IMac (Intel) :: Wireless Printer Is Not Communicating?

Sep 3, 2014

My Mac and HP wireless printer have stopped communicating. My Mac says the printer is not connected to the network but the printer says it is. I am running 10.9.4 on my Mac. They worked fine for 3 years then they just stopped. I have reset everything on the printer and gone through all the wireless checks on my Mac. The only thing I have seen is one screen said the address was wrong, but that does not make sense since they work in the same network.

Hardware :: Unable To Print From Wireless Network / Problem In Communicating With Printer

Jan 17, 2010

I'm trying to get used my first iMac, and I'm having a bit of trouble printing from my wireless network. I have an HP Officejet 6210 that I have been using for the last couple of years with my Windows computer. I'm trying to print off of that through my network, but I keep getting this error

"There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again."

I have printer sharing turned on through my Windows computer since the printer is connected directly through my windows computer. My other Windows computer that I have at the house can print through the network, but I'm having problems doing so with my iMac. I have the right driver selected through system preferences/print & fax, but it just won't print.

Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong, or is there something I'm missing?

Hardware :: When Print I'll Get An Error "There Is A Problem Communicating With The Printer?

Jan 29, 2009

I have a HP Officejet 6210 plugged in to my Windows machine, and set for sharing. My other Windows machine can print to the networked printer, but my iMac cannot.I have the latest driver available on my iMac for my printer and I can "find" the printer, but when I print I'll get an error "There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again."

When connected directly to the iMac it will print, and my Windows computer can see the printer, but I cannot select the printer to use.I spoke with Apple Support and they couldn't help me out. They said my best bet was to purchase the Airport Express. I don't want to go out and spend 100.00 for the airport express...there has to be something else.

OS X Mavericks :: IMac 10.9.3 Won't Find Wireless Printer

Jun 24, 2014

I have a brand new iMac. But I can't print because it won't find my HP photosmart wireless printer (B110 series) My old Macbook pro 10.6.8 has no problem. I've tried switching on and off etc all to no avail. When I click to add a printer, nothing is found. The only thing that I've not tried is connecting with an ethernet cable, but I shouldn't have to. The printer is next to the computer.

OS X Mavericks :: Wireless Printer Not Recognized By IMac

Jun 3, 2014

Suddenly, my HP Photosmart 7525 isn't recognized by my (wife's) iMac.  Ny iMac prints to it wirelessly just fine.  I downloaded the printer driver (several time), loaded it and the iMac reverted to the HP Utility to finalized the process.  The utility couldn't recognized the "device" to finish off the driver.  Same thing when I loaded the Photosmart 6525 (my printer).  The iMac apparently isn't loading the drivers.  It worked fine a day or two ago, now, nada.  WiFi works fine thru the AirPort/TimeCapsule module/router.  The printer wifi works with other computers.

I have OSX 10.6 installed and I currently have my broadband connected by Ethernet connection. Airport seems to connect to my wireless router even though this is plugged in. HPSETUP appears as a device in the WI-FI drop down, however to print I need to select this from the dropdown. Can my iMac's wifi connect to this by default rather than my broadband connection?

OS X :: Unable To Install Wireless Printer / Already Have A Similar Printer Set Up

Jan 15, 2010

I got a new HP wireless printer, and the mac suggested setting it up with the USB first, and then disconnecting once it was configured. I did all that. The mac asked to choose a wireless network for the printer, I did. Then the set up CD asked me to add a printer to the qeue from system preferences from the menu- when I clicked my printer was already added. None the less I followed the direction, and then got the message "You already have a similar printer set up, would you like to add this too?" I clicked YES, and then continue.

When I clicked on continue, the set up cd (or mac) told me that I had NOT set up a printer from the Queue (sorry about spelling), even though I had. So when I clicked continue, it told me the printer was not recognized in the wireless network, and now I'm stuck with plugging it in the usb. Please I know this sounds confusing, but why is this happening and what do I do to get the mac to recognize my printer? Apparently its not.My wireless signal is fine, I checked.

Hardware :: Non Wireless Printer For Wireless Printing?

Apr 13, 2010

My Brother HL-3040CN printer only has an ethernet connector for network printing (as well as a usb port). If I wish to print wirelessly is there an adaptor or a wireless hub that I can plug it into with the cable?

I'm asking this because I've read the iPad doesn't have any means of connecting it to a printer with a cable. I won't buy an iPad now but maybe next year.

EDIT: Would an Airport Express do the job?

IMac (Intel) :: Software For Printer Installed Incorrectly

Jun 24, 2014

I have moved an Early 2008 iMac with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor and OS X version 10.9.3 to a summer home where I have an HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one Printer. I have attempted to load the driver for this printer using System Preferences/ Printers and faxes. When I select the + I find my psc 2400 printer listed when I select add I get the message: Some of the software for the printer is missing. You may have to reinstall the software to be able to successfully print. There is the option to continue. Selecting this button I get the message: The software for the printer was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the software from the manufacturer. This printer was purchased when I had a Mac with a power PC chip and OS X version 10.4.1 which can not be loaded into the current computer. Is there a way to load the driver software that seems to be missing?

Hardware :: Networking - AEBS2 Communicating With AEBS1

Feb 26, 2009

I currently have two AEBS at my home. AEBS1 is connected to my cable modem and is my wireless AP in 5 ghz N-Mode. AEBS2 is about 30 feet away from it connected to my 360, AppleTV, and DVR. It is set to extended AEBS1 wireless signal, so no ethernet cable is ran between the two AEBSs. I have went into the settings and disabled "Allow Wireless clients" so basically AEBS2 is just transmitting the data from the devices connected to it to AEBS1 This works great and all but I have noticed that my transfer speeds between my MacBook and MBA are EXTREMELY SLOW. It is roughly around .5 megs every 5 seconds or so. I don't think this is normal speeds.

I have no other devices connected to my wireless so have ruled out that as a problem. My question is would this be caused by AEBS2 communicating with AEBS1 if someone is playing 360 or something? Would it be a better setup to completely disable the wireless features on AEBS2 and just run a long ethernet cable between the two AEBS? Would I notice a speed increase then? My second question is that I have connected a cheap g router to one of the ports on AEBS1 so that our iPhones can have wireless. I disabled DHCP on the router. Would this setup in essence allow the Remote.app on the iPhone to control my Macs and Apple TV that are on the N - Network?
