I have updated my iPhone 5 to the 8.1.1 iOS, and am trying to clear space by removing songs from my phone. When I open my iTunes, it registers there are 243 songs on my phone, but when I open the music app on my phone there are 268 songs showing. So I can't delete the songs via my iTunes on my Macbook. Apple support first told me to turn off "Show All Music" under the Music tab in Settings, which I did. Then he told me to hold my finger over the song and "swipe left" to get the delete option. This works for any other song on my phone except for the ones that were iTunes purchases, including this just average U2 album that magically deposited itself as well. Do not know of any other way to remove songs from my phone. Possibly restoring the phone to original settings? I don't really want to do that.

Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library. Its the same itunes library transferred onto this mac so i dont understand?

I am having a really hard time getting songs off of my iphone. I know that I need to go to itunes and uncheck all of the songs from the "music" tab under where I see my iphone as a device, but it's still not working. I went on other discussion boards on here and read that I should try to uncheck the box to manually manage music and then try to uncheck them again, but now I have my entire itunes library on my phone, even though I unchecked all of the boxes of music that I don't want.

i just got my first Mac. All of the files from my PC were deleted, so I'm wondering if there's a way to load all of the songs, pictures, etc on my iPhone to my Mac? I'm worried that if I connect my phone, it may sync and erase everything I have saved.

I purchased an album off of iTunes and it double-loaded the songs on my iPhone. This is annoying enough, but the doubles are faulty, with no artwork, cutting out randomly, and even crashing iTunes on my phone. I removed the songs from my library (thinking I would just re-sync and reload them after) but the faulty doubles stayed on my phone. How do I get rid of them? They're not even in my library, and they don't show on my phone when I check it in iTunes, but they're still on the phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe past week my iTunes hasn't been syncing all songs to my iPhone 4. They all appear in the list of "On this iPhone", but not all are synced. I have tried restarting iTunes and my phone. I have tried a hard reset. I have tried reinstalling iTunes on my computer. I have tried completely resetting my phone (and lost all my apps, as apparently, they hadn't been syncing to my iTunes as I thought they had after getting them on my phone).I have deleted everything on my phone, and tried to "Manage music manually". It now gets to where it starts copying the music onto my phone, but it still doesn't copy everything. I've done all this with Find my iPhone switched off because that was an issue for some. I have no Voice Memos (some suggested these may cause the problem).
I've completely lost it now. Important things in my apps are now all gone at the cost of this, and nothing works yet. This is ridiculous. Does it have to do with my iTunes library?
Some of my music isn't playing on my MacAir. At the beginning of half of my songs there is an exclamation mark. How can I remove to allow my songs to play?

I tried to use the request feature in iTunes DJ, which allows others connected to your wifi to request upcoming songs using the remote app for iPhone and iPad. iTunes will quit unexpectedly once more than 1 person has connected to make a request. is there a way to limit how many devices can connect at the same time?

I have an iPhone 4S. There are some songs that I purchased through iTunes that are not downloading to my phone. The songs are listed in iTunes under both "Music" and "Purchased." The songs are checked. On my iPhone, under SUMMARY, I have checked "sync only checked songs and videos," and under MUSIC I have checked "entire music library."
The phone and computer are both authorized to the same iTunes account. The weird thing is that, for most of the missing albums, the first song of the purchased album has downloaded, but the rest are not.

I listen to a lot of different types of stuff on my iPhone. One of my favorites has always been audiobooks. Lots of little 5 minute 'songs' that would play in order. It USED to be easy: listen to files in order, then delete them from iTunes as I go along, the next time I charged my phone, boom, all the stuff I was done with was gone. Bookmarking and file management took care of itself. All I had to do was keep my iTunes library neat and orderly.
No more. Now I have to screw around in the phone itself to do anything. This is obtuse and difficult since the larger keyboard and mouse are much easer to use than the tiny touch pad. But, it no longer seems to work.
Is this a feature I can somehow get back or is this part of the new apple scheme of things?
I bought 4 songs from iTunes from my iMac, when I sync all my devices, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini 2 even though I have checked off where it says manage manually
