For two days I've been unable to download music. It keeps asking me to Sign in to view billing information even though I'm already signed in. Then it does it again. And again, and again...
I'm in charge of finding music for a special occasion and this will create big problems for me if I can't get it in time.

I am 4 months into my Mac experience and loving it. I work in a large IT company that used to make PC's but now doesn't and so using Apple is gaining momentum. Being in Marketing and doing lots of presentations, one tool my team and I use extensively is called SnagIt.While it is called a screen capture tool, its real strength is the image manipulation tools are really simple and good. Many times we don't need to use Photoshop so the team uses SnagIt to capture the image, manipulate it like 3d, borders, twisting etc.

But I don't like to use iTunes all the time... there are times when I download a bunch of music and just don't have time to organize it and make sure it's tagged correctly, so I don't wanna add it to my iTunes library just yet...
so I am wondering, is there any other good music players out there that you might know of? I don't need it to go ahead and organize my music, I just need it to be able to open individual tracks or music off a folder and play it. A player with an appealing UI and shuffle mode would be ideal. I tried Vox btw, but it's kinda ugly though.
Just purchased my first mac, iv'e been a pc user for almost 10 yrs and i finally switched to a mac. What programs are good to DL music. On my pc i use to use Lime Wire or Bear Share. Can I use these or does anyone have a better program that is Mac friendly ?

View 3 Replies View Related...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.

Much to my surprise iTunes doesn't find the metadata (for tagging) for a lot of my CDs. I know the data is on discogs and sometimes even on amazon. Is there a way to automatically retrieve the data from those alternative sources. Just like media monkey does? It is really annoying to manually tag all those CDs.

I would like to be able to buy from Amazon video, tv shows or movies and then import then to itunes. Amazon video will keep your purchases online and you can download and view when you want. I have transferred my itunes music on to my external HD. The music is there and that is fine. I then deleted the old itunes folder from my actual HD. I have now wanted to access the music on the external HD, and have attempted to select the new music file location on the external HD via the itunes/preferences/advanced window,selected the new file path and it will just not show in itunes!

If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I'm new here and about to dip my toe into the Apple pond for the first time. Just placed an order for an i Phone and am preparing my music collection to move at least some of it over to i Tunes for use with the new phone. I currently have it on an external HD in one main folder (CD Collection) and have been using WMP up to now. Stored under that main folder are sub-folders with album titles containing the individual song files in .wav format. I tried to import the files into the i Tunes library by going to FILE and clicking on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. I then selected all the album folders and hit enter. It imported them all into one folder. I have around 450 albums. This is not what I had in mind. I had hoped the folder and file organization would have been maintained. Instead I have thousands of music files in one "album."
