Feb 6, 2012I can't use iTunes 10 to delete podcasts from my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.0.1) when it is hooked up to my Macbook Air (OS 10.6.8).The edit menu shows the Delete command greyed out, and using the backspace key has no effect. I know I can delete individual podcasts on the iPhone itself by swiping sideways. I don't want to do that - I want to delete multiple podcasts from the iPhone at once using iTunes. This has been possible with previous versions of iTunes and an iPod, for example. Not sure why it's not working with the iPhone 4S. Wonder if I'm missing something obvious?

I know that I need to go to itunes and uncheck all of the songs from the "music" tab under where I see my iphone as a device, but it's still not working. I went on other discussion boards on here and read that I should try to uncheck the box to manually manage music and then try to uncheck them again, but now I have my entire itunes library on my phone, even though I unchecked all of the boxes of music that I don't want.

Mar 30, 2012Strangest thing. I have tried everything to delete a ringtone from my iphone. I have even deleted the source file but the tone still reappears.
I even unselected all the tones from my phone (in iTunes) then synced (so that nothing transfers). But even then that stubborn ringtone still appears!

Aug 27, 2014I transferred a whole heap of music onto iTunes on my Mac from my old PC, and then made a playlist and synced with my iPhone. As I listened, I deleted almost half these songs (there were 170 songs at first) directly from my iPhone by swiping across and pressing delete. My problem now is, I now have more music I want to add to my phone from iTunes, but I don't want the 85 odd songs that I deleted to be synced back onto the phone.
Is there any way I can make the two devices match up so that the songs on my Mac and not on my iPhone will delete from iTunes? I could always go through manually, but that will be tedious and not something I really want to do.

Jun 26, 2014I listen to a lot of different types of stuff on my iPhone. One of my favorites has always been audiobooks. Lots of little 5 minute 'songs' that would play in order. It USED to be easy: listen to files in order, then delete them from iTunes as I go along, the next time I charged my phone, boom, all the stuff I was done with was gone. Bookmarking and file management took care of itself. All I had to do was keep my iTunes library neat and orderly.
No more. Now I have to screw around in the phone itself to do anything. This is obtuse and difficult since the larger keyboard and mouse are much easer to use than the tiny touch pad. But, it no longer seems to work.
Is this a feature I can somehow get back or is this part of the new apple scheme of things?

Nov 16, 2009Basically somehow my iTunes got jacked up.. just the music part of it.. Anyway, they are all songs from my CDs or mp3's, but just as a failsafe, I would like to backup my entire iTunes library to my external hdd.
I would then like to delete all the songs from my iTunes, and from my iPhone. *edit* figure'd out how to remove all the songs from my iphone.. just unchecked all songs and sync'd.. now I just need to backup itunes and delete everything from it, then reput what I want back into itunes and resync.. sweet
After which, I would like to rebuild my iTunes library using my mp3's and CD's and basically start from scratch.. so that this time around I can properly name songs/albums/artwork/etc
Then I want to take this new iTunes library, and fill my iPhone back up with my new Library in Itunes..
so basically I just want to backup my itunes just incase for some reason I cannot find a particular CD or mp3 in my collection.
Just for the record, I am using a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.2, and I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB running the latest 3.1.2 firmware (jailbroken using blackra1n rc3)

Do the accounts migrate automatically or do I need to add them as new iCloud accounts rather than MobileMe ones?Also I've migrated one family account already - was going to add it to the iPhone but choosing iCloud account appeared to make it want to use that for Photostream etc by default and it wasn't clerar i could stop it - it is not the account I would want to use.
Presumably I can actually have 5 iCloud accounts in iOS mail and just choose one as the default for app/Photo cloud syncing?Wasted too much time on this - think I must have some OCD as I'm making copies of copies of copies of things just in case it all goes wrong.

For now, I use iCloud, define to sync mail and connected with same account on all my mac and iPhone ... nothing happened! I have three accounts out of 13 who appear!!! But WHY?
I red somewhere that the account information (password) must be saved in keychain ... ok ... but how do I change that for all account? I tried to remove one and recreate ... no success ... doesn't appear.

May 18, 2012I have my mobile me email account but I also have 2 business email accounts that are linked to my Mac as well as my iPhone 4s. BUT the iCloud mobile me email is ok but my 2 business emails do not mirror at all. iPhone and Mac are completely separate.
I have tried deleting the business emails from my phone then in 'info' in iTunes when the phone is connected I have tried syncing email accounts as well as 'replace mail accounts' in the 'advanced' section.
When I do this it loads the messages from the accounts as unread emails. However on my mac each account has 27 emails in each account. When the phone syncs the accounts 1 email has 123 messages and the other 61.
Deleting messages from Mac or iPhone makes no difference in mirroring. Is there any way to get my 2 business accounts to mirror on both devices. As you can understand it is very frustrating having differing messages on both devices.
