his Photos to iPhoto on my iMac.
Now when I open up iTunes on my iMac it immediately says to me 'Welcome to you new iPhone'.. and wants me to continue.
What do I do from here? I want to use iTunes to move all the photos from the iPhoto event I created to his new phone and this is a one off..
Is it possible to do this without messing up any future syncing between my own iMac and Phone??
Or is there some other way I can get his Photos from iPhoto on to his Phone? I am assuming that iTunes is the only way without of course having to deal with third party apps.
