Applications :: ITunes DJ Selects Audiobooks?
Apr 4, 2009Is there anyway to stop this? The files are classified as audiobooks in the media type and all have the Skip when shuffling enabled.
Kind of makes iTunesDJ useless....

I just purchased an audiobook through the iTunes Store. I'm told its not available in iCloud. Can I still get it to my iphone? Sync-ing doesn't seem to do the trick.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased two audio books from iTunes store and I'm having a problem backing them up. I know I can make a data DVD, but that is not what I want to do, because they are audio files. My main issue is that I want to burn the audiobooks to audio CD, but the quality always comes out very poor. I have been searching around to see if there was a way to make itunes burn to a disc image, but I was out of luck. Basically, I only have CD-RW and DVD+R DL and DVD-R blank discs, so I would need to go out and buy CD-R, if it were my only option. So far, I have tried to burn to CD-RW at both maximum possible and 2x, both of which had poor audio quality, when I tested in VLC, since iTunes would not play any of the tracks straight from the disc. How can I burn audio CDs to CD-RWs from iTunes without the resulting audio having static sound, or is there a script I can type up to have iTunes think a disc image is a blank disc, or should I just buy CD-Rs?

Does anyone know what the trick is to getting past purchases of audiobooks. Everything else is showing up except those.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have many audiobooks that are in iTunes and on my iPod. They're in the correct audiobook locations for itunes and ipod. My problem is that on the ipod, when I go to audiobooks, it's just a list of individual tracks. Many of them have been copied from my CDs so there's many files per audiobook (that's how I like it--so I'd rather not put them in one gigatic file per book.Â
Right now, my audiobooks just show a list, like if I went under | Music > Songs | and it just lists all my songs on the ipod.Is there a way to set up the audiobooks on an ipod so that when I get on my ipod I can go...Â
Audiobooks > Albums > (show list of books) Harry Potter > (shows list of Harry Potter book) Half-Blood Prince > Chapter One  Â
I have ripped an 8-CD audiobook onto my iTunes. I would like to figure out how to take the 215 "tracks", and turn them into a singular audiobook.

Have created a smart playlist for audiobooks that I haven't listened to. However since a restore of my library, most of them are showing up. Is there a way to mark audiobooks as listened to, just like music/tv shows etc?

Audiobooks no longer play on any device that I have: ipods, MacBook, iphone... The first 5 minutes or so play and then the track completely stops. The behaviour is slightly different on different devices. On the MacBook, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then skips on to the next book.
On the iPods, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then just stops. On the iPhone the volume stops after around 5 mins though the track keeps playing forwards. This must be a problem with the iTunes 10.6.3 software?
How to import AudioBooks from Macbook OS 10.4.1 onto an Ipad2?Â
I have many audiobooks which I am currently attempting to have re-loaded via the Apple Support network and have requested that these Audiobooks purchased in good faith between 2008 - 2009 be made available for download on our recently purchased Ipad2 via ITunes. This download procedure has worked very well for the 18 songs purchased in the same period. However, I have followed a discussion on the Apple Support community by TASA posted on the Nov 13 2011 and have made a similar polite request to the Apple Support afficionados, so far with no success. My question is this How can i transfer the Audiobook files which appear as m4b across to the Ipad2. I cannot sync the MacBook because the operating system is a mismatch. Attempting to use a camera connection kit by Apple and using an SD card to copy a single audi file has not worked. What other recourse of action is there?Â
It is all very well suggesting that Audiobooks can only be downloaded once, as has been mentioned by a discussion pundit. However this was not in the Terms and Conditions from 2008, of which I have a copy.

When I download audiobooks, they come in parts, i.e. CD1, CD2, etc. To make life easier, I join them back into ONE file so when I play it on my iPod, it's listed as one song rather than 100. Make sense so far?Â
When I join them, the play back time is off. So if the whole audiobook is 12 hours, but chapter 1 is 45 minutes, the play time for the entire audiobook, that I joined, is 45 minutes. When I play it on the iPod, it will play PAST the 45 minute mark, but I cannot rewind or fastforward because the ticker just stays there. On iTunes, it will not play past the 45 minute mark.Â
I've tried to manually change the time in iTunes but it doesnt change. Does anyone have experience with this/tips to help? I have a lot of audiobooks that are really affected by this.

Recently downloaded audiobooks are not appearing in the 'BOOKS' category, but in the main music library. I have tried dragging and dropping so that they appear there, but to no avail. Have also changed the info so that it reads 'books' or 'audiobooks' but they will not appear in the Books section of my library which makes finding them tricky. I have previously downloaded titles and they have been recognised as Audiobooks and been properly categorized. (These recent titles have been downloaded from Audiogo. )

Most audio books, I either want to listen to only once, or at long intervals. I would like to do the following: Create a playlist to sync to my iphone: The smart playlist has the following criteria:Â
A:Â The genre is AudioBooks.
B:Â The playcount is 0.
C:Â Pick 25 at random
D:Â Include partially played books.Â
The latter is the show stopper. How do I make sure that a book I started to listen to one time is still on the playlist the next time after I sync my phone. I'm willing to have a second playlist of "Books in progress" If it can't be done directly any pointers to an applescript for this?

Can I get audiobooks on iCloud with iCloud Match

iCloud, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
I must have done something to my installation of OS X. When I go to create a new folder, it automatically creates the folder with the name "untitled folder". The problem is, the name isn't selected. Normally, when you create a new folder, you can just type the name immediately. For me, I have to create the new folder, then click on the name to select the text and then type it. Also, when I do go to type in the new name, the text "untitled folder" doesn't disappear. I just type over it.Â

I am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.

I loved the Genius Recommendation Panel on iTunes 9 and found lots of new songs and artists when using itI cannot believe Apple removed it from iTunes 10 and replaced it with a social networking site with the awful title "Ping"
So I replaced iTunes 9 last night, only to find that it wouldn't accept my iTunes library. I managed to reload the songs, but I have lost all my playlists, star ratings, play counts, etc. Its all gone.
Brand new convert to Mac here: After receiving an iPod Touch from my boss when he upgraded to an iPhone, I have fallen in love with the Mac hardware and OS. I just got a new macbook and would like to transfer my iTunes from my old PC laptop. I am also a neophyte to iTunes so forgive me if there is a very simplistic answer to this issue.
The physical music is located on my external drive connected to the PC with the iTunes original music locations pointed to it . My specific question is, if I backup iTunes, restore to the Mac, plug in the external drive to the Mac, will it work seamlessly? I'm not sure if the existing iTunes music locations will re-synch since the music locations on the laptop iTunes are mapped to the "G:" drive. If it won't work that way, what do you recommend as the best way to go about it? I want to make sure I don't waste as much time as when I initially set up my iTunes/iPod touch (simply stuck in "PC" mindset).
I think I found a bug in iTunes, because I can find no other explanation. Every once in a while (like once every three weeks) my iTunes window goes down. By this I mean everytime i click a different playlist, view, category, iTunes store, the window moves down a bit leaving this gap at the top. It randomly comes and goes, and its not really a big deal, but it does get really annoying. Is anyone else getting this? and no, im not just moving the window down
