ITunes :: Lockdown Folder Missing - Unable To Sync
Jun 27, 2012
Since getting my iPhone 3GS just a few months ago, I have never been able to connect to iTunes. I was getting a strange error code, but when I tried again today, I got this message instead, "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not allocate a resource." I have had this phone for months now, but have never connected it to iTunes, and would REALLY like to so I can back things up. I have tried plugging into EVERY USB on the back of my iMac. The same thing happens in each one. I've also tried unlugging ALL other peripherals, and still nothing. Oh, and FYI, the phone connects just fine to iPhoto. †
Read this in Console: "Could not create /var/db/lockdown//SystemConfiguration.plist: No such file or directory." Tried to reset the lockdown folder as described in step #6 of this article: [URL], but it says "The folder can't be found." So, I can't continue on with the steps. Now what?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
My entire iTunes music folder is missing. An "!" appears next to every song I try to play in iTunes. My playlist is still in iTunes but I can't locate any of the music. I tried searching for a song on all my hard drives but couldn't find it. The inside of my iTunes folder looks like this
I recently cancelled my iTunes match subscription. When I did, i lost approximately 2,000 songs from my library, however i found them in the iTunes folder. For some reason iTunes no longer sees the songs.  How can i get the lost songs back into iTunes? I don't know exactly which songs were lost and my total library is over 13,000 songs.
I have a iPad & iPhone which synced fine with iTunes. Now we have added a iPhone 4. It now doesn't sync all the photos from iPhoto. (7000 only syncs about 5000). I've deleted the iPod photo cache & reset isync with no luck.
it keeps saying my iPhone is disconnected for some reason. The contacts however have got uploaded on the phone after serval attempts.I however am not able to sync the phone with the computer. Every time i sync it keeps showing the same error message. Also my sms es were not restored.
Couple days ago I deleted a playlist on my Itunes accidentally. Luckily I have all my music backed up on an External HD. I remade the playlist on Itunes, transferred the music from my Ext. HD to the playlist, connected my ipod to have it synced, then disoconnected my HD and Ipod after sync and when I search the playlist on my Ipod I only get 29 of the 142 songs synced. Can someone please tell me what could be going wrong?
I have a 30 GB iPod and a Macbook. I have synced my iPod once on my Macbook and it worked fine.
I brought my iPod to work (which only has PCs), and I've been charging my iPod on the PC. The PC doesn't have iTunes, so the PC treats the iPod like it's just a mass storage device but it still charges fine. Also, the "Format" label under the settings in the iPod now says "Windows."
Now I am wanting to re-sync my iPod to my Mac to add more music, but when I do, the Mac doesn't acknowledge that the iPod is even connected (not even in the Finder window).
I have a Mac running Lion 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6.1 and I have a New iPad that I just got yesterday.  It has been updated to IOS 5.1.1.  I can get it to sync only with the USB cable.  I have verified that the iPad is on the same WiFi network as my Mac, and that Sync over WiFi is enabled on both the iPad and in iTunes.  I have three other IOS devices that are syncing over WiFi without problems so I beleive I know what I'm doing.  Maybe I missed a step?
i recently got a 3rd gen iPod shuffle. In my music i have "synced only checked playlists" I also have sync only checked songs. When I make a change to my playlist in iTunes and sync, it doesn't change in the shuffle when I sync.
So Apple sells ebooks and audio books through iTunes to people on their Macbooks. RIght? And when you go to sync these purchases to the Apple IOS devices you are told that you can not sync them to the Apple IOS device without erasing all of the rest of your music library on the same IOS device. Right?
I have to stop right here because thoughts of "class action",  of feeling having been defruaded, of having been taken for a ride. If I had nown before I bought my iPhone 4s that I would have to purchase all kinds of third party help to make it work only seemingly correct I would have never bought one. If I knew that when Jobs died this was going to happen I would have sold my Macbook right then and there. Tsk Tsk Tsk Mr Cook. So is Apple going to drive 10 hours from the nearest Apple Store to me and hand me a new Macbook without all of the bugs? Will that make me happy? No.
I have a Nokia N78 cellphone which I can sync to my Macbook Pro using iSync. This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.
itunes has decided to go all wierd on me and started playing some of my songs but not playing others. When i try to play one that will not play i get the apple logo on the top of the screen where the amount of time your into the song is normally shown and no matter how many times i press play nothing happens.
Also the songs that won't play all are coming from the same folder and when i delete them and try to add them to the library nothing happens and they aren't added. When i try to play the songs from that folder using a program other than itunes the songs play fine.
I'm really struggling to print greyscale with my HP B110 printer. Print using a greyscale colorsync profile In the OS X print dialogue box, there is a menu under the paper size and orientation settings which should have the name of the printing application in it. When users click this menu there will be universal printing options available first, followed by a set of driver-specific options. In the first set, select "Color Matching" and select the "Colorsync" radio button. Then in the "Profile" menu choose "Other Profiles" and select either "Black and White" or "Generic Gray Profile". With one of these profiles selected, printing the document will now be in black and white or greyscale.
The problem is that neither of those Profile options appear through that print dialogue box.  There are a dozen or so, such as "Wide Gamut RGB" and "Generic RGB Profile" but none mentioning Gray, Grayscale or Black. If I open ColorSync utility, I can see that there is a System file called Generic Gray Profile in /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Generic Gray - however if I navigate to this path, it is not there, only something called Gray Tone and a few others. how can I activate this profile so I can select it as a printing option?
I recently lost all the emails from my INBOX folder one of my email accounts. Is there a way of syncing this account only with its time machine backup that I have on an external hard drive. Where do I find the folders.
I've been working on a wordpress site and the folder is under applications, however when I went to open it today, I can't find the folder? There is one under my user name, but it is empty, is that were it should be? (never paid attention to where I accessed it from) There is one in "Macintosh" under "Devices", but I'm sure the one I was using was somewhere else since I can no longer log onto my wordpress. Where SHOULD the folder be? and can I copy the one from "Macintosh" to that location?
I just installed the Java update this morning and when I opened up my Macintosh HD later on in the afternoon I only had 5 folders when there used to be 6. When I went through time machine to figure out what the missing folder is it ended up being the Developer folder. I never use that folder, but I would still like to have all my folders intact.
Does anyone know if the Java update caused the Developer folder to go missing? If that folder is missing who knows what other app's or folders I have missing. I was able to restore of course from time machine, but I'm just curious on why it went missing in the first place. Does anyone have any clues/ideas?
I just noticed that my Library folder is missing from my home folder.  I have the one on my hard drive but not in the home folder.  I did a search for it and cannot find it.  I went into Time Machine and found it way back in November of 2011....it did not show up after that.  It was about that time when I installed Lion...maybe in that process I lost it from my home folder. If I can't find the missing one....and I can't.....should I restore the old one in Time Machine?  I started to do that but then I got the question about do I want to have it REPLACE the old one (I don't know where the old one is to replace), do I want to save BOTH files, or do I just want to leave the old one.  I would leave the old one if I knew where it was but I don't.  What should I do.....should I check 'replace the old one?"  Then the library folder will be one from 2011.  Does that matter?  I don't want to do the wrong thing.
