Sep 4, 2014Some time today, my iMac started displaying some type of outline in the background. I bought it in December, and I've never had any issues with it until today.What the outline is? I heard it might be dead pixels, but I honestly have no clue. I just checked the screen again and it's normal now.

I use it to put some music in the morning while I get ready for work.

Apr 9, 2012I have an intel imac - can't tell you much about the details as I can't get any info out of it. I installed snow leopard about a year ago - no issue since then other than occassionally the screen goes black but nothing major.Yesterday, I backed up to my usual passport backup and then today, it froze. I couldn't turn it off or restart at all so resorted to the power button. Since then, I can turn it on, it goes to the grey screen (no blue screen) and I get the apple logo and the spinning clock/wheel. For hours and hours....So, I tried one of the apple support pages and worked through - peripherals, safe boot, NVRAM, PRAM, tried to reboot with mac osx disc (the original not snow leopard) - nothing. Absolutely nothing changes - same old grey screen, apple logo and spinning clock/wheel.

Jun 22, 2009I have the latest versions of FF (3.5) and Safari, so it�s not a browser issue (at least i don�t THINK it is). Also, this problem started before i updated to these versions. I noticed 2-3 months ago that in websites such as YouTube, and several others, if there�s two lines of words below a thumbnail, the 2nd line of words is half-hidden, as if one could scroll down to see them. But of course there =is= nothing to scroll down *to*. IN addition, on some sites, words get superimposed on top of other words. I�ve tried doing some google research on this topic (including eliminating duplicate fonts), and have come up empty.

Mar 23, 2010this happened a few weeks ago when i installed an update. i tried to fix the problem by changing the default serif and sans serif fonts, but it didn't work. does anyone know what's up with this? here are some screen shots. as you can see, i did a search for the word "boogie" (first word that popped in my head) and the search results SHOW the word boogie but nothing else.
i just used safari these past few weeks, but i should probably fix this problem.

C: 100
M: 70
Y: 0
K: 40
I got the breakup from a pantone process guide booklet, but the color onscreen looks nothing like the printed swatch (see attached screenshot).
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a known problem with an iMac bought early 2008?

Jun 11, 2012How many Mac users have suffered from the problem of small coloured squares appearing at random on the iMac desktop? They can be wiped by dragging a window over them but they will eventually reappear. I have discovered at least three other threads where this issue has been discussed but our local Apple store is claiming that Apple haven't declared it as a legacy fault. It would be interesting to hear how others have been treated when presenting Apple with this fault. At first they thought it was the GPU but they now think that it is either the logic board OR the logic board AND the GPU together!! Being charged between £480 and £650 to repair a machine that is less than 18 months old is a bit much from a company that continually boasts about the quality of its products.

Oct 30, 2007Has anyone else had their clock freeze up on them in Leopard? It's only happened twice, and I'm not sure what triggered it (my guess would be coming back from a screensaver or from sleep) but the clock will be stuck on a certain time, if I mouseover it, I get the beachball. All other aspects of the OS and programs run fine while this is happening. I noticed iCal was still giving the date of the frozen time the clock was display when closed, but displayed the right date when i opened iCal.
