I woke up and tried to update my iphone and my ipad and both are telling me this. I then went to iforgot and reset my password and it still is saying the same thing. Is there a step I forgot? I have no idea what triggered this.

I just noticed that on my login screen, "Guest" appears even though it is disabled. I have not tried to run it, but when I do click on it I get the message that the computer will reboot into the "Guest" mode. I stopped at that point. This can't be normal.

About 2 weeks ago, I was contacted by Discover that my account had apparently been breached. Someone had charged over $100.00 worth of stuff to iTunes.
I went into itunes, changed my password, changed to Mastercard, and was able to purchase things for a couple of days. Now I get the message that my id has been disabled.Â
I use some of my apps in my work, and I can't update them. I can't buy music. I can't do ANYTHING. I am disabled and try to do some work from home. I need these apps working. Â

I was testing the pwpolicy on a newly upgraded Yosemite. After rebooting, I found my local admin account was disabled.
I ran the pwpolicy on a non-server version of Yosemite and the only support article I could find is OS X Server (Yosemite): Global policies can lock out Admin accounts - Apple Support. I tried to follow the steps in the article to clear the account policies for local admin, but once I entered "/usr/bin/pwpolicy -n /Local/Default clearaccountpolicies", the system seemed hanging there and the local admin account was still disable.
Actually once I used launchctl to load the com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist, the system started to show signs not working properly, such as some basic commands like ps, dscl, man, nano, or even ls stopping to bring up any results. However, "launchctl list" showed the daemon was launched with a number of 78.Â
I tried to create new admin user account by rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone, but the new admin account was disabled possibly immediately after birth because of the global policy settings.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a little annoyed when doing CMD+SPACE and seeing the list of lanaguages being switched between.So I did the normal thing I did on SNow Leopard/ Leopaard/ etc, and disabled the switch in Keyboard preferences.Even though they are both switched off, the langauges still come up when I choose cmd+space.

Wi-fi was working perfectly all they way till I ran the latest update 10.7.4. Â
Now when I do a cold shut down, the wi-fi on the top right hand corner is blank. Cannot do anything to turn it back on. I always try to turn on, but fail. Â
Basically, it comes down to restarting the computer and praying that the wi-fi signal comes back on. Sometimes, I have to do a cold restart and it seems I'm playing a gambling game. Maybe after 3-4 times the wi-fi signal will become normal again. Â
This has been happening for about a month. Yes, I'm just getting around to complaining. I did not do time machine, so I cannot go back before this happend. Either, I do a whole another system install or there is a patch I could get. Â
I have a late 2008 Aluminium Unibody MacBook (5,1) and installed 10.7.3 via software update without problems. But when I turned the machine on next morning, Wi-Fi was disabled and could not be activated via the menu bar control or network pref pane. After a couple of reboots--two, if I remember correctly--the MacBook booted up with Wi-Fi active and connected (I use a Fritz!Box 7390 WLAN router with both 2,4 and 5 GHz networks, connecting via 5 GHz by default).Â

So as the title says when I boot up my iMac, on occasion, it seems to have the "Updating" Status bar, then the mac boots normally, then the sound is disabled. As I said though this dose not happed all the time but when it dose the only way to fix it is by rebooting the iMac once again. I disabled local snapshots because they were using up 43GB of hard disk space that I needed for other things.I used this command in terminal: sudo tmutil disablelocal..Instead of having the local snapshots be deleted, they are somehow littering my hard drive still.I have searched my drive, but still can't find them. Is there any way I can reclaim this hard disk space?I also tried running a repair in disk utility and re-indexing Macintosh HD.

I bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

I end up with an Admin account and there is no way to convert this account into a Standard account. Facts: 10.7.4 - clean install on a current iMac i5 Freshly created account uses name of a deleted older account (my name)Repaired permissions several times (disk utility and "resetpassword utility" via terminal and safe boot)The older account had been relocated to a external disc for security reasons. Working on a 2011 Macbook Pro with 10.7.3.I"ve setup many other macs with the same build and they all have created the mobile account when logging in for the first time, but this one will not allow the mobile account to get created.I'm connected to the line that gives me LAN access. I can log in with my own credencials and that works fine.I suspect it's the way the AD account is setup on the server but I'm not an admin for that. The same account sets up fine on a Windows box. Once I log in for the first time, it goes directly to the desktop. Basicly a local account but no user directory is created. With Fast User Switching turned on I see that it's showing someone elses name there, not the user that I logged in with. i.e. It should show 'joe jones' but it's showing 'fred smith'
Can't get screen grabs because there is no access. Can't show the FInder drives for the same reason, even if I go make the user an admin from a local admin account.I've seen some fixes in the forums but nothing works. I could just give in and create a local account an leave it at that, but that is not a fix
