My daughter downloaded some things from the web and I was left with three icons on my desktop that will not go away. They are titled Panda 3D Runtime. When I try to dispose of them in the trashcan the trashcan refuses to accept them. When I look for more information on Panda 3D Runtime the gear in more info and preview just keep moving.
View 1 RepliesI've got at&t dsl and my old 2wire gateway went toes up. My new one (2Wire 2701 HG-B) came in the mail while I was at work and so my wife set it up. I'm not sure what she did but now I have a '2Wire DSL Setup Tool' icon on my desktop that I can't get rid of. It's one of those that looks like a white hard disk icon.
If I click on it a window comes up that says 2Wire Setup Tool and has the little Applications icon in it. If I click that then it warns me that it is an application downloaded off the Internet. It gives me 'go to web page', 'cancel', and 'open' options. If I click open then it just runs the tool, opens Safari and tells me everything is OK.
I've tried dragging the icon to the trash to eject but each time I start my MBP it shows up again with the same warning.
My 'show hard disks' option in Finder is unchecked.
I've gone into Applications and tried to rectify the problem there to no avail.
My Internet works fine, I'm just tired of this tool coming up every time I start my computer and giving me that warning about opening it.
I'm required to use a remote management program, by my company, every time I want to remotely login into my business computer. What happens is that it downloads this file as a launcher in order to start my session. If I need to start a session 10 times a day....well you know what happens...I end up with 10 files on my desktop, which in turn creates clutter.
create a basic automator script that runs every night and deletes all of these files with the addendum at the end? For example
file.dmg
file(1).dmg
file(2).dmg
file(3).dmg
change app icon?

re 'find my iPhone' app.The app works well to and from my iMac and iPhone4 and my newiPad.I have icons on home screens on iPhone and iPad named ' Find iPhone' and they work.On the iMac i can only find this icon via iCloud screen. If I try to move it, it creates a copy, and if I try to trash it, it ejects the disk, and I play the game enough that I don't want to have to be getting it out and in and out and in all the time, especially where I currently have my computer set up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 24inch aluminum iMac running the latest versions of Snow leopard. It's a little over 2 years old. I can turn my computer on and all is fine, I can keep it running for hours on end and nothing is a problem. However, the moment I turn it off or perform a restart I get the flashing folder icon? It takes about 2 hours before I can boot the computer up again.
I've tried the following:Resetting PRAM and VRAM
Resetting the start up disk information through system preferences
Pulling an individual RAM module, booting up then trying the same with other RAM module (to check to see whether I have some dodgy RAM)
At first I thought it must be the hard drive, but why can I run my computer with no problems at all. I had it running for 2 days, and not a problem! But, the minute I turn it off, that's it, you can forget booting it up for at least another hour.
There is no CD icon on my desktop and it doesn't eject.

Five days ago, when my iMac woke from sleep, I noticed an "erratic" image across the sign-in screen. I did a hard shut down and when I re-booted, the screen froze at the apple icon. I have a new MBP. I was trying to transfer stuff from my iMac to the new MBP using a thunderbolt cable and pressing down the 'T' key while restarting my iMac.
Long story short, there was not enough room on my MBP so I just continued on without transferring anything. Disconnected the thunderbolt and my iMac is still on a white screen with a floating thunderbolt. How do I proceed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMainly for the idea to use the monitor as a external monitor. This is what I need. I basically want the magic mouse to automatically connect to the macbook pro when I plug the MacBook into the iMac as an external display. Obviously then I need it to disconnect from the iMac (because apparently you can only pair with one thing w/ bluetooth). I realize you can go thru the tedious steps of disconnecting from the iMac and then reconnecting to the MacBook every time, but its a pain, and honestly I can't figure out how to reconnect to the iMac if the mouse is disconnected (ie I can't move the mouse to the bluetooth icon on the iMac if it's disconnected, I hope that makes sense).
