My iMac mid 2011 does not read the SD Card. In 'System Info' the info abou card reading device tells: 'This computer does not have integrated Apple card reading devices' (something like that, my OS is in Russian).
Worked great a couple of weeks ago, now I have that issue. Is there a way to fix that without changing my iMac's elements?
As the title says, I have a card reader that works great with a CF card, but the MBP won't recognize an SD card. This is a new problem for me. I also have an express card adapter for SD that won't read the card, either. I have tried 4 different SD cards, and these exact cards have worked for me in the recent past (within the past 2 months). They work fine in the camera. I also tried connecting the camera via usb, which was unsuccessful. I tried blowing air on the cards and the reader. I cannot get the cards to be read on my wife's macbook. This makes no sense to me, as it worked fine the last time I tried. I find it hard to believe that all cards are corrupt, or the cable is the problem because it reads the CF card.
I haven't installed any new software in the last 3 months. About 2 weeks ago the iMac shut down on me out of nowhere. I put my hand on the top-rear and it was really really hot. I left it for an hour and tried to start it up again. A progress bar showed underneith the apple logo at boot up. When it got to about 15% it shut the computer off again. It did this over and over. I restored from a Time Machine back-up and it worked. I started monitoring the temperatures inside and it seems my graphics card (the AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB) runs constantly around 80 degrees C. That's hot. I'm not doing anything besides browsing and listening to iTunes so I don't know what could be stressing the GC. Nothing is out of the ordinary in the Activity Monitor.Â
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7), i5 3.1 ghz, 1gb AMD 6970m
I was just wondering if there is working driver out there for mac that would let my iMac read SDHC cards from the card reader i use now,, or would i have to buy a SDHC compatible card reader?
Tried zapping PRAM and resetting SMC. 3 different cards, 3 different readers with same non-read. Same readers are OK with SD. All 3 readers with all 3 cards read ok on PC. 1 out of 10 times Disk Util sees it, but can't repair. Tried to reformat with Disk Util - 'can't write last block'.
Nothing appears on the desktop, and the DVD doesn't play (this is the second DVD I've tried). The drive works to download software though. These are commercial DVDs from Lovefilm in the UK - there are bound to be some scratches - does this mean I can only play new DVDs?Â
Also, if I click Finder to eject the DVD, the command is light gray, meaning the IMAC has not actually registered that there's a DVD in the drive, so I have to log off and on again for the DVD icon to appear on the desktop, at which point I can eject it. However, if I click it, it doesn't play. I'd really like to play films if I can.Â
I don't know what operating system I have, except that it's MAC OS X. I only just got it new two days ago.
Just installed one of the original airport cards in this machine, and though all indications are that it is working correctly, it doesn't see the USR wireless router sitting 10 feet from it. No networks show up in the dropdown list, and manually adding does nothing. Encryption is a simple MAC filter (this card has already been added), and SSID is broadcast. Did I get a bad card? System profiler seems to think it's fine.
It's an original airport card. Computer's a G3 400 Mhz iMac. A G3 300 Mhz iBook with original airport card is having no troubles. Firmware of Airport card is 9.52 Firware of router is up to date. OSX 10.3.9
All help greatly appreciated; this is my moms little computer, and we're trying to rearrange and loose some wires.
I have a 2010 13" MBP, and have just realised that I'm unable to read my Micro SD card when I pop it into a SD card adaptor and attempt to read via the inbuilt SD card slot. It works fine on my XP netbook though.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Is it normal? Is there any way around it?
On my iPhone and iPad mail app, which is sourcing from my Gmail, 'read' mail is changed to read mail (from unread) status on across iPad and iPhone mail application platforms. But not for IMac using Lion.
This is a rather bizarre issue and I will try to explain the best I can. First off, I did a search, and found nothing recent that could help me with this issue.
Here are my specs: Uni-body Macbook Pro (late 2008) 15"-Snow Leopard I have checked for all updates, and am up to date on all things.
there my mac for some time has not been able to play dvds. It will attempt to read them, but then just spit it out after some time, if I try a bunch of times 6-8, I can sometimes get it to work, however, this rarely does.
I try to connect my soundcard motu 896 MK3 to the firewire plug and my computer doesn't recognize it. When i check on the apple menu/about this mac/more info/firewire it says that it can't figure out what hardware is connected. If i plugg another device through the same firewire plugg then it works.
I am having finder freeze all the time.I am using Lion and am new to Mac in general.I try to force quit and relaunch but it will hang the system forcing me to power it down.
I need to purchase a replacement LCD for my iMac 21.5" I have found cheaper LCDs for the the 2009 and 2010 iMacs. I was wondering if they will work on my 2011 model. The lcd numbers are the same exept for the () numbers. The 2009 lcd number is LM215WF3 (SL) (A1). The lcd on my mac is LM215WF3 (SD) (C2). Will any 21.5" work?
2.66 Intel iMac; 10.6.3 G4 Mini; 10.4.11 UDF-formatted CD
A friend gave me a CD of photos to look at. It mounted on the iMac desktop but was blank, although it had zero space available. I ran Disk Utility. It reported that the CD needed to be repaired. I then inserted it into my ancient Mini and the photos showed up, no problem.
the external SuperDrive on my iMAC does not read some of my music CDs. While the majority runs without any problems, quite a few cannot be read, although they work without any problems on my HiFi and on other CD Drives. All Software is up to date and the Drive is just a few months old.
All dates that are used on my MacBook Pro version 10.6.8 read 2011. All days of the week are correct and all number days are also correct. The small calendar in date & time says that the date is April 12, 2012 but the small box above that where you can choose to manually set the date reads 2011.
Info: MacBook (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
My iMac desktop will not read music CD's with its superdrive. It will burn CD's. Is this a software problem? It is an iMac 8,1 with original superdrive. I have tried working with permissions and hard drive repair.Â
I'm trying to turn on the excel functionality where I can see shortcuts when I hover over a button e.g. the bold button i would expect to see something like this "bold cmd+B". I have tried searching communities but I could find the answer. I found the answer for windows but not for mac. Below you can see a screen print to illustrate the issue. Excel only shows "bold" when I hover over the bold button and not "bold cmd+b". Im using excel 2011.Â
