How can I view mail messages in a smaller window? when I open a message it takes up the whole screen of the iMac. It is also very small writing. I tried clicking on the green button. This works on my mac book pro but not on my iMac. When I try zoom to make the text bigger it does not wrap around.

In previous versions of Mail, a copy was saved encrypted with my private key as well as the recipient's public, so that I could view and search older sent messages. After updating to some newer certificates, this feature seems to no longer work. Â
Recipients have no trouble reading the message, and as a workaround, I can BCC a copy to myself at a different account (which uses different S/MIME encryption and identity certificates from the sending account).Â
I have tried removing the older certificates and verifying the certificate preferences in the Keychain, all to no avail...

I have some people send text messages to my email, and until recently I could read them fine. Now they started showing up blank. When I view the messages on a windows machine I see a .txt attatchment that I can open, that has the message. Why am i unable to see that in Mail?

Since upgrading to Lion, whenever I open a message with the same header and sender as a previous one, it puts them all together in a single window. How can I get Mail to only show the latest in the window when I select the message? I receive daily alerts from various services, and I don't want to scroll through them to just see the one message.

I've just tried to mess around with some stuff in iTunes so i can sync my iPhone on both of my Macs. I did it all as instructed but when I opened the window was huge, and I can't make it any smaller. It's like a copy of my iTunes on my 24" iMac.
I tried deleting everything iTunes related and reinstalling but still the same.
Anyone got any solutions as to how to have a COMPLETELY clean version of itunes, or how to make the window smaller?

I have a new iMac, which came with Lion. I am now using system version 10.7.3. Â
Everything (as far as I can tell) transferred correctly from my previous computer, by way of Time Machine. Except that Mail does not work at all. I spent a lot of time with Apple tech support, to no avail.Â
Here are the symptoms:Â Mail does not show ANY messages or mailboxes -- just a grey, completely empty window -- not even empty folders -- not one folder, not one smart folder, not one message -- everything in the View menu is greyed outI can get all the windows to show up except the main oneif I select "New Viewer Window" in the file menu, Mail crashes and I have to force quitif I select "Message Viewer" in the Window menu, I get the empty grey window.Â
The first tech support person said everything would work when it was finish indexing. Of course that was not true.Â
The second had me delete and reinstall the accounts. Then the program spent a lot of time apparently syncing the IMAP accounts, but still nothing in the window.Â
I had approximately 15 draft emails. They were stored on computer, i.e. the setting "Store draft messages on server" was NOT checked. I re-used those messages often in my business. I am on Mail version 5.2 (1257) and Lion 10/7
Suddenly the whole folder disappeared.
None of the draft messages are in my email account on the server - and they are all gone (deleted?) from on the computer. In other words, I currently see none of my long and quite important Drafts anywhere.Is there any other way to find these drafts and bring them back?

I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.Â

I have an IMac desktop, a MacBook & a 4th generation IPod Touch. As it now stands whenever I receive email it goes to all 3 devices necessitating the need to physically read and/or delete the messages from all 3 devices. I have several iMacs in my office with Lion and Mail 5.1. I have a user who wants to View attachments as Icons to ensure all are attached prior to sending. Unlike all the other iMacs, hers does not have the option "View in Place" and "View as Icon" when she right-clicks on the attachment.
I have found in other posts that you cannot set a defaul to ensure Icons or View in Place will always occur, and that the default depends on the type and size of attachment. I am not sure of that logic, but she can't even choose on an individual email basis. How can those options be enabled?

for iTunes 10.6.3 on OS 10.5.8 ppc, is there a way to get the shrink corner to shrink down the iTunes window to a much smaller size? With this new verson, the window is barely adjustable down, & takes up about 70% of an active screen on this 19 in. widescreen LCD. I have a 21.5" iMac bought in November 2009. I am having a strange happening with it. I have just been using Mail, clicked on the red button at the top left to quit, but the mail window just kept disappearing all but about 3mm off the screen to the top and top left and not quitting. I have also had this happen when using Safari, occasionally if I click on a link on the page to another open another page Safari disappears off the top and top left except for about 3mm.

The Apple Mail on my son's iMac 5, running OS X 10.6.8, shows the number of unread messages (9), but if I click on InBox, the messages themselves don't show up in the main window. This suddenly happened, and none of his old, read messages show up either. But he can access them just fine from his iPod, or through his Network Solutions web mail interface. Also, in Mail we can search part of his email address, and all the messages show up, read and unread! He has no rules set up. The connection doctor shows the connection is fine.
