Sep 3, 2014how do I retrieve address book icon. I have a mac OSX10.5.8. I accidentally dragged it from the dock to the desktop and it disappeared.

Jan 6, 2010I synced my Nokia 6300 with Address Book and all about 450 contacts were transferred successfully. I used the iSync. In the meantime, I added some 50 more contacts to my cell phone Contacts and wanted to sync them with address book as well. So, I deleted all the existing 450 contacts from the Address Book on my Mac, hoping the next time I sync cellphone with computer, only the new 50 contacts will be transferred to Address Book. Here is what I ended up with: Address Book with only 50 new contacts and CELL PHONE with only 50 SAME contacts! All of the previous 450 contacts just disappeared from my cell phone! Just like that! I was wondering if there is any chance I can retrieve my contacts, it does not matter where to...either cell phone or Address Book on my Mac. Btw, I am using Leopard 10.5.8 and I have searched all over the web, everybody is mentioning some AddressBook.data.previous file but I cannot find it anywhere! I even created Automator ShowAllFiles Finder Plug in, the Addressbook.data.pevious just is not there. Is there any hope for my contacts or should I try to do something?

Mar 8, 2008I am running Mac OS X Tiger. A friend wants me to retrieve all of the data from an Address Book Backup sent her on a CD from abroad. Nothing I have done works!
The size of the Backup is 5.6MB.
I have created a new account for the purpose. With Address Book (AB) open, File > Revert to address book backup gave only 2 card entries, one being the User and the other the Apple Mac welcome card.

Apr 12, 2012I have recently updated to iCloud - after trying for months and months to clear problems and more problems with my last year update to Lion..After my recent update to iCloud, several of my groups in the Address Book were duplicated. In the iPhone and iPad I cannot find any editing option for groups. But also in the computer, when I highlight the group and go to the Edit menu the option for deleting a group is gray and cannot be applied.Â

Jun 30, 2012When I open address book on my mac, all of my contacts are on iCloud. When I change a photo for one of my contacts and add an effect to it, the effect lasts for about three seconds and goes back to the original. I'm assuming that a sync with iCloud is occurring and the image modifications are lost since when I turn my wifi off, the effects remain. However, when I turn my wifi back on, the effects disappear and I am left with the orginal. I tried running the app in 32-bit mode with no such luck.

Feb 5, 2012I have been using Lion for many months with few issues. But the Address Book application on my iMac started acting up two days ago and now will not open at all. BTW, I use iCloud extensively to sync the iMac, an iBook, an iPad and and iPhone. The Address Book app still works fine on the other three, just not the iMac.
