Applications :: ITunes Sound Check For All Songs?
Mar 4, 2010I checked the Sound Check box when I went to burn a CD by mistake the other day. Next time I booted up my Mac my iTunes was going through all the songs Sound Checking them, I canceled it about 1/3 through. My question is, has iTunes done anything to a third of my music it didn't finish?

Dec 26, 2010I just started using iTunes as my music database. For that reason I started to rip all my CDs. Much to my surprise iTunes doesn't find the metadata (for tagging) for a lot of my CDs. I know the data is on discogs and sometimes even on amazon. Is there a way to automatically retrieve the data from those alternative sources. Just like media monkey does? It is really annoying to manually tag all those CDs.

Sep 27, 2009I am tired of having to download tv shows and movies and then having to buy external storage to keep my purchases. I would like to be able to buy from Amazon video, tv shows or movies and then import then to itunes. Amazon video will keep your purchases online and you can download and view when you want. Is there a way to import these type of purchase into itunes so can view on apple tv or iphone? If not amazon video, is there another opton that has an online library/storage system and allow downloads to be imported into itunes when needed ?

Nov 11, 2009I get this error message when I try to check for purchases: "Unable to check for available downloads. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. please try again later." This has been going on for months. Upgrading to snow leopard didnt change it. Various iTunes upgrades haven't changed it. What can I do? I'm running iTunes 9.0.2, OS X 10.6.2 on a Unibody Macbook.

Apr 18, 2009my hard drive was wipped clean, and I lost everything. So, I wanted to get all of my TV, Movies and Music back that I bought from iTunes that was not on my iPod. They gave me all of it back. All 872 files. So, now I just had to go to Store-Check for Available Downloads. And I did. Then I entered my password and it said Checking for Downloads... After a while, it came up with an error message saying that it was unable to check for downloads. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again. I checked and both were good so I tried again. It didn't work. Then I tried again and again and still, nothing.
I rebooted my computer, uninstalled iTunes, restarted my router and still nothing. It won't work on my laptop and it also won't work on my Dad's desktop. So I called Apple and they had me do a DNS flush, still no luck. Then after a while, they said it wasn't iTunes so I should call my internet provider (Verizon Fios) They did all of this stuff, change the readings of my router to avoid 2.4 GhZ thing (I don't know what that means) and they also brought me to [URL] and had me optomize my speed and I did that and still no luck. The guy eventually said that it wasn't my router so I should contact Apple. So know I am here. If anyone could help that would be great. Especially if it's solved by Sunday night because I have a 10 hour bus ride on Monday and I would like to have something to watch on the way there.

Dec 20, 2010iTunes check available downloads gets stuff I don't want. How do I get rid of it? Whenever I find this one TV show in the downloads list I right click and delete it but it eventually shows up again. How do I get rid of it?

Feb 28, 2009I have a situation where I've imported a large number of albums but not all from an external NAS (via SMB). My question is, if I import again will it check that my previous imports are present and just skip to the next album or will it re-import the album? I only want to import the albums not present as it will take hours to import whole folder. Can anyone confirm what itunes will do?

May 11, 2012I have an IMac. When I am in mail and type a word incorrect I get an alert sound. I do not get the red dashed line. I have looked all over Preferences. What am I missing? This is annoying. If I do a manual spell check of a document then it still does not underline misspelled words. I tested it in Textedit as well. No red line under the words.

Sep 17, 2008I've been stumped lately as to what in the world is playing a strange sound that i think is a product of Genius. It happens when I:
- Navigate to the iTunes store
- Click on any links in the itunes store, search, account, etc
- when the Genius side bar is out, and tracks change while playing from my Music.
I have gotten it to stop the incessant noise making when tracks change by turning it off and hiding the side bar; but it still makes the noise when i click playlists, my iphone or ipod, other directories, etc.

Oct 30, 2009All my media works well (songs, podcasts, new films), but my collection of old films which I ripped, don't seem to produce any sound. I ripped 2 new films, which produce sound so I am confused why the older films will not. Just installed the new iTunes update this morning.

Sep 11, 2010I've done a few (well a lot) of DVDs now with iDVD using avi files on my hard disk with a view to either giving as presents or watching with the family on TV.
We do not want to hover around my laptop to watch a movie In about 90% of these iDVD created DVDs I get an error message from iDVD that there was a problem during encoding and if we try to watch them throgh the TV/DVD player then the film just stops about 75% of the way through.

Dec 1, 2010I am looking for an alternative to iPhoto for viewing and organizing photos. I need something that allows for tags like iPhoto does and preferably something with a full-screen mode for editing.
My main problem with iPhoto is that it gets bogged down when you have imported thousands of photos. And I hate having to import photos on external drives before I can view them.
I've seen a lot of recommendations for Picasa, but I can't use that 'cause I'm on a PPC.

Feb 19, 2009I'm a freelance journalist and want to start using software that will help me keep track of contacts, projects, outlying opportunities, etc. Daylite gives me damn near everything I want, but I cringe at the $189 price tag. Are there any alternative programs out there that provide the same sort of functionality for less cash? I've played around with the trial version of OmniFocus as well, but I can't figure out any way to have it store contact/client information and link clients to projects...and I really need to be able to do that.
