IMac :: There Are Green Dots All Over The Screen?
Jun 6, 2009The other week I got on my iMac and saw that there were green and purple dots all over my screen.
I have no idea what they are from or how to get rid of them.

Sep 3, 2010I have this issue since a year and never had seen it around on mac forums. So when I play a movie or even grabbing a window around the screen these tiny green-blue dots appear and disappear randomly, sometimes they line up vertically.
The smaller is the movie size playing in quicktime (even in youtube) the bigger are the dots. The good thing is I see them while working with pictures in photoshop, but they don't affect the picture quality when I save them in jpg or other formats.

Jul 23, 2008I see red dots all over my screen! What it is happening!? What I can observe is that it happens where there are dark colors. I see them at pictures in Facebook, I see it in iTunes.

Mar 15, 2010I own a 17" g5 imac and today I was just browsing on Firefox and all of a sudden the screen became checkered with thin pink and white lines. It is most noticeable on the menu bar and anything that is grey or white in color. It is not checkered on the blue background behind my desktop photo. I have an external monitor plugged in as well and the same thing is happening to that monitor.
I have a powerPC imac G5
OSX 10.5.8
1.5GB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 9600

Haven't reformatted it yet. Hope there is a better solution. Purchased it used about a year ago. No warranty.
IMac (Intel) :: Had Green Colors During Two Boots Now Screen Won't Power On?
Jun 24, 2014Suddenly yesterday when I powered mi iMac I had some horizontal green bars on the startup screen then it powered normally. But it happened two times, now every time I power on my iMac the screen stay black, and i can use my computer, everything else is working normally (i still can use Alfred to turn off my computer).
I already tried resetting the Command+Option+P+R, it didn't work. Also the Safe mode.
I have a mid-2011 27' iMac. EMC 2429.
IMac (Intel) :: Multiple Daily Lockup / Green Squares On Screen
Jun 20, 2014New iMac at first of year has always locked up with green squares (1/4") randomly on the open window. I have to do a hard boot to unlock the screen. This may happen 5 or 6 times a day but I'm finding no pattern. It happens in any software, mail, internet browser, extra programs and only using what I need at the moment, including mail and internet, hasn't worked. I've run disk utility - repair disk and repair permissions multiple times to no avail. I've reinstalled the OS Mavericks and Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop & Premiere Pro), no improvement.
I purchased a high-end iMac specifically to handle high-demand video editing needs. But this happens when checking email or browsing the internet too. Here's a listing of the system from a "Panic (system crashes) log" from the "Activity Report."

IMac (Intel) :: When Powered On LED Diagnosis Lights Are All Lit Green / But All Have Is A White Screen
Jun 27, 2014On my mid 2007 Aluminum 24" Intel Imac shows nothing but a white screen when powered on even though according to the diagnostic LED lights which are all powered on and green the logic board, video card, and everything else are speaking back and forth to each other perfectly fine. Does this mean the LED screen is bad or (from what I've read) is it a possibility the hard drive is bad? I know the optical drive is bad and will not spit out any discs. The #1 reinstallation disc for the OS is stuck inside right now. Before I order a new screen, inverter, and optical drive I figured I should ask in here to see if it is just bad hard drive or something else. Wouldn't the LED diagnostic lights tell me if the hard drive was bad?

This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3). MacBook Pro :: Gray Dots On LCD Screen - Rapidly Increasing
Dec 2, 2009I have a Macbook Pro 2.2 Santa Rosa Rev. D model. Recently I have discovered gray dots appearing along the top of my screen.
A few at first, but masses growing are growing rapidly. In the past 3 weeks the problem has started to spread to both my right and left edges as well. Under different viewing angles the dots sort of dissapear. The dots are not uniform in size or pattern.
I have a slight feeling that this has to do with my NVIDIA 8600GT graphic card.
I read tonight that that specific card was reported faulty and thousands have had problems and have had to get their logic boards replaced.
I also read that Apple extended their warranty for this specific reason.
Anyways, the dots are increasing and it's worrying me as I am not sure if this will be covered or not.
MacBook Pro :: Blue Screen With Spiral Activity Dots - Not Boot
Sep 5, 2010I have a 2009 2.53ghz 8gb 500gb 7200 macbook pro, running latest version of snow lep 10.6.4. It's been running fine since I got it last august, now today I started it and I get the blue screen that seems to refresh itself with a slight flicker every 10 seconds with a new blue screen with the spiraling activity dots. I tried booting from a disc, and it nothing changed. I tried booting in safe mode and it the bar would fill up, then it goes right back to bluescreen. I don't have a screwdriver on me, so I can't take the battery out.

Sep 13, 2009I just bought my macbook pro 13 inch about a 40 days ago and I have just noticed two small black dots on the on the bottom of the screen near the left side of my dock. I have done some research and they seem to be "dead pixels" They're really small but for the price I payed i didnt expect any problems. What are some suggestions to get rid of them or if i should contact tech support? Here are two pictures of the dots: They kinda change colour when i move my head around.. Not sure if theyre dead pixels or not.

Oct 6, 2008Our eMac seems to be developing a green tint in the bottom right hand corner of its screen. I've done some quick searching online and it seems that a few people have suggested a cold boot so it runs the degaussing process on a startup.
I left the eMac off for about an hour, unplugged. It did the degauss once it was plugged back in and "seems" to have removed nearly all of the green tint.
There are a few threads on various forums when I search on Google about this issue but they have no conclusive reasons why this is happening.
Could my eMac be developing a fault at all? I'm not too sure if anything magnetic has been placed on our table near the eMac so this may be the reason.

Mar 29, 2012I have iMac 27 and screen problem on start up i have blue vertical lines, when it start i have a lot of blue dots and nothing else. when I connect outside monitor its showing the same.
Just installed lion and still the same problem when it starts blue dots, when startup in safe mode loads of blue lines and dots on the screen.

Sep 1, 2010Just got a refurbished 27" Imac I5 with the Radeon 4850 yesterday.This happened twice yesterday, so today, when I powered on I had my blackberry ready to record.As you can see theres a large green band (yesterday it was accompanied with a red one) that spans the vertical aspect of the screen. I'm sure it's an upgrade issue, when I go back to our clone from last week, it doesn't do that! We use QT Pro 7.66. on a MacBook Pro (about 1 1/2 years old) - always perfect results, but now this? Jun 19, 2014my macbook pro screen has two thin green lines running down the screen from top to bottom. i have run the apple hardware test and it has detected an error. unfortunately i am in a remote village for the next two months and unable to get my macbook to a repair centre. What the thin green lines indicate?, whether the error on the hard drive and the green lines are connected or something different? the lap top seems to be working fine however im concerned that as i cant get to a repair place for the next 2 months whether continued use will damage the computer further?
