I have OS X Yosemite on my Imac and now the bookmark bar has popped up, and I can't get rid of it. I can hide it but when I close the window out and open it again it shows up again. I would like to know if there is some way to disable it, or to keep it hid?

I have used Firefox for years but I just downloaded Chrome to give it a try because I hear good things about it here on MR. I have a bookmark toolbar and in Firefox, I have have just text only, but on Chrome, I can't find out how to disable these icons.

Now this page is still appearing any time I press the log-in button to access the secure logging in page, when I go to bookmark. OK, I removed the whole bookmark from safari, accessed the general web site of the company, and whenever I try to access the log-in page, (not even bookmarked!) I immediately get the same error page!, again and again, without even entering any data or user name or attempted password. This "error" page must have been stored somewhere on my MBA.How can I remove this and start a fresh bookmark?

I'm running an old software, it's Mac OS X, ver. 10.4.11, 2 GHZ intel core 2 duo. Safari version 4.1.2. On the Safari tabs at top, "Bookmark" tab, just under "bookmarks bar"option are two websites that are not websites that I have bookmarked. I can't make them go away. I have tried to right click on them but to no avail. They aren't opened anywhere else. Found them right after a new power up.

When I a press Add Bookmark to add new ones, nothing show. When I hit "show all bookmarks" it gives me my complete history, not just sites I want to bookmark. I find it odd that its listed as enabled in Safari even though Lion does not come with Java installed. Any ideas would be appreciated as reducing any attack vector is always a good move, especially at this time.

My superdrive has given up, with a CD inside it. Took it to apple store who confirmed was broken, but the cost to repair was high, and was advised to purchase a cheap external drive. My problem is that the mac keeps trying to read the CD every so often, and the noise as it "whirrs" is really annoying.Â

I like putting my imac to sleep. Unfortunately I have a cat that moves the mouse and steps on the keyboard while I am work. Is there any way I can disable the keyboard and mouse and just use the power button to wake it up from sleeping?

I play a game called Minecraft on the Windows Side of my iMac. I know your going to say, "Why don't you just play on the Mac side?" View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a 23" monitor to replace my iMacs 17" display (since it has a nasty crack in one of the corners). I hooked it up fine and all, but the displays are linked, allowing me to hover the mouse to the iMac's display which I find annoying most of the time.
Is there a way to make the iMac display zone out and just use the external by itself?
When using geekbench, will you get an accurate score from the 32-bit system, or would you need to use a 64-bit system in order to see what your true score is? I only ask because I don't mind spending $20... but I'd rather spend that one something that I will use more than one time.
